We are a UK-wide driving school specialising exclusively in intensive driving courses, helping learners gain confidence, build safe driving skills, and prepare properly for their practical test. We work with fully qualified, DVSA-approved local instructors across the country and take great care to match each learner with a patient, supportive instructor suited to their needs. Safety, clear communication, and steady progress are at the heart of everything we do — something that many parents especially value when enquiring on behalf of their children. Learning to drive can feel daunting, particularly with current nationwide pressures on driving test availability. We believe in being open and honest about how the process works, setting realistic expectations from the outset, and supporting learners throughout their journey rather than making promises we can’t control. Once a course is booked, we work hard behind the scenes to plan lessons carefully and assist with test booking and cancellations wherever possible, always aiming to give learners the best possible chance of success. We’re proud to offer a friendly, reliable, and professional service, and we welcome genuine feedback from learners and parents alike — it helps us continue to improve and helps future customers understand what to expect.

UPDATE: the below reply from mydrivinginstructor was incorrect. I went through the bank to get a refund as they refused to give me my deposit back. They didn’t refund me.
Booked a 36 hour course with a £350 deposit. Wasn’t told until AFTER the 24 day refund policy that my driving test would be in February after taking 36 hours worth of lessons in mid November. The driving test was also in Darlington and I live in Scotland. Also stated in the comments that I was pregnant and due end of December so I could only do those dates. Total scam website, no phone number and terrible customer service no one emails you back apart from one email I had which was incredibly rude that just said basically I was told the test might not be on that exact date - I didn’t think it would be MONTHS after completely defeats the object and they don’t tell you until they have secured your deposit. Cancelled and now £350 with a baby on the way and being ignored every day by customer service. Misleading, poor customer service and an absolute con.

Booked and paid the £200 pound deposit for a three day intensive driving course ending in June. Got an instructor allocated along with course details. We were made aware that there was a cut off date for a refund of the £200 but we weren't made aware until after the cut off date that hidden in the small print was a line absolving them of any obligation to have a test day reasonably close to the end of the course. There was a FOUR month wait from course end to test day which defeats the object of taking an intensive course. We obviously cancelled the course rather than waste another £500+ but feel aggrieved that we weren't made aware before the cut off date. £200 poorer but wiser to the sharp practices used by this company. Avoid like the plague.

I’m not surprised at Sian’s experience.
They treat driving instructors in a similar way.
Avoid

Absolutely shocking experience with this company. Paid for an intensive driving course. Got assigned a driving instructor who I can only assume is a con-man, only provided 20/40 lessons, cancelled my driving test and haven’t heard from the driving instructor since. No refund offered, no newly assigned driving instructor assigned. No responsibility taken from this company. I highly recommend you steer clear of this company and of any driving instructor they assign. They will take your money and you will not receive the full course or your money back.

After months of trying to find a driving instructor for my daughter we took the decision to use My Driving Instructor for a 36 hour intensive course starting on 17th July. I paid the deposit and we were provided with the name of a driving instructor and the date for the test at the end of July. A few weeks after this we received notification from the driving instructor that he was changing to teach automatic instead of manual and that if my daughter wanted to learn in a manual then he could no longer help. My Driving Instructor contacted me to advise that they would try and find another instructor but if they could not then I would get a full refund from the instructor (fortunately at that time I had only paid the deposit). I replied advising that I fully expected them to find another instructor particularly as we now had a date for the test. Fortunately they did find another instructor and payment for the course was made. As per the original agreement the course started on 17th July and went relatively well. Unfortunately, largely due to nerves my daughter was unsuccessful in her test and as per their guarantee My Driving Instructor paid for and booked another test. This is where things then started to go downhill. Following the unsuccessful test, I contacted the instructor and asked if we could book a few more lessons for which I was fully prepared to pay an additional amount. I advised that if she let me know how much I would immediately transfer the money. I never received a response to this though she did recommend to my daughter that we apply for a cancellation date and suggested two dates (we assumed because she was available on those dates) and an additional test centre, which was more rural and closer to where the instructor lived, to increase the opportunity of getting a sooner test. The first date she suggested was just 10 days after the initial test. We successfully managed to get a cancellation on one of the dates suggested at the new test centre. We immediately notified the instructor and subsequently sent numerous texts and emails chasing for a response. When we heard nothing I even emailed asking that if the instructor’s car was unavailable for the test would she be able to provide a lesson for my daughter in our family car so that she could at least practice the manoeuvres in a car of a different size. We heard nothing until the day before the test when the instructor simply said she was unavailable to help. I have to say I find this simple lack of courtesy and compassion absolutely shocking. My daughter resigned herself to doing the test in our family car but she was unfamiliar with the area around the new test centre. Fortunately I was able to spend the day before the test with my daughter driving around the area though of course we did not know the test routes. Both my daughter and I felt very let down both by the company, My Driving Instructor, and the instructor and felt that she had effectively been set up to fail by the instructor which obviously caused additional stress to an already stressful situation. Fortunately my daughter was successful second time around but no thanks to the instructor. Whilst My Driving Instructor did provide another test free of charge as per their term but what about continued lessons following the initial fail? - after all isn’t their guarantee that pupils will pass first time?

This company managed to get me an instructor that was understanding of my Autism and explained things in an easy-to-understand way. They gave me Calvvroom (Ipswich based) and I highly recommend him if you are from this area. mydrivinginstructor gave me the best price and options I needed and I passed first time!

Do not use the company My Driving Instructor. I had originally booked an intensive driving course in week commencing September 2022 with a test scheduled in Alnwick on completion of the course. Before I travelled to Alnwick my test booking was cancelled (Not by me and the more I think about it this may all be part of the scam) and the driving instructor was unavailable for the test booking I later managed to secure. We agreed to defer my intensive driving test starting in January 2023.
My last communication with Mr. Owen was in middle December when I checked in to make sure we were still proceeding with the course. Throughout all of week before the start of my driving course I tried phoning and texting the driving instructor without any response. I tried to make contact through the business I made the booking with Mr. Steve Dutton at mydrivinginstructor co uk and they only provided a general holding email and only once sent an email to Mr. Owen asking him to contact me.
I had paid the full driving course fee and now find myself without any course and will have to rebook my driving test, additionally losing the money I had paid for accommodation in Alnwick in anticipation of this driving course and test.
Do not use this company or their other driving course booking company www intensive-driving com
None of the businesses provide a phone number and they are unwilling to provide any sort of support to you.

I used My Driving Instructor and it was excellent, they got me an instructor in my area. I done the 24 hr course in 4 day, so 6 hr days, i managed to get a test the day after as well,

Paid in full for a two day intensive course. Set up lessons with the driver they supplied. She cancelled on me FIVE times!!!! When I asked for a refund, she told me to speak to the course organisers, they told me to seek refunds from the instructor. In the meantime I did manage to find an instructor willing to give me lessons at short notice so I could still make the test. Due to a complete lack of communication from Mydrivinginstructor, they cancelled my test 4 days before the test without even consulting me. Now they're telling me no refund on my deposit and I may have to wait half a year now to take another test. Totally unprofessional, total let down, a very expensive rip off
