Interstate money top up to main trading account to cover DD or SO providing money is there as an option.

Great money management tool for my business, reliable and access friendly.
Would like the option for the savings pots to somehow be linked to the main balance account as a full balance so if a direct debit or standing order needs to be paid and I haven’t left enough money in the main trading account the direct debit is paid automatically taking money from a saving pot. I think this would be useful if it was available as an option to select on the account as a couple of times I have forgot to top up my trading account had a direct debit refused yet I have £12000.00 in my pots and the DD is for £40.00 which then causes issues or non payment which then can affect a credit score!!!!
If an algorithm can be written to do this, I would chose it as an option to my set up.
Other than that, love the account operation and I’m not a great lover of digital technology!!!

Complete incompetence!!

Complete incompetence!!! Cannot believe an organisation let alone a so called bank can operate this way in the UK! Initially I was told it would take up to 10 days to open a business account which in itself is ridiculous! After 12 days of waiting with absolutely no information and being repeatedly told by what must have been an automated AI message that they could not tell me how long it would take this changed to up to 20 days and they STILL did not meet their second ridiculous deadline!!!

Despite the fact that I have over 40 years of banking history in the UK including various business bank accounts over the years and absolutely NO adverse credit history, it took these clowns and their ridiculous automatic AI responses TWENTY FOUR days to finally open an account for me!

I planned to deposit funds from the upcoming sale of property and I was asked for proof of more than the funds that I told them I would deposit once the sale completed. They insisted on receiving a memorandum of sale to show the property was being sold and even asked me to get a statement from my solicitor. WTF!!! I would understand if I was trying to borrow money! But just to open a bank account? Any bank operating with any kind of brain cells should know that money coming in from another UK bank account can be traced! I wasn't asking to deposit cash and even if I was there are checks that are conducted to ensure cash deposits are not for money laundering purposes. Most of these are now even automated via HMRC etc.

This so called bank is the epitome of when AI replaces brain cells and goes soooo wrong that it becomes unfathomable incompetence!!! Throughout the ridiculousness, I kept getting AI messages stating "Just checking back in, let us know if you still need our help". On one occasion an assistant replied to my chat message via email and after I emailed him to let him know I had already responded via chat, another assistant emailed me to say that replying by email does not quicken their response and I should stick to using the chat!!!!!

I only applied for a Mettle account because my Accountant said they provide a free accounting software which helps him. Frankly, had I known the CRAP I was going to endure I would have paid him extra to do without the damn software. Amidst being told, "unfortunately, I'm unable to provide a specific timescale at the moment...." several times, I applied for a Monzo business account and within 90 mins, my account was open; I had my account number and sort code and all was ready to use!!! And frankly I think Monzo banking App is better than Mettle!

I raised a complaint twice and each time I ask about the progress of my complaint I am told my complaint has been logged. Is this even compliant with banking code of conduct?

Shame on you Mettle! Totally PANTS!!

Tried to open a business account. They said it would be 20 days before it would get reviewed. That is unacceptable 👍👍

Simple to use and easy to set up.

The only issue I have is that Mettle does not accept international transfers. This is a bit of a pain for me as some of my clients are based abroad.

If you’re only dealing with UK clients then this is good, simple account.

A great business account for small…

A great business account for small businesses, especially self employed. All the basics covered paying and receiving money, categorising transactions, also includes creating invoices that are matched to transactions. Free FreeAgent account has been excellent for MTD. I’ve been a customer for 18 months.

Things to note: can not accept payments from international clients, other currencies from non-UK banks.
