Impressive web site and older reviews . However in recent times it seem “ Les Stockton “ has found it more profitable to simply take large deposits with no apparent intention of ever carrying out the works nor refunding monies paid in advance .Its difficult to establish how long he personally has been running this firm as no details appear to be registered at Company’s House . However it would seem that this guy is recognised as a scammer by both Trading Standards and even his own Bank.

I paid a deposit in September 2025 for some work. I was told it would be 20 weeks waiting time as they were very busy. I was happy with that. I now cannot make contact and their premises look deserted

He is a scammer !!! Asked him to do a gate and a rail on brick wall, so he takes a deposit then doesn’t carry out the work!!, 10 months later before he did the gate and 18 months pass by and the rail he has not done yet, he give you lie after a lie. Do not trust him at all. He will take your money and keep you waiting forever.
Also he doesn’t respond to any calls nor messages, also his paint on the gate already
Need repainting.

This company is a total scam. Les Stockton (the owner) came out to our home and took a £1000 deposit to fit gate’s within 25 weeks. This was back in January. This work has never been started. Spent endless time attempting to make contact and chase up the work to no avail. AVOID AVOID AVOID being reported to trading standards. Les Stockton you are a liar and thief!!!

We have booked and paid deposit to have our gates made and installed and we aere promised 14-16 weeks. Those passed long time aho. We allowed them the 25 weeks as per their invoice and still nothing. We have called several times and emailed many times and social media too but no response whatsoever. Very unprofessional, will be reporting to trading standards as is not fair to take people's money and never give a sign.

Have had good service previous. Came and gave quote to relocate gate post's to change my entrance due to extending my house . Then ingnored me for weeks ( i have all the message's and voicemail's ) never responded once. Wondered what was wrong so found time to go and sit at unit till some one turned up .Turned out he had used the steel earmarked for my job to make more profit ( his word'snot mine ) i was livid but stayed calm he promised to rectify in a few days . That was the last time i had any contact from him . He is not a honorable man this is not how you run a honest busines.

Excellent product from a proper old fashioned tradesman would highly recommended 😎 my only negative is that time I waited for job to be completed and a bit of communication would make up for this 😎 having said that would still use again because off his workmanship 👍

We are very happy with our gates and will recommend them to friends and family we give 10/10 for the finished product,We only give 4 stars because of the length of time and lack of communication between Malton gates and ourselves what was stated at 12wks from deposit took 6months to complete and giving dates to turn up then didn't without giving a reason until we called them...more communication would make this a 5star company like its products.
