Dirty, loud, and full of surprises — and not the good kind
We picked up and returned our van in Hobart, yet were slugged a $147 "Hobart pick-up fee" that was never disclosed at booking. When we queried it, the response was simply "everyone gets that charge." Charming.
The van was overdue for a service — the warning light covered the odometer the whole trip. Gas burner rings were missing clips and rattled endlessly. The crockery drawer had mismatched replacements never refitted — also rattled the entire journey. Smelly used toilet paper was found behind the toilet. Let's just leave it there.
Premium price, budget execution. We won't be back.

Appalling customer service and dirty …
Appalling customer service and dirty motorhome provided at Maui Motorhome Rentals Hobart office. Provided a dirty motorhome with a large chip in the windscreen. After complaining that this was not acceptable waited for 45mins - 1 hour to have the windscreen fix and the air con unit cleaned from black dust. Not being provided a first aid kit. A lot of excuses for why the van was dirty and why we could not have been given another motorhome. Broken and dirty cleaning items such as a broom with the handle rusted in half with the rusty broken bit of the handle rolling around under the seating. Dented side sliding door that took excessive effort to close properly. Advised not to be gentle and slam the door. It was also suggested that it could be my age group as to why I could not close the door. A return visit next day back to the Hobart office to request a first aid kit, request a broom that was not broken and rusty, clean dustpan and show the staff the caked mud on the curtains when the curtains were closed. The manager and customer service rep that originally provided the motorhome to us just stared at me.
I have suggested to Maui that they invest in training for this office staff to ensure quality customer service with a dose of empathy and care not just trying to on sell more insurance and take or leave it attitude. The lack of professionalism, concern for safety and comfort for customers was appalling. The various motorhome companies the Hobart office represents are not to blame but does shine a bad light on these groups with such bad service. Maui Motorhome Rentals have provided an apology for this horrible experience and poor treatment received from the Hobart International Airport Office.

THL is terrible to deal with
thl is terrible company to deal with. i have hired the campervan to be picked up from the airport, however their airport office was closed at 3pm and i reached there at 3.30 due to flight delay. there was no after hours key pickup. next day i reached to their office on time, and they hand over the key without any induction. i spent extra $1000 for hotel and car hire for two camper van. stay away from THL hobart.
Very bad service. Car breakdown. Still charged late return.Unprofessional staff

We had a fantastic experience with Maui rentals in Hobart. The staff were very helpful on pick up and drop off. The motorhome was in perfect condition and very clean. l would highly recommend using Maui in Hobart.

The customer service was excellent. The Motorhome was fairly new with about 35K Klms on the clock so it drove really well. We went the platinum package so everything is included with no surprises.
The TV is really only a monitor so you need cables from your phone, which I didn't have. That meant no TV for 2 weeks. Best decision ever. No distractions from the rest of the world while we travelled the pristine Tasmania.
Will definitely hire from THL again.
