Mantel Farm is a family run Garden Farming Business located in the heart of the East Sussex countryside. Our shop is open 2 days a week on Fridays and Sundays 10am - 4pm. Selling poultry, beekeeping equipment, animal housing, animal supplies, feed and equipment. We provide animal boarding services for when you go away and run regular chicken and beekeeping courses.

To bee or not to bee... that is the question.
A thorough and detailed introduction to beekeeping for anyone considering taking the plunge into hives and homemade honey. A lovely location - knowledgeable and friendly tutors - and free cake! There's a lot to learn for the bee novice but the pace is about right and the hands-on stuff at the hives is a great experience. You come away feeling that the answer to the question "To bee or not to bee?" is to bee!

Mantel farm
Mantel farm is a very well run business who have a vast knowledge of chickens, among other things. Staff are very helpful and no question is too silly. They started me out on our journey with chickens and I still go back to them. If I’m nice, they even carry my goods to the car!

Quality beautiful chickens _Thank you Mantel farm
Lovely to have some(4) chickens back in my life.Very knowledgeable helpful friendly staff.Girls have settled well and I have been rewarded with 4eggs ,not bad since they only arrived Sunday afternoon.

Always a wonderful all round service from Mantel Farm. Website easy to navigate and clear information given. Staff in shop always friendly and extremely helpful. Lovely, healthy hens. I’d definitely recommend Mantel Farm and will continue to buy my hens from them.

I picked up some supplies for my hens. I know I can always rely on Mantel Farm to have good quality products that they have used and tested themselves. I can always get advice about any aspect of keeping hens while I am in and I will always receive a warm welcome and smile. I don't go anywhere else for anything I need for my hens.

beekeeping course
Very happy with the beekeeping course.The instructor was clear on explaining each section and let us all ask lots of questions which he answered.
It was a great experience learning about bee's. The course was set out very well.
Loved going to the beehives and seeing the queen bee.

Marvellous Mantel Farm
Mantel farm have always been communicative and helpful. I was due to pick up chickens this week but due to the bird flue, this has been delayed. However Mantel farm have been sending out updates and news around this issue and will be sending comms out to let us know when we can pick our chooks up.
Highly recommended by me
