Faulty item, terrible customer service.

Earrings arrived faulty and not clasping correctly, this company told me to fix them myself by watching an online tutorial. Terrible customer service.
The seller will reply that they did everything right which is total lie and he was very condescending with his emails. They claim they have proof earrings were sent in good condition which is also a lie. This company just sends faulty items then speaks rude to you when you raise a problem. They did not offer to fix this problem. They should not be in business.

From experience, we know that sometimes huggies can be accidentally bent out of shape, which stops the mechanism from clicking properly. This is a common design characteristic across all huggies. The good news is that it’s usually a very simple fix — just a gentle adjustment to return them to their original shape.

Unprofessional and Condescending Customer Support

My experience with Midsummer Star has been extremely disappointing. The jewellery I received was poor quality, and when I tried to resolve the issue, Krishnan’s response was unprofessional and dismissive.

What’s even more concerning is the way this business responds publicly to other negative reviews. Many customers have reported faulty or broken items, and instead of showing accountability, the replies from Midsummer Star are often rude, condescending, and completely unhelpful. A professional and solution-focused response would make a difference, but instead customers are belittled.

The sheer number of similar complaints shows this is not an isolated case but a recurring issue. Under Australian Consumer Law, customers are legally entitled to goods of acceptable quality, and businesses must provide remedies when products are defective. The pattern of complaints and the company’s dismissive tone suggests a disregard for these obligations. I will be reporting this business to Fair Trading and the ACCC for further investigation.

I strongly advise others to read the many negative reviews before purchasing here.

In response to midsummer stars reply to me. You did not offer a refund unless I sent to ring back at my own expense even though I sent photos of a ring that had zero damage. The gem stone fell out on day one, this means it’s faulty not damaged by the user. Your first response to my review was actually deleted and you tried to post a link to a page “can you really trust reviews”. Dodgy as hell. If you’ve offered a refund then where is my prepaid postage label, or refund? You have the order number, you have the bank account details, give me back my money 👏 currently building up a case for consumer laws, if anyone’s having this experience welcome to reply with your experience, I have print screened the reviews and attached them to my complaint to get this company held accountable

** looking up personal information about what I do for a living doesn’t look great midsummer, never abused and insulted your staff only stated my rights.

Hot tip for anyone else experiencing this, you can also talk with your bank and explain the situation, my mum and myself have done this and it’s worked, don’t let a company intimidate you with their words and looking up personal information.

❌ Bracelet Broke After 2 Days - Poor Response from Brand

I’ve been a loyal customer of Midsummer Star for a while now and have purchased several pairs of their earrings, which I’ve been happy with. That’s why I decided to finally purchase one of their bracelets, which I’d been wanting for a long time.

Unfortunately, the bracelet was a complete disappointment. It arrived on a Wednesday, and by Friday - after only minimal, careful wear - it was already broken. For an $89 bracelet, that is completely unacceptable.

I contacted their customer service expecting they would stand by their product. Instead, they offered a repair but insisted I cover the shipping costs, despite the bracelet breaking after just two days. I explained that I was careful with the piece, but they dismissed my concerns and refused to take accountability.

I won’t be purchasing from Midsummer Star again. Their products may look nice, but based on my experience, the quality does not match the price, and their customer service is disappointing.

I wouldn’t recommend their bracelets, especially if you’re expecting durability or decent after-sales support.

Update: I’ve now seen the company’s public reply, which unfortunately misrepresents the situation. I reached out within two days because the bracelet broke after minimal, careful wear. I never admitted any fault, because this is clearly a product quality issue.

Their response also mentions a free shipping gift, which has no relevance to the bracelet’s poor durability or how quickly it broke.

I stand by my review and wouldn’t recommend purchasing their bracelets based on both the quality of the product and the disappointing way they’ve handled this situation.

I’ll also be sharing a video review of my experience to help others make an informed decision.

Regarding our service we did ship fast and free including a free $15 gift with your $80 purchase. We did respond kindly and with care to your concerns and if you do wish to accept our offer of a free repair in future please get in touch.

Earrings broke within a few months. As well as awful rusting. Avoid buying from here. I wish I checked trustpilot before purchasing.

Sterling Silver does not rust, if it's dirty cleaning it will make it look new again. About the breakage you would need to contact us with some further information.

Broke in 2 days

So disappointed in the service and products. I received a necklace which broke in two wears. The chain is so incredibly thin it can't withstand normal wear at all. I asked for a refund and they refused but said I'd also need to pay an additional $10 to have it repaired. Muchless it took 5 days to respond and I had to email to follow up. Tone in their customer service is very careless. If the chain is so thin they have to put a disclaimer on their website, they need a new supplier...

In response to your reply - it is not acceptable to charge someone $10 for a faulty product. It is your responsibility as a retailer to provide refunds for products which have broken due to poor manufacturing. These chains are quite clearly poor quality and I can guarantee you are receiving more customer complaints than if you had a thicker chain purely based on the fact that you felt the need to write your chains are thin in your care instructions and have an entire portion of your return policy dedicated to it. It's much more likely you refuse to use quality materials and have seemingly gotten away with ripping people off (as shown by customers on this thread) so you can make more profit. You've knowingly sold a faulty product. I have contacted my bank and will also be putting in my own complaint with ACCC. Hopefully with at least a second customer putting in a complaint with them you will be held accountable.

The $10 only covers my postage costs, the repair itself is free. We have tried heavier chains but people complained about them.

Terrible quality

Terrible quality metals, the gold looks orange and so cheap! The customer service is also appalling, so rude and not helpful at all.

Hey Holly, without more information its hard to know exactly what you are talking about to be honest, we use Sterling Silver as our base metal and offer either a 14K or 18K gold vermeil finish. Not sure which it is you find is cheap, both are actually premium finishes, unlike the rubbish many companies offer.

poor quality and terrible customer service

My ring snapped into three pieces within two months for no reason. No excessive pressure was placed on the ring. I contacted support and was advised "jewellery is not able to be twisted and bent, if that happens it can become broken"
I explained the jewellery was not twisted or bent however no offer of replacement or voucher was offered.
Pretty disappointing for a $50 purchase, would not buy from them again

Never again

I ordered a ring from them and received a delivery notice and a picture of a package being held next to the communal front doors letterbox, I emailed them explaining that I had not received my item and that I had spoken to both neighbours who also hadn't seen any packages. It's now been over a month and I am still trying to get a refund of 32 pounds from them. And all I keep getting is they are working it out with delivery company, which is not my problem. I would avoid this company they take your money but do not want to give it back when there is a problem. I am fuming and will never use them again. Shocking experience.

Avoid at all costs!

I posted on social media my experience and someone told me to look at their one star reviews and how shocked they were at the poor and unprofessional responses the owners replied to the 1 star reviews. I have been a customer like many of years, the quality has seemed to go down hill. I got earrings that are faulty, they refused to allow me to return them, instead sent me a link for a video that I could not open. I have now had to get the ACCC and Fair Trade involved. I have no idea who is running this business but I cannot believe they care more about making money then their reputation.

In reply to owner who does not know how to speak without lying. earring was sent to me damaged they refused to let me return it. Even fair trade said it was one of the worst people they have spoken with. All good ive told around 500 people my story so you have not customers due to this. Good luck to you!!! :) i will keep posting my email evidence and your responses to warn others.
