Payment doesn't go through when trying, site has now been taken down. Realised when I tried to make the payments last week something was wrong so cancelled my cards and now they've tried to use my accounts to make payments and tried ringing me today pretending to be my bank fraud team.
Confirmed with my bank this was not them, looks as though they were wanting me to transfer money from my account to a safe place.

As all other reviews, unable to pay for anything. Possibly a scam so bank contacted and cards cancelled 😔

Had the same issue as everyone else. Tried 2 cards, several times and got a message that transaction failed each time. Tried to get their website this morning but it now seems unreachable, for me anyway. Have put a freeze on my cards and am going to contact my bank. If a scam, these people make me sick!

It is a scam. When you type your card details, report this fraud issue to your bank immediately.

Seems like everyone here has the same experience: finding good books at great price, but after entering card details, an error pops up saying transaction has been unsuccessful. Tried it 3 times with 2 different cards, same error appeared every time. I decided to have a look at reviews and - oh boy - the same thing keeps happening to everyone. A big red flag that this company is not legit. Cancelled both of my cards. These dodgy scammers are coming up with legit-looking ways to get money out of people. Lesson learnt.

Possible scam to get card details as payments are always declined. I've frozen my card until I can contact my card provider.

Same experience as others, entered payment details several times, each time the payment was declined! Have contacted my bank so they are aware & taken screenshots as evidence. A very worrying experience & time consuming, please avoid this company!

Me too, put my card details in , multiple cards and I feel a fool. Cancelled all three cards but I hate the feeling in my gut, worrying about it. Shame, as others have said. There was a book I wanted.
Very new company at companies House, 20 May 2024, name of Ruth Mumbua. Same registered address as a self publishing company.

If you have already tried to make a purchase on this site, contact your bank immediately to let them know you have been a victim of fraud and have your bank cards cancelled and replaced.

This is a fake store masquerading as a book retailer. Lures you in with cheap prices, gets you to the 'checkout' and allows you to enter your card and contact details, then claims the transaction failed. By which time they have all the information they were after all along, in order to remove money from your account or harass you with spam calls.

Ignore the supposed customer service persons posting on here - notice they are only responding to those commenting on payment failure and not the accusations of being scammers. What type of store would have a broken checkout for a week?!

Website has only just been registered, no social media profiles, no positive feedback whatsoever, no reputation, no industry connections - as obvious a scam site as you can imagine. Avoid at all costs.

Tried to buy a book. Put in card details and always results in payment error. Now worried about card details being compromised. Wish I looked at reviews beforehand. Avoid.

I could not pay for the book. Very suspicious, are they taking credit card details? Keep away!

Same suspicion as others - unaccountable difficulty in processing payment.

This website is possibly a scam as you can't get past the payment page despite entering details numerous times. It keeps showing a payment error message no matter what card or device you use. It's a shame as the prices were a great bargain & they had some titles which I really wanted.

Two futher issues:

1) They never answer emails or queries via website forms, which made me even more suspicious that this is not a legit company with actual people working there.

2) On the payment help page, instead of actual words of help, they have copy-pasted some gobbledygook in the FAQ section. Huge red flag.

Best avoided until & unless they can certify that this is a legitimately running company that is actively working to resolve its website issues. I would suggest putting a note on the payment page stating that it's currently unavailable or something, so that people stop submitting their personal details & are made aware that there's a technical problem (which they are hopefully trying to resolve). They should also offer PayPal as a payment option for further peace of mind. If not, then the whole site needs to be flagged & reported for possible fraudulent activity.

Very fake "testimonials". Saw on May 24, 2024 that one of these alleged "customers" ordered from this fake company "multiple times" despite the company being incorporated 4 days prior. No way this is possible. Plus, why have a crazy discount on things that aren't even listed as retail. And judging by reviews already here, I think this is a new way from a "company" known as Barda Books a few months ago is trying to get people to buy stuff, as well as saying payments are being declined which is going to result in scam calls for weeks to come.

Not happy with the payment issue on the website, makes you feel very vulnerable to being scammed. Avoid

DO NOT USE. This seems like a possible/probable scam. Same experience as others here - card details added and payment not working. Company registered 8 days ago so all seems very suspect. I'll be contacting back to let them know card details could be compromised

Trying to buy some books. Still not able to pay for them. There's only one in stock too and I don't want to miss out on the book.
