Poor Risk Assessment of EIS Product & Appalling Communication – Avoid
I invested in an EIS product through MMC. While their brochure did contain the standard warning that EIS investments can lose their status, there was no tailored risk assessment or specific guidance about the actual investment made on my behalf.
Unfortunately, that investment lost its EIS status—something that has serious tax consequences. What makes this even worse is MMC’s complete lack of follow-up. I sent several clearly worded letters asking for a response within a reasonable timeframe. To this day, I’ve received no individual reply—only generic communications clearly aimed at all investors.
This is not acceptable. When something goes wrong, a responsible investment firm should provide clarity, accountability, and personal communication. MMC has failed badly on all three fronts.
If you’re considering investing through MMC, be aware that you may be left in the dark if problems arise. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere.
