Northumbrian Cottages Avis 

Booked “South View apartment” for 6 people in Alnmouth for 20th May 2023 for 1 week paid over £500 deposit and realised we are in the wrong area and need to be in Beadnell. Tried to alter the booking but the owner (not the company we booked with, Northumbrian Cottages said we have to cancel and if they don’t fill it we loose the full amount. We were prepared to pay the £100 admin charge as stated in the contract but not loose over £500. We gave 4 months notice and wasn’t taking our business away from Northumbrian Cottages just wanted to change the booking. No help whatsoever….so
If anyone wants this area and this apartment for 1 week in 20/5/2023 let me know, thanks Jane Easter 🥰 can’t post email not allowed I’m in face book or I message

A badly led co now owned by Sykes. Refused to honour cancellation despite Gp note and premium being paid. Book with owners direct not some huge co that cares little about clients

The owners of the cottage we were due to stay in cancelled our holiday. Northumbrian Cottages failed to contact us and we arrived with no where to stay and they did provide any help. We ending up finding alternative accommodation and Northumbrian Cottages have only returned some of the money. They have refused to return the booking fee and insurance money.

Having booked a cottage in January 2021, I had to chase them via website, email and attempted phone calls to get confirmation and receipt of deposit. Eventually they emailed me to say booking had been cancelled and no deposit taken. It took 8 weeks to get this reply and was time wasted in which we could have booked elsewhere.

Do not use this company.
We could not cancel our booking by telephone or email. There was two families travelling and because of Covid this was not allowed. We could not contact them and so 2 of us ended up travelling and staying in a house for 6.
There are so many companies operating in this area.
Do not use this company.

Dreadful company I am trying to cancel a booking with them. On hold for hours, e mails not answered. I’ve even written a letter and delivered by recorded delivery. I have had no response. Do not use them

UTTERLY AWFUL!
If it was possible to give negative stars I would.
I cannot understate how utterly useless this company is. I have been trying to contact them for over a week I have been on hold for over 10 hours. I contacted many of their regional sales manager Via linked in and only one had the courtesy to responded and she was dismissive and unhelpful after the initial platitudes.

Do not book with this company.
