Professional intervention that resolved a very difficult claim
McLarens ultimately handled my fire claim professionally and fairly, although the journey to resolution was not straightforward due to issues involving the contractor and the project manager.
After a fire at my commercial property in September 2022, the reinstatement process became extremely stressful and difficult to navigate as a policyholder with no prior experience of a major claim.
The situation changed decisively when Paul Durham of McLarens became directly involved. He assessed the matter objectively, ensured the issues were independently reviewed, and ultimately secured a resolution where the contractor and project manager stepped away from the project. An independent survey by Dovetail Building Consultants Ltd later confirmed that there were significant defects in the roofing installation, validating the concerns I had raised.
In my view his intervention prevented defective works from being formally signed off. His professionalism, accessibility and willingness to engage directly restored my confidence in the claims process and made a very difficult situation far easier to deal with.

I was very disappointed in how this company handled the situation we had involving a dishwasher leak into our cupboards and it swelled immediately. They came out and checked the damage and did not discuss that this (according to him) was a gradual leak and that our insurance will only cover a portion of this. McLarens went ahead and approved the loss from the contractor who was meant to fix our cupboards and approved this by written email, the next day they phoned back stating that they made a mistake and that they cannot go ahead anymore due to a clause in our insurance as this is now a gradual leak. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of communication this assessor gave us and not even disclosing what they call "terms and conditions" but going ahead with the claim and approving it and then not approving it. Please don't consider this company as I never will in the future.

We manage a large residential development in North London and McLarens are our insurers nominated Loss Adjuster.
With a development of this size unfortunately leaks are inevitable, and McLarens consistently provide a professional and expedient service when settling claims.

Working with Jack Jenkins was incredible. Jack genuinely cared about creating a environment for the client to feel safe and heard, as always in the event of any claim it is very easy to underestimate the emotional impact. Jack took care of this with a prompt site visit, and provided a practical approach to dealing with the claim and collaborated really well with us the brokers and the client. Was happy to accommodate a clear fair outcome for all parties involved, so it wasn't just all insurer way or no way (which is very common with most insurers in the UK, but not like that with McLarens). If you do ever have an insurance claim, hopefully you will be lucky enough to work with McLarens and Jack like I did. Thanks again guys! The client appreciated all your help.
