NASA Federal Credit Union Avis 4

I tried to open a $100,000 cd because they consistently had great rates. I was denied a membership account, in order to fund a cd, because my credit to debt ratio wasn't acceptable. However, my credit rating is 808, exceptional, and I have no debt. Experian had no inquiries on my account despite me unfreezing it for NASA. When I called back, 4 separate times to ask why I was denied, I never received a call back. I was a victim of identity theft and wondered if something false was in whatever account they looked at. I explained that in my messages to them. Now, NASA has all my personal and financial information, I couldn't open a cd, and they don't return calls. Read their yelp reviews, they're horrible and many experienced the same thing.

I am now banned from making online payments with them. Yes, they literally will not take my money! It's a a Credit Card account and so now my monthly payment options are:

1) Setup a Bank Account with them ($8/month) - No thank you, I don't need another bank account nor am I going to pay more fees

2) Mail in a Check - Really??? You want to write a check, pay for postage, wait for processing... in 2025?

3) Visit my nearest Credit Union branch - 45 mins away from me.

No thanks to all. I'm now having to do a balance transfer to get that all taken care of. So what happened? Well, I chose a secondary account to have the monthly money be withdrawn from and a few times didn't have enough in the account to cover and so now I'm banned. My fault? Absolutely, but understand that I also was not able to change the account online where it was coming from nor do manual payments.

It's really not worth it. It's not.

A few months ago, I signed up for their "Premiere eChecking" account which said no monthly fee is charged if you make 3 BillPay payments. So I have been making 3 or more BillPay payments to my credit cards diligently every month. But I noticed that NASA FCU did charge me the $7 the monthly fee the last couple of months of September and October. I tried to dispute this through secure messaging, multiple times, but they just wouldn't acknowledge that they're outright dishonoring what they publicized on their website "No monthly maintenance fee - With direct deposit or BillPay+ and eStatements". The original account description page has vanished mysteriously but it's still recorded on the Wayback Machine site. I always keep screenshots for my records. They employ a very sneaky way to take money from their customers knowing some customers just won't monitor account activities carefully.

I'm so happy with my credit union of 20+ years. I mistakenly used a cash advance from one account to another. I called and they said to transfer the money back and I wouldn't be charged the fee. I was, but when I called back, they had no trouble refunding the fee.
