NYC Book Publishers Avis 24

I published my first book with NYC Book Publishers in December of 2025. They charged me about $1000 more than I was informed about when I agreed to use their publishing services.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They lied and defrauded me out of $10,050. They promised that my book would be published in Barnes and Noble bookstores, but I needed to pay for the printing. They added to the promise that I would get my investment back if it didn’t sell. I agreed. After three months they sent me a letter saying that I had sold 2500 copies through this process and that I’d receive royalties totaling over $26,000. They then encouraged me to do another printing, which I agreed for I had a letter promising me $26,000! That money was to arrive on January 13. No money came and then they informed me that Barnes and Noble had the issue and now my royalties would arrive in June. I contacted Barnes and Noble directly and they informed me that they are not carrying my book. NY Publishing lied to me, and I am getting this word out to every potential author!

Jason Colliins, Sr. Marketing & Publishing Consultant was my contact. He comports very professionally and with kindness and convinced me to pay for the printing of my books and take advantage of this “Barnes and Noble” opportunity. Sean Peterson, Publishing Consultant, took over the contact with me. As I wrote, I received a letter stating that I sold 2500 books and that’s when Sean convinced me to do a second printing for sale. His push came at the time I received their letter. Again, Jan. 13 came and went, and they blamed Barnes and Noble indicating that I’ll receive royalties in June. Ellie Sotelo reached out to me when I showed them my negative reviews of their company. She assured me that my royalties would come in June and that this was unprecedented. She promised some very promising marketing opportunities. But nothing materialized. They are dishonest and authors need to take their manuscripts elsewhere.

I always thought SEO was just for blogs and business site. NYC Book Publishers showed me how it works for authors too. They optimized my author site and my Amazon page and I’m already seeing my name pop up in searches. Way more readers are finding me now. 👍

Publishing my first book was stressful until I found them. They were patient with all my newbie questions and actually listened to what I wanted. Made the whole process away easier than I expect. Would definitely recommend to first time authors.

NYC Book Publishers let me pick only what I needed. I was on a tight budget and just wanted formatting + ebook launch help. They didn’t upsell me or make me feel cheap for skipping the big package. The team was responsive clear about cost and actually seemed invested in my book doing well.

Currently using NYC Book Publishers for my book marketing. We’re doing Amazon ads first then emails newsletters next week. They don’t just take over they walk me through each step. Still waiting on final results but so far the process has been solid and they seem invested in the books success.

I have worked with this publisher since June 2025 to help me publish my book on Amazon. Although there were some good successes by Daniel and Kate, I haven't heard a response from them since January 29, 2026. Their website can no longer be found by Safari. Their phone number no longer works. Are they still in business?

I’ve never worked with a more supportive team. They really listen. Answering ever signal email I sent and I sent a lot. The communication, patience and genuine care made the whole experience amazing.🤩

It started great, I was excited to launch the second edition of my book! The goal was to add a new chapter, refresh and update the rest for a huge event launch. Daniel said, "no problem, it will be fine." But it wasn't, we missed the opportunity, he never apologized, never got on a call with me. He just continued to do what he needed to complete the project. Overall I found errors in formatting that delayed the project. The margins on the back, and the clarity of my cover was not like the original and I requested it be fixed. I requested a proper off-boarding meeting where I could receive all my final art work and manuscript. He said uploaded it to my amazon kdp, I am still waiting for the final cover art to be sent to me, along with PR offers he claimed to have to help promote the book. It never came. This process began in April and it's the end of August. Ultimately I got the book done but the experience was not great at all.

This was a terrible investment for my business. We purchased the Amazon best sellers package that was supposed to guarantee a certain sales amount, with the promise of achieving the amazon best sellers list within 3 months. I was kind enough to give them 4, and hardly any sales were made. The sales that were made were from my own personal marketing efforts made on the businesses tiktok page.

AUTHORS, BEWARE. NYC Book Publishers is falsely claiming my book as one of their past bestsellers. I have never—nor would I ever—work with this company. An author personally reached out after they were sent my book as proof of the company’s so-called success. This is a blatant scam. Do your research before trusting any publishing service

Avoid this publisher at all costs! My experience with them was an absolute nightmare—slow, unprofessional, and completely incompetent.
I submitted my manuscript in August 2024, expecting it to be published by November 2024, as per our agreement. Instead, it dragged on until January 2025, with little to no communication or accountability. They ignored my repeated feedback on layout and formatting, and when I finally received the author's copies, they were riddled with errors I had already pointed out!
To make matters worse, they were contractually obligated to publish my book on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, yet I had to chase them down endlessly to get them to fulfill this basic requirement. Their disregard for professionalism and customer service is astounding.
At this point, I am demanding a refund for the absolute mess they made of my book. If you value your time, money, and sanity, stay far away from this company.

I purchased a book marketing package from this company. Things were slow to get started and near the end of the third week we finally had a phone call. The person was yelling at me on the phone because I said I would prefer to cancel and get a refund. The phone call escalated and I said, I am hanging up. They then had me talk to the President George Morrison, escalated yelling and I again hung up. Then received a text telling me if I didn't respond to him within the hour he would take my book which he doesn't own, off of Amazon and take my book rights. He then called me back and begged me to work something out with his company. I said, I didn't trust them after the text and emails about my book. They didn't publish the book not theirs to do anything with. About an hour later they refunded my money and took my book down from Amazon. Buyer beware! Authors beware.

The company contacts me on a daily basis to remove this review. Removing this would let them get away with what they did to me and my intellectual property.
