I noticed a charge on my debit card in the amount of $29.99 by Numerade that was not authorized. As a matter of fact I've never even heard of Numerade so I'm not even sure how my personal information-( email address, DEBIT CARD INFORMATION) was even obtained. I need a full refund asap

Numerade subscriptions include a free trial and are self-cancellable. After the trial ends, the plan is billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All subscriptions, both month-to-month and annual plans, are recurring and will automatically renew after the end of each paid subscription period. In this instance, the free trial was not canceled in the required time frame.

Total scam. Before you but the subscription, they show you screenshots of questions answered by educators on the videos, but when you buy the subscription, all the videos turn out to be AI generated and they don’t answer any of your questions correctly.

If I could give them not stars I would, I subscribed for monthly service and found that the application was not worthy and very useless. I have tried to cancel few days after they charged me. They said they would not refund my money and the worst thing is I had to pay for cancellation, no sense, the same amount you pay for the monthly service.
I will report this company, because even when you pay to end the subscription, they will still charge your card every month, don’t know how to remove my card information from their system, this is the second time I am paying for cancellation 😞😞😞
Please do not waste your money!!

Hey Christelle. Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. Unfortunately, a refund was not able to be issued as we found that you did not cancel your free trial before it expired. As with all subscription services, Numerade subscriptions include a free trial and are self-cancellable directly in one's billing page. In regards to the claim of "had to pay for cancellation, no sense, the same amount you pay for the monthly service" - We do not charge users to cancel.
Horrible fraudulent people
Horrible fraudulent people. I hate this company, they charged me for an annual premium membership because apparently I had signed up for the free trial even though my card information didn’t go through. Because of this, I didn’t think my trial had even begun and closed out of the tab to explore other options. Never got a refund, they are a terrible horrible disgusting company and I hate them. afraid to even visit the website again because I don’t want to be accidentally charged for something that is nonrefundable. Unsubscribed/blocked their emails and made them delete my account/info permanently.

While there have been no new charges or recent activity, I do see you signed up for our 7 day free trial back on February 21, 2023. The free trial expired on February 28, 2023, and was not cancelled- which triggered the subscription (the annual plan was chosen when you signed up). This annual plan did not auto renew and was cancelled on February 28th, 2024. If you have any further questions please e-mail me at emily@numerade.com.

This would get no stars if I could, as everyone else i have been charged for something that I did not ask for. I emailed and got an automated response I have gone to my bank and told them to trear it as fraud. I would not trust the positive reviews as honest.

-Your free trial expired on Feb 11th.
-You emailed our team to cancel you on Mar 11th.
As the trial was not cancelled, it resulted in the monthly subscription.

I entered “free” 7day trial and and money from account were taken. BE AWARE OF THIS!!! Numerade I want my refund. Can you do something with it?

To reiterate what we found- it appears you have created separate accounts using multiple emails. The accounts you shared with us were already cancelled with no charges, and it is highly likely another was created and not cancelled. Please note that creating multiple accounts is against our policy, however we are awaiting your reply in order to locate and help cancel this extra account.

SCAMMERS!! Fraudulent behavior.
Be very careful giving this site your card info. I tried out the free trial in October, and found that there were way too many errors and incorrect answers for a service that I would be paying for, so I was not interested in renewing.
Customer service agreed to refund me for the year that I had accidently paid for, but said they were still going to charge me for a month since I was one day late cancelling my trial. I received confirmation of my cancellation and that I would not be charged further.
I noticed a few days ago, however, that they have been charging me monthly ever since, and then had the nerve to argue and tell me that I agreed to some sort of deal which is 100% a lie. This is fraudulent behavior.

As our support team shared on your ticket, we've already issued one courtesy prorated refund for your original annual/$119.88USD subscription, however, you then accepted a special offer to receive 2 free months then put on a $6.99 plan (this was manually accepted and not cancelled post free months). While this new plan is now cancelled, we would not be able to issue another refund as well.

Beware of Numerade: A Scammy Nightmare
If you're considering signing up for Numerade, think again. This platform is nothing short of a shady operation, designed to take your money and run.
I thought I was being savvy by canceling my membership before the trial period ended, but Numerade had other plans. Despite my clear cancellation, they still charged me, then had the audacity to deny it altogether. It's clear they have no qualms about manipulating their customers and putting the blame on us.
And I'm not alone in this nightmare. Many others have had similar experiences, with Numerade playing fast and loose with their hard-earned cash. It's a scammy place, plain and simple.
Save yourself the trouble and avoid Numerade like the plague. Don't waste your money or, worse, risk your personal data on this deceitful platform. There are plenty of other, more reputable options out there for your educational needs. Trust me, Numerade isn't worth the headache.

Users who properly cancel their free trial may never be charged, as this is all automated by a major, national 3rd party subscription & payment processor. Our team has shared the activity log that unfortunately shows when the trial ended vs. when it was cancelled. Unfortunately, a refund cannot be issued when no clear issues arose other than the trial not being cancelled. We understand that this is not the outcome you hoped for, but we must adhere to this policy to ensure fairness across all our users.

Shady Business Practices
There is a reason as to why most of the reviews are 1 star. You sign up for the free trial, make an account, they don't send you any confirmation email.
The first email I EVER get from them is literally the day I posted this review, and now they're refusing to give me a refund.
Also, sites like Chegg make it easy to cancel your subscription.
The fact that you have to click through 5 separate steps, and also have email correspondence to ensure your subscription is canceled should be a massive red flag.
I'm going to the bank, these sort of practices should not be tolerated, save your money and don't waste your time with this.
EDIT: They say I've put in a prior subscription, but I have literally no memory nor records regarding having done a free trial previously.I've checked my history on my devices I use for schoolwork and the earliest I've ever been on their site is literally a week ago. Saying that I've somehow done a free trial before (which if that were the case how could I have done another free trial???) but canceled it. I haven't used your service in 2023.
The lack of confirmation emails in this site would make all of this a non-issue, but since they don't do that, that's how you get these sorts of situations.
They try to say that the email could have gotten into my spam but I literally never got an email, even after checking my spam folder.
UPDATE: I tested with a new email, and apparently they do send some welcome email but it gets sent to spam.
Apparently, my email was used to make an account last year, but I have no record of this (I check the history of my devices but the furthest back my history goes w/ Numerade is literally last week), but it still doesn't explain how the account with this email had two different free trials.

While I do see your support ticket from today, 2/13, has been resolved, please allow me to summarize some key points.
1) It appears you have created a subscription with us before, having one back in 2023.
2) You signed up again on February 4th, 2024, for a second time. Unfortunately, this second free trial was not cancelled, thus the monthly subscription charge (the trial expired on February 11th).
3) Our CS team manually cancelled on your behalf today, and you retain access until March 11th (a refund was unable to be issued).
4) Numerade subscriptions include a free trial and are easily self-cancellable. Users do not need to both self cancel and email us to cancel. Most users self cancel in their billing page, but should they need assistance, may email us and we will cancel for them (as in your case).
5) All registered users are sent a welcome email, general marketing emails, as well as a cancel confirmation email once they cancel or their paid subscription ends- we encourage you to please check your spam folder in case any of these were missed. Users may also refer to the billing page which shows them all the information regarding their trial, end date, and plan information.

This is the best customer service ever
This is the best customer service ever! I noticed I got billed yesterday and freaked out. Yes they don’t have a number to call BUT if you email them they respond in minutes!! I emailed them regarding the billing and they made sure that there were going to be no more payments and made sure I was getting my money back. Emily was amazing !!

The worst company ever had no reminders that my free trial was expiring and no contact number for them either and all the answers they kept giving were wrong so AVOID at all costs unless you want to fail your tests having to go through my bank to get the £15.99 back

Given that the trial was not cancelled, a refund was not able to be issued in this instance, however you do retain full access for the month. We also provide users the option to receive a reminder before their trial ends in order for them to decide whether to cancel the trial or enter into their subscription. Numerade helps a lot in searching for the answers in my take home problem sets and quizzes. However, you still need to study the solution and not by just copying them.

DON’T SIGN UP FOR THIS SCAM. I cancelled my subscription and they still billed me. They are probably going to come up with excuses like they did for the other victims. Just spare yourselves and don’t even try the trial. I was completely sure that I cancelled it and even received an email for it. However, they stated a small, sly comment where it says, “ If you opted into a new offer or subscription plan, please disregard this message.” They included that line so they can’t be “fault”. I feel extremely unsafe that my card details are stored in their system still. Extortion of money from students is insane!!

As shared on your support email, rather than cancelling, you manually opted into a special promotion (2 free months of Numerade followed by being put on the $6.99/month plan until cancelled). The free months expired, and your $6.99 plan began as it was not cancelled. Our team cancelled your plan for you so it does not renew.
