Mastin Labs Avis 75

I come from a different perspective than the wedding photographers. My background is Advertising/Graphic Arts. While researching for presets I contacted some of the worlds most respected Photographers. I was in search of that high-end sexy polished magazine look that still had a film quality about it. Every one of them said Mastin Labs. I followed their advice and have not looked back since. If you really love film, check out Mastin Labs.

I absolutely love every Mastin Preset pack I have purchased, I use them all for different settings depending on location, season and lighting.I have always been skeptical about presets as the ones Ive had always needed tons of work tweaking and the results were never the same as advertised. When i looked into Mastin and eventually purchased my first pack I was blown away how EASY and quickly I was able to get the results, it cut down HOURS from my editing and I was able to use that spare time for family and get quicker delivery times to my clients. I also absolutely love how film like it looks, as I used to shoot film when I was younger!Another one of my favorite features for these presets is the highlight and shadows preservation! We have tons of harsh light during summer here in Alaska so there are days and places where it is tough to photograph in mountainous beachy open areas! Another top favorite thing about these presets is the control if green tones and being able to balance it with skin tones really easy! Ive always struggled with green tones and didnt like it I love the range that Mastin Lab’s presets offer to control the greens, they are absolutely eye pleasing and perfect! Once you buy one pack you will want to buy them all, because they are truly artfully crafted to resemble film!

Coming from a film shooting background, I recent purchased Mastin Labs Portra Pack and am well impressed with the results. The workflow in Capture One Pro using the Portra recipe is an absolute joy. A truly superb product for creating the famous Portra look! Highly recommended

Worked great for me, a streamlined way to achieve a look that balances well alongside work shot on film, and easy to adjust and tweak to suit your taste and subject matter..

Unfortunately, they do not give a refund when you are really not happy with your purchase. I tried to explain why the preset I bought did not work for me but they were not a big help. I thought customer satisfaction should come first. I was wrong.

Too much contrast and saturation. Once you apply a preset, you would have to spend so much time tweaking it in order to get some resemblance with film. They do chose their marketing materials wisely. However, when it comes to real life work the quality of presets is so low. Again what you can see on their web site was selected carefully to give you the right impression. I've been shooting film for years and never have I ever had an image edited with Mastin Labs that would look like film. I'd say poor mimicking, that's all. Interestingly enough, they only show you positive four and five star reviews on their web site and when I wrote mine giving it a one star, it never came through. I'd not buy it again.

I have found my people with Mastin Labs!
I have used probably 10 million other presets, and even tried creating my own before I took a leap and went with Mastin almost 3 years ago and haven't looked back. I love love love not only the presets, but the community and how supportive Kirk and the entire team are! Mastin Labs presets are genuinely meant to enhance your abilities as a photographer, not replace them, and they're not falling into the trap of what's trendy. SO proud to be a Mastin user!

I now own 4 of the Mastin packs and LOVE them! They have been a game changer for me. Post processing time is cut by more then half, my work is more consistent and my clients love their images. Not sure why the bad reviews, if you reach out MastinLabs is extremely helpful & there is a Mastin Labs Community on Facebook that is amazing. Photographers, Mastin users and Kirk Mastin himself are always willing to help, encourage and educate. The presets aren’t a magical bandaid for a poorly shot image. The magic starts in camera with the proper exposure & WB. I shoot sessions knowing which pack I want to use and rarely have to do more then adjust exposure, WB & tint. I’m a Mastin girl for life! 🥰

I finally have a consistently beautiful edit for my photos, thanks to Mastin Labs and their presets. They've made my photos look so much more professional and give that timeless film look too. I love it!

Mastin Labs user of 6 years here! It's helped me cut my editing time and create a consistent style in my work. My packs of choice are the Ilford for my live show photography and I use Fujicolor Original for my portrait work because of its clean skin tones and versatility.

I rarely leave reviews here but the case of Mastin labs is just outrageous. It is a complete joke. From all the presets and profile makers those are the most tasteless and dodgy despite Kirk Mastin claiming he made it based on real film scans.

In reality they are not true to real film and quite a long way from those doctored images he uses in his samples gallery. Also this guy seems to be using an army of bots and fake websites to create an illusion of support.

After my own experience with this vendor I can only reiterate what others say: avoid.

Disappointed with the quality of Mastin's Kodak Everyday pack. Not true to real film at all, inaccurate, poor results. Only 3 presets in the package, look like VSСО copies but simplified and poorly designed compared to the originals. The price of $99 is absolutely inappropriate for what it is. Avoid this seller by any means, it's a scam.
