Steeped in Hebridean history, but always forward thinking, our family run distillery in the Outer Hebrides produces some of Scotland’s very finest artisan spirits including the multi award winning Downpour Gin range and our soon to launch Nunton Whisky.

Say hello to Downpour Scottish Dry Gin. Citrus, spice and blossoms of wild Hebridean heather. Our special Scottish Gin is bursting with botanicals, drenching you in big bold flavours you can taste in every drop. Also available in Pink Grapefruit and Sloe and Bramble editions, in our custom designed, environmentally friendly bottle.
Nunton Steadings
Built way back in the 1700s, the beautifully historic Nunton Steadings building is the place we call home. Situated in Benbecula, right at the heart of island life, it’s where we proudly bring Whisky production back to our islands. Currently under restorations work, our B-listed building is undergoing some loving attention to bring it back to bustling island life.

The Sloe and Bramble Gin is simply delicious, our first try from this new business… we have just ordered Christmas Crackers with little bottles inside, a brilliant idea…
The parcels arrived promptly, beautifully packed and protected to avoid potential damage in transit.
If you haven’t tried this wonderful source from a wild and windy Scottish isle I would certainly add it to your to do list. I thoroughly recommend them.

Fabulous Grapefruit gin
Fabulous Grapefruit gin. I can’t drink any other now! I’ve been buying this since 2021 when we visited the distillery. Delivery is swift, I love the bottles (they’re on my windowsill) and the newsletter brings a blast of Hebridean air to my home.

Great little distillery
Great little distillery! Being able to taste the different gins with the recommended mixers was great. Honestly the best gin I've ever tasted. Will definitely be back to visit but in the meantime buying online was very easy and very quick delivery. I would highly recommend the distillery and the gin.

My favourite gin
I first heard about North Uist Distillery when they featured in a TV documentary about how they won the postcode lottery and set up their distillery. I bought my first bottle of Downpour while watching the programme and have purchased several since. It is by far my favourite gin. What I really love, too, is the personal handwritten note they send with the bottle via mail order. It costs little but makes my custom feel more valued. I hope one day I can visit the distillery itself.
