company won't admit their own mistake
We have ordered a bed a coffee table from this company, altogether this went for a total of almost 6000€.
When I placed the order, I said that the bed had to arrive in multiple pieces, as it is for our second floor, so it needed to fit in the staircase. Julian, who was the person I was discussing this with by email, said it would be okay.
When we received the bed, it was indeed in multiple pieces. But the wooden slats (180cm x 200cm) arrived in one piece. I messaged them again, informing them of their mistake, and asked to be sent the wooden slats in 2 parts, as it says from the manufacturer that is possible. I even suggested that I could pay for the shipping, and return the wrong part to them. They said that it's not possible, and they wanted to sell me the correct slats for another 550€!
According to them, I did not mention that I wanted the slats in 2 pieces. So I should have guessed that when I said the bed needed to be in multiple pieces, that the slats, which are part of the bed, were not going to be in multiple pieces, like I asked.
This company is acting in bad faith, and are trying to blame their customers for their own mistake.
I only put 2 stars because the items I received were of good quality, but I would never recommend Martinel to anyone. Find the items that you need from other companies, with a customer service that can recognise when they have messed up.
