For almost 70 years, NICEIC has been the UK’s largest certification body for electrical businesses with over 40,000 currently certified with us. As the industry leader, we drive the highest standards of competence and safety. We assess, certify and train electricians, plumbers, renewable energy installers, and gas and heating engineers. To become certified, businesses must demonstrate their compliance with technical standards and industry best-practice through rigorous assessments and continuing professional development. Trade professionals look to us for certification and technical leadership, and value the credibility our name gives theirs. We provide ongoing advice and support, and list their businesses on our online ‘Find a trusted NICEIC tradesperson’ tool. We help build public trust in trade professionals – and we never compromise on that trust. We work alongside government and industry to shape policy and drive standards. Many UK businesses, government organisations, local authorities and landlords will only work with NICEIC-certified businesses. The NICEIC brand is owned and managed by Certsure (LLP).

The training centre was good but 70 % of the exam wasn’t even covered during the day. When I sat the practice exam it seemed quite easy but the actual exam was mainly guesswork.

I was told I only needed to complete 2391-52 in order to be added to the rented sector scheme. After spending £1500 on that and the assessment booked in I received a call to be told I needed to do extra qualifications at a cost of around £3000. Brilliant. I am now in the process of demanding compensation.

We all felt that the course was rushed and did not get enough time to go through the EV code of practice book, considering the exam at the end was book related there wasn’t sufficient preparation time. My opinion is to do away with the power point and base to course on how to navigate the book to relate to the information being taught.

This course was super and most informative, I learned a great deal from it and can now do minor electrical repairs safely without having to get our sparks in all the time. Our instructor, Lee was very knowledgeable and great at explaining all aspects of the role. I would definitely recommend this course to our maintenance operatives :)

1 day EV charging course.
Morning, we rattled through most of the book. Information overload and barely enough time to make notes.
Afternoon, we didn’t have a practice paper available so we just spent 2 hours revising the book by ourselves (I wouldn’t call that training).
Then dropped into exam. Tutor had trouble logging 3 of us on, after it didn’t work a couple of time he just left without saying. So I had to find someone at the venue to sort the internet. Started exam 45mim late.
I managed to pass the exam but don’t feel I learnt much.
Venue, lunch and facilities were all okay, tutor was knowledgeable, but the organisation was probably the worst course I have been on.

When we first arrived the trainer told us the wifi wasnt working and we might not be able to do the exam that day. Then he said he haf sorted it. Then he told us the plan for the day which involved learning for the first half of thw day, then have lunch. After lunch we wefe supposed to do a practice paper then the exam. At about 11am we told we might not be able to do the exam again because they jadnt sent the codes through. Later we told that we would be doing the exam but no practice paper as the niceic had changed the procedure for the training course without telling the trainer. So after lunch we just waited around to do the exam doing very little learning and were told we should use the time to revise (I could of just done that on my own, I had paid to learn) then when it came to exam time we were given laptops that for 3 of us didnt connect to the internet. The exam adudicator didnt have a clue and the trainer just left after one attempt to connect to the internet leaving the 3 of us waiting as we were told were not aloud to leave the room. Eventially someone from building came in and sorted the connection but not until most people had already left.
Overall the course was a waste of time as we didnt get taught anything an electrician doesnt already know.

Overall experience was not too bad. I felt that the right bits was not covered here whilst learning the 18th edition. A lot of the class went in to the test with more questions than answers and most passed by chance.
Facilities were nice and the staff are polite.
Certificate took a wile to come I had to remind them it hadn’t been sent in the post.

We have found our experience with NICEIC to be extremely disappointing. The organisation appears to have lost all human touch, relying almost entirely on automated emails, which makes it incredibly difficult to resolve even the simplest queries.
Trying to get clear, practical answers is an uphill battle, and communication feels impersonal and inefficient throughout. On the rare occasions we have dealt with staff directly, they have been consistently unhelpful and ineffective, offering little to no support when it is actually needed.
Overall, this has been the worst experience we have had with any third-party accreditation provider.
The course was tight for time & would be better over 2 days or from 8-6pm
Overall a good course tough exam ,better to prep before you do the course

NICEIC's training department staff can understand candidate's problems and their requirements, and makes adjustment in scheduling and rescheduling the event. Mr. Glenn Francis is a higly skilled and well experienced tutor, helped us in understanding the structure and the content of 18th Edition BS 7671:A2. I wish NICEIC to have success in their future mission and objectives.
Sincerely,

I found the electrical course to be highly beneficial. The trainer explained complex topics clearly and ensured everyone understood the key principles. The practical elements were especially useful, and I now feel more confident working safety and effectively.
