Gorgeous!
We stopped for a quick snack on our walk and had the most gorgeous home made samosas! Both the veggie & the lamb were sublime. Next time we would make time to sample the full menu at this gorgeous place!
Lovely welcoming service.

Nestled in the beautiful Surrey Hills, our artisan Indian Kitchen is situated. In our kitchen, we do not churn out a “curry” because it sounds Indian! Every dish we create comes with a personal story – from my mother’s Kaju Chicken to the best Kaali Dal I tasted in a little place in Amritsar. Our food carries with it the love, joy and happy memories of meals with friends and family complete with lively animated conversations and laughter. So we hope when you enjoy our food – be it in quiet solitude with a favourite person or book or shared across a large table with family and friends – you too feel this love and comfort… Available to eat on our patio or take home with you.

Lovely welcoming service.
Today was my best friend's significant birthday and she was clear that it had to be at Mandiras! We've been before but this was probably the best ever - perfect setting by Silent Pool and amazing food as ever - plus my fave Mango Lassi. Service was excellent and they happily helped me set a surprise Birthday cake and song for her....and they didnt mind us 'hanging out' there for ages after we had finished!!
Not cheap but still some of the best Indian food available in the region. Lovely setting and v pleasant staff. The ready meals are a big step up on supermarket offerings.
For those sour types who think Mandira’s should control the weather and then went to double the effort to post what are to any reasonable eye vindictive and bizarre comments - maybe stay away, you spoil the atmosphere of a very special place.
over the years we have shopped and dined at Mandiras for special occasions, themed outings and always had a lovely time with delicious food and great service.
Our first visit to Mandira’s Kitchen at Albury Silent Pool, and what a wonderful experience it was! We hadn’t booked and decided to visit on a whim, but from the moment we arrived, we were welcomed so graciously. The service from start to finish was absolutely impeccable. We had our dog with us, and the team were so accommodating, even finding us a lovely table in the shade.
The food was simply superb! We ordered the biryani and chicken roti, along with a jug of homemade lemonade, and every single thing was exquisite from the delicious dips to the incredible dhal. Everything was beautifully prepared, full of flavour and clearly made with care.
And all of this in such a beautiful and peaceful location. It really couldn’t have been a more enjoyable first visit.
We highly recommend Mandira’s Kitchen and will definitely be returning! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spoilt our Mother's Day celebration by sitting us out in the freezing cold and windy weather under a canopy! No previous warning given!!! Very, very disappointing!
The afternoon tea was appalling..... dry bread stale sandwiches, the lamb kebabs were stale and hard, dhoklas were dry and .. AND .... the cutting chai was a joke, cold, muddy looking, with a thick sediment of godknowswhat!!!! £32.50 each .... a rip off!!! Please stop embarrassing the Indian snack reputation!!!
On a cold windy day we were allotted a table outside protected only by flimsy sheeting. Owner said she would see about getting some heating but nothing came. Blankets were provided. Serving staff were pleasant but seemed under pressure. Food was very average.
We recently attended the Halloween event. Stroll to the Silent Pool, lanterns, ghost stories with amazing chai and samosa and then back to the beautifully decorated barn.
We then sat down to an amazing three course carefully curated Indian meal. Full of flavour with warmth, variety and the best Makhani dal I’ve ever.
Thoroughly recommend and we are already planning on revisiting.
I booked this for an international team dinner. The charm of the barn & the story behind it touched everyone.
Right from the ambience to service of the food
the staff extremely friendly, courteous and service focussed.
A visit to Mandira’s Kitchen is more than just a meal – it’s an experience that stays with you.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic Indian flavours in a beautiful Surrey setting!
Visited Mandiras Kitchen on Sunday to celebrate a friends birthday, had afternoon tea, what a delight, an assortment of mini flavour bombs, was a great experience -so if you are looking for a slightly different celebration I would highly recommend afternoon Tea at Mandiras Kitchen
The food is delicious and so different from the usual curry houses. I particularly enjoy the mango lassi, samosas and garam masala cake. We come here after family walks in the Surrey Hills and are never disappointed with our choices. The informal, relaxed setting overlooking Silent Pool is a bonus, as is the shop, with lots of tempting goodies.
We’ve visited a few times and always have a great experience. The food is really good and the staff couldn’t be nicer. The views are also beautiful. I always pick up a jar of their tomato and date chutney - it’s the best I’ve ever had. Will definitely be back and I’d recommend it to everyone.
I took my parents there recently and honestly it was a truly wonderful experience. My dad is ageing and has some challenges. The server at Mandira's could not have been more understanding and made him feel so welcome. The food was delicious, the setting completely glorious and all round a very happy moment. Thank you Mandira's!
Excellent. This is the second time I have been to Mandiras kitchen and it didn’t disappoint! We had the afternoon tea, which was very nice. The food is just like being in India, it is definitely worth a visit!!
Lovely little Gem - Attended for the Indian BBQ event.
Tranquil Dining restaurant overlooking the silent pool.
Also great little shop stocked full of Indian freezer meals, sides, desserts, gelato.
Would be the perfect location to hold a 40th or key event!
THANK YOU MANDIRA'S KITCHEN TEAM !
My car broke down close to restaurant and shop, so whilst waiting in the hot sun for the AA man, I popped in to use their loo.
Greeted by Claire, Cara and Dan I was immediately welcomed in to take shelter from the heat, to rest at a lovely table in the shade by a stunning little lake!
They served me ice cold water and fresh Samosa's, hot from the oven. They were so so generous AND SO KIND - and their food was DELICIOUS! They warmed my soul 💖
They even gave me a couple of Samosas to give the AA man.
I live not too far away and have now discovered the most stunning and perfect place to take guests for lunch, they even have wheelchair access for my mum to sit by the lake, so I am going back for sure!
Fantastic shop too and freezer meals all made by them!
Thank you Claire, Cara and Dan for your kindness, your hospitality and for turning a really bad day into something really very special xxx
I visited Mandira's Kitchen for the first time today, and from the moment we stepped into the Barn, we were warmly greeted and shown to our seats. The Barn is delightful. We were there for the special Mother's Day High Chai, carefully and thoughtfully curated by Mandira which was so delicious and a delightful change from the usual afternoon tea with sandwiches. From the whitebait, to the Bombay Bhel, to the Chennai Spring Lamb Roll, to the nectar of the bottomless Chai that Mandira brings to each table in her lovely teapot and is the most delicious drink. There were lovely cocktails to choose from too. It was a fabulous experience and we will be back. Thank you all for a special afternoon.
