Over promised and under delivered

Full of shiny marketing rubbish, ignore the family movers card they keep playing on.

The two guys that moved me were great. The company let them down and didnt bring a third person to help, resulting in me helping shift furniture as it was getting late in the day.

No complaints to the two guys, but given the amount they charged they let their staff and me down.

Two days seemed unnecessary. The 1 bloke they sent to pack took under half a day and highlighted this is an easier job.

The booking forms are particularly difficult to deal with and to cut through. They aren't clear and are difficult to wrap your head around.

The office was unhelpful and gave little in the way of confidence in advance of the move. Their tone on the phone was unfortunate, and seemed confused or put out when i was asking for help.

Post move they charged me twice to enter the Bath Clean Air Zone. The driver didnt require it on the first day. The office have been slow to respond to a basic refund request, taking over a week to then say we will respond within 15 days.

They have a shiny message but they let me down. Their movers are great blokes, but approach this company with extreme caution.

Damaged my property and refused to fix

One of my neighbours recently employed Nightingale and the vehicle driver drove one of their removal vehicles onto my property damaging it. This was captured on camera and witnessed by another neighbour. I immediately contacted Nightingale via phone and was told to email them, which I did. I got a response saying they would look into it and reply within 15 days.

The following day, the team were back and when challenged, the driver admitted causing the damage and assured me the office would arrange for the damage to be repaired.

After 4 and a half weeks of chasing them via phone and email, they eventually stated I would have to pay their insurance excess of £500 if I wanted to pursue this way, or alternatively they could offer compensation that would cover approx 10% of the cost I would have to pay to fix the damage.

They seem to think using the term 'family business' is a get-out-of-jail free card they can use to absolve them of responsibility for rectifying damage they caused - avoid.

Stress free move

After a very stressful time with solicitors etc it was lovely to experience such a smooth moving day, the crew couldn’t do enough for us and left us all sorted before they departed on the final day.

Amazing team!

The lead up to my move was very stressful one with dates constantly changing. The office staff were very patient and helpful throughout it all and helped us to remain calm with their support through it all. They gave me the confidence to know that no matter what was going on with the sale & purchase of my house, Nightingales would ensure they were there to pack my things and move me with no hassle. The crew worked their socks off!!!! They even sent a 'welcome card' to our new address once we moved! Thank you to all the team from start to finish. Would definitely recommend!

My items were in storage when I realised a big van would not be able to get anywhere near my new property!! Nightingale swung into action and we are now moved in and living comfortable thanks to Phil and the team!

Jobsworth company

We provided a detailed breakdown with pictures of what was needing to be removed as the quote team were unable to do a video call until the Thursday before we moved on the Monday. Following the video call, the quote doubled in price but had no choice at that stage to go ahead. They decided to move us on the Friday and the Monday and we complied. Nothing would be done without them first receiving a signed copy of the quote plus full payment which we did. On the Monday when they arrived at our new property the vendor had failed to vacate the property and did not do so until 6.30pm and therefore one of the removal lorries had to return to base in Weston-super-Mare from Worcester in order to return the next day. However nothing could be done until we paid £600, which we did. They also wanted us to return the signed agreement which was extremely difficult as we had moved to a remote area, had no internet and very little telephone signal. They suggested that we drive out looking for a signal in order to return the signed document. They would not return our belongings until we did this. This is in a chaotic setting, with three horses and four dogs to settle in with nowhere for us to sleep. Company policy apparently and there was absolutely no leeway (or humanity) whatsoever. In the end we got a daughter who was at her home to sign the agreement which begs the question - what was the point? So a removal that started out costing £1000 +Vat cost just short of £3000. The money was one thing but the inflexibility was astounding.

The removal guys were excellent and none of this reflects on their standard of service and professionalism. That's why I have given two stars and not one.

Wish I had read Trust Pilot review first !
Used Nightingale from Weston S Mare recently...Terrible experience.
They will threaten to keep you stuff on the lorry and take it away unless you pay more money.
I see from reviews that they have done this several times so I guess their con is to quote low then get more money by using threats.
Office staff are a joke...they just back the threat up and won't even discuss the situation.
Legal action being taken so they can't keep doing this.

DO NOT USE ! Threats made !

Avoid at all costs! If I could give them a zero, I would! Only wish I had read their reviews before I used them. The guys who did the removal were excellent, the office staff made a huge blunder which cost me and additional £1000. They packed the truck and wouldn’t give our stuff back until we paid additional charges to have it delivered! They are not located in Bath, they are in Western Super Mare.
DO NOT USE !

Attempted theft and successful extortion!
Nightingale Removals from Weston-super-Mare.
Moved last Friday with this company. At the end of the day was told I had to pay an additional £600 within the next 10 minutes or they would leave with all my household items until Monday! Office staff informed me it wasn't their problem that my wife and I and 2 kids would have literally not a toothbrush, clothes or anything to sleep on over the weekend. I paid and they left anyway meaning we had to check into a hotel for the evening at a cost of £250.
They returned the next day to finish the job but only having successfully extorted the money from me and having effectively stolen my goods.
Thieves and extortionists with no conscious issue at all in leaving a family with nothing for the weekend.
Disgusting..

Office staff appalling, additional charges regularly invoiced

Removal guys are brilliant but the office staff are appalling. Moved out of house in August into storage paid upfront for removals to and out of storage with storage costs paid monthly. Every invoice received was wrong and had to be challenged to be corrected. When requested to come out of storage with over a months notice initially told no can't do that date it would have to be a week later then after discussions they said ok we can do that date. Then when the final invoice was received an additional charge was added that had never previously been mentioned and was not listed within any documentation previously sent to me or the companies terms and conditions. When challenged I was told that if I refused to pay it they would not return my belongings and there was nobody higher than the office manager that I could discus this with. Avoid all dealings with this company

We asked Nightingale for a removal quote, they sent through email but also sent via post. We received a card to say we had an A4 letter to collect from our post office as there was insufficient postage, we needed to pay £2, it does not tell you who it’s from. We were most disappointed when it was Nightingale. My husband took the morning off to collect at the post office didn’t open until 9.30. When we contacted Nightingale, we just got a sorry that happened, not nearly good enough
