I recently purchased a property from The Pastures in Grays, and I cannot recommend Simone enough! From start to finish, she was absolutely outstanding — supportive, welcoming, incredibly knowledgeable, and truly the face of the agency.
Simone took the time to understand what I was looking for, considering my living situation and preferences, and helped me explore the best options for my needs. Her expertise was evident every step of the way; she always had answers to my questions and reassured me throughout the process.
What truly stood out was her dedication. Even when I was on the brink of not completing the sale due to issues beyond her control, she went above and beyond — chasing solicitors, contacting site management, coordinating with colleagues — she worked tirelessly to get everything over the line. Her proactive attitude and persistence made all the difference, and I genuinely believe she was the reason I was able to complete this purchase.
One thing I really appreciated was how she shared in the journey — when I was stressed, she was stressed with me. And when there was something to celebrate, she celebrated with me! That genuine warmth and camaraderie made a huge difference and made the process much more positive.
Simone is warm, reassuring, and always accessible — she answers her phone promptly and comes with solutions. During my experience, I interacted with other agents from the office, but none compare to her level of support and professionalism. She genuinely cares, and her enthusiasm and dedication shine through.
She made such an impact on me that I asked her for recommendations on tradespeople, because I trusted that anyone she would suggest would be a reflection of her high standards. And she did not disappoint — she connected me with a flooring company, gave me ideas for upgrades, and even recommended a gardener. Everyone she’s recommended has been truly fantastic, which just goes to show the kind of person she is — she attracts great people around her.
Honestly, she deserves so much more recognition for what she does. She goes way beyond her role and truly makes a difference. If you’re looking for an agent who is trustworthy, supportive, and committed, Simone is the one.
This wasn’t my first rodeo when it comes to buying a home, and I can confidently say this was my most exceptional experience — all thanks to her. Thank you, Simone, for everything!

I would strongly caution anyone considering purchasing from Matthew Homes to proceed with extreme care. My experience has been deeply frustrating and, in my view, reflects a serious lack of quality control and accountability.

The property I received turned out to fall significantly short of the standards one would reasonably expect from a professional developer. I identified multiple issues that raised concerns about workmanship and whether everything had been completed to an appropriate standard. The fact that the property had reportedly been approved under NHBC processes only added to my concern.

What has been most disappointing is the response when these issues were raised. Rather than being addressed in a constructive and transparent manner, I found the approach to be evasive and unhelpful. From my perspective, there was a clear reluctance to take responsibility or provide meaningful resolution, leaving me to deal with the consequences.

Purchasing a home is one of the most significant investments a person can make. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise anyone to obtain thorough independent inspections and not rely solely on assurances or approvals provided during the buying process.

This has been an extremely disappointing experience, and I feel it is important to share it so others can make fully informed decisions.

We recently bought a house at the meadow gardens development, we have been very happy with the service and patience we have received. Particularly Kevin Huynh was brilliant, he accommodated any visits we asked for and took time to speak with us and help us. Our home is beautiful and the site team have been extremely helpful and happy to attend to any issues.

We have been looking at moving for a while, then we though to explore Thurston. We took a drive through the village and came across a few new build sites. We then came across Matthew Homes the Hedgerows site, so thought we would have a look.

After looking around the show home we couldn’t help but fall in love with the site and our new home (the nightingale) the house is situated in a really nice position and the houses are spaced out with lots of room around them compared to other sites.

Therefore we had to put an offer in and had it accepted on the property we loved. Amanda, Adrian on site & Chris at the head office have been amazing throughout our purchase and completion and would always keep us up to date on how everything is going :)

We couldn’t wait to move in. Once we had moved, Phil the site manager has been on top of our snagging list and would always be around to help if we need it.

We are so so glad that we have brought through Matthew homes and would defiantly recommend them ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We moved in approximately 3 weeks ago to the Meadow Garden's, Clacton development and from start to finish the service from Matthew Homes has been excellent. From the first moment of my wife and I popping in on a whim to the sales office whereby we were not even sure whether we want to sell/move or not, all the way to present day living in what we will consider our forever home. On that first visit to the sales office we were greeted by Kevin Huynh who greeted us warmly, was kind and considerate to our children and took the time to show us and our girls one of the houses for sale. Throughout the process, Kevin couldn't be helpful enough at every step taking time to support us wherever necessary but making each conversations light hearted and the process fun too. We were gutted to hear Kevin left for a short time, but was delighted to hear that he was back on the site. Since moving in there have been very limited, minor snags which the site managers Graham and James have arrange to be sorted very quickly and with no hassle at all and going above and beyond our expectations. Overall, my wife, children and I are incredibly happy with the service we've received from Matthew Homes and the staff on site overall at Meadow Gardens, Clacton. So all we can say is thankyou! :)

During the extremely protracted process of selling our own home, we maintained regular contact with the sales office in Attleborough.
The majority of our communication was with and through Jackie, the sales negotiator, whose marketing and communication skills facilitated our positive outcome.
Before completion we were able to view the property regularly which aided forward planning.
Our post sale interactions with the site manager have also been positive and the short and minor snagging list is being addressed.
We are extremely happy with our new home.

We moved into our beaitiful family own in october 202t. From the moment we walked into the starting phase of the development, Simone was so lovely, helpful and guided us from the start to completion. I am so grateful to Simome for making our buying process less stressful. She really loves her job and it shows by always being on hand to help.

From the very first visit to the Green Park Gardens development in Goffs Oak to exchange of contracts and imminent completion we have had nothing but a wonderful experience with the entire team. Christine initially then Dominic and Jill and laterlly Max. We had some bumps along the way which Dominic and Jill helped us through and always went the extra mile to help us across the line. We love our new, first house on the White House park estate. Jackie in the sales office has been amazing all the way through, helping us and talking through each step. We have had a few major issues but these have been sorted very quickly and David (site manager) has been great in helping us. We have a few snags still but these are in hand to be sorted. Thanks all!

House thats full of mould, plasterboard beetles and booklice and when you tell the site manager he tells you his never heard of these before to just keep using bleach daily to clean it.

They dig up your front garden to put a post in and they damage all your grass and chuck the mud all in your grass then refuse to fix and lie for months that they fixed. when you ask for what they are claiming the done in writing they stop responding.

They make you use their solicitor and tell you, that you cant use your own solicitor, so you get rid of your solicitor then she lies what are your boundaries even after you moved in, is impossible to contact.

They unblock the drains and just chuck all the rubbish in the road. You have builders spitting outside your house.

Not to mentions poop pipes not even connected in the loft, half the loft insulation missing, cavity missing then the contractors turning up and being rude.

Flooring needing ripped up soon as we moved in then putting all their dirty tools on your bed where you sleep with your 1 year old.

The site manager becomes very annoyed and now wont even speak will send others.

All the people who brought fully got no door numbers, outdoor lights, grass or concrete garden post, but all the sheard ownership and social housing did.

You expect new houses to have issues but not this many it shows a lack of supervision and care. The way they get annoyed when you report problems is unprofessional.

A genuinely refreshing experience — Amanda is exceptional

If another estate agent opens the door and says, “Look at this very large kitchen,” or, “Isn’t that a nice window to the garden,” I think I might lose the corner plot! I have two eyes — I can work the rest out myself. And or, what I can’t stand is being interrogated during a viewing or talked at endlessly while trying to take in a home I’m genuinely considering. People need room to think, or chat to their partner! Unfortunately, these horrible habit to justify their existence seem to be the norm in the industry.

This is why Amanda at Matthew Homes (Thurston) was an absolute breath of fresh air.

From the moment we met, she treated the viewing like a conversation, not a performance. She pointed out the things a buyer wouldn’t know, asked thoughtful questions, listened properly and never made assumptions. She wasn’t pushy, impatient or dismissive — just genuinely helpful, knowledgeable and easy to deal with. I actually recommended her to my own estate agent because the contrast was that stark. (They didn't take it well btw)

If every estate agent worked the way Amanda does, buying a home would be far less anxious and annoying experience.

In the end, I didn’t purchase a Matthew Homes property simply because we couldn’t quite agree on price (the house was fantastic — my bank account less so). I’m genuinely disappointed not to be moving into a Redwing at The Hedgerows, but I am very grateful to have dealt with someone who restored a bit of faith in the humanity.

Our experience will Matthew Homes is a very good one. From the first day we went to view Meadow Gardens in Clacton.Kevin Huynh took us around, very good and patient Salesman, a nice bloke on a personal level also who guided us every step of the way.
It was thereby a surprise when we were told he has left on the day we went for the keys, we wanted to take pictures with him as family. If I had his personal number, I'd invited him personally.
But he's back now and I was really happy to see him back to his job.
You homes are good, my family loves Meadow Gardens, but pls keep Kevin Huynh, he was the reason we bought the house when it had not even been built yet.

We are a recent mover into our new Matthew Homes built house on the Ashfield Elmswell estate. The contract manager James Hesketh has been superb enduring that any snagging issues were noted and action taken to correct issues. He is superb thank you so much Matthew Homes

We recently moved into our new Home, built by Matthew Homes.

We understand due to the nature of such big projects there will always be snagging items, which we raised, shortly after moving Into the property.

We found ourselves in an unfortunate position where a bigger issue was highlighted, while trying to rectify the original problem.

Jack and Paul, the contractors that were designated to help us carry out work, were amazing with their expertise. They took hold of the issues at hand and went above and beyond their remit to help us resolve everything. Their team of builders were incredibly hard working, tidy and respectful.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Jack and Paul, and we are extremely grateful for everything they did for us. We would call them back any time.

Do not buy from Matthew Homes. The house has terrible isulation but the worst for me is that since I purchased the house, I have been wasting lots of money to try keep the front garden turf alive. However nothing worked. I gave up and started removing and uncovered building waste including plastic bags, remains of cement, bricks and other rubbish under the turf. No joke it would not thrive. I contacted Mattew Homes who said I was 16 days off the end if the warranty and therefore they would not take accountability, even though they intentionally did this before the property was put for sale in the market. I am reporting them to the Trading Standards. Stay away!!

Dominic was really helpful throughout the whole process, everything went well smoothly and we had no issues whatsoever! Also the Site Manager, Max, was really friendly a provided us with a great presentation of the plot.
