I don't typically post reviews, and clearly OCVH does not need me to vouch for them, but they are a truly incredible practice. Thanks to a referral from another lifelong customer of theirs, I brought my critically ill parrot to Dr. Briggs in 2015 following numerous visits to emergency hospitals with no resolution. Dr. Briggs not only saved his life, but took the time to educate me on how to provide him with the best ongoing care. I can't stress enough how poor the outcome was looking before his treatment. I only wish I had found him sooner.
It is now 2018 and I have been back regularly for routine checkups and grooms with Briggs. I do not have a negative thing to say about a single experience I have had. My parrot has been sneezing recently so I spoke to Kathy (who is always wonderful), who assisted in providing me with a recommendation from Dr. Gottlieb to bring him in sooner rather than later if possible (bird owners know that seemingly minor symptoms can turn serious very quickly). She then made me an appointment for the same day with Dr. Crawford as Briggs was not working. Dr. Crawford was awesome. Caring, patient, knowledgeable, and educational. I already had complete trust in this practice, but getting to meet another doctor here made me love them even more.
The technician and CSR staff supporting the superhero vets here are just good people. I don't know how to put it more simply. Everyone I have interacted with has been professional, friendly, warm and caring. Everyone. Even the staff members that walk by go out of their way to acknowledge me and say hello excitedly to my bird. It's obvious they are passionate about animals and see them in the same special way that all animal lovers do. I have the utmost respect for their dedication, sensitivity and empathy, especially considering the emotion and stress that comes with their line of work. I have to mention Melissa in particular. We both met each other on our first days at OCVH, just from opposite ends of the counter. She is an excellent example of what makes this practice so special. Niko is also fairly often the lucky tech that has to wipe bird poop up during our visits. Thanks, man.
To wrap this novel up, I feel very fortunate to have this team and would recommend them with absolute confidence to anyone. I was abused as a child, and crossing paths with my parrot 14 years ago saved my life and got me through it. Of course the people at OCVH don't know that, but that is exactly the point. I don't have to explain to them how much I love my parrot or how important his well-being is to me; they understand that already and apply that level of care to all of their patients. I just hope the entire team knows how significant their efforts are for people like me. Thank you.

I have been taking my cats, birds and dogs to Ocean County vet for 19 years. They have always taken very good care of my animals and dr. Briggs and dr. Donowitz are the best. The reception is so helpful and friendly. They make you feel at home

I have been bringing my fur kids to OCVH for 7 years now and they have been nothing but the absolute best in every way possible. Whether it was treating my dogs and cats for present issues or the unfortunate time of making the decision to let them go be at peace, they showed me nothing but compassion and understanding. Treated me like a person, and most of all treated my babies to the best care I could ever imagine. They listen to you and not dictate to you what you should do. You have a say in your pet's care and treatment and this is why I will continue to use them for years to come.

I transferred my dog's records from two previous veterinarians. Without having accurate records from one of them, my dog was vaccinated with shots not due until two years from now and did not get the shots he was due. Then I was told it was my fault. Luckily my dog is okay, but I won't return.

I have 5 pets and they are all well cared for by OCVH. Every Veterinarian that has taken care of my pets is always well informed and keeps in touch with me as to the care of my pet(s) and any illness they may have. If I need to call, they will call back. I have had a couple of instances of ill pets that have been taken care of very well.
I do like that they have multiple offices, and the availability of multiple vets if particular vets are not available that day for my pets to see. They do make every attempt to make sure you get the vet you want to see. Their hours are great and 7 days a week.
Most important, they take me right in when I have an emergency!!

I have always had a great experience with the doctors, especially Dr. Danowitz.

Last night my dog had an emergency and Dr. Weiner went out of his way to make sure we found the best overnight facility. He made phone calls and spoke to the doctors and reassured us that my dog would be taken care of. All is well today, thank you, Dr. Weiner!!!

Thank you for saving my dog, Lainey. In the summer she didn't want to walk much at all. Then she started passing out, fainting, when she pulled on the leash on her harness. Dr Weiner helped us by helping me find ways to help her. He helped me see that I could take action. That didn't break my bank account. He got me to a dog cardiologist at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. She has chronic mitral valve disease and now is on medication to help her heart function more efficiently. Knowing what her illness is has been an important part of helping me care for her. It helped me focus on what to expect from her and what I could do. Now, I walk her wherever she wants to go or not go, and for as long or short as she wants to walk. If she is doingher business i hold onto her harness so she has no traction to pull away, and doesn't faint. If she starts to pull and/or run I run with her (a short ways). In the cooler weather she wants to walk farther sometimes. Next summer we will see-it will be her own assessment of what she can do or not do. She is such a happy girl these days!!!! And she hasn't fainted in over 4 months! Thank you so very much to Dr Weiner. and thank you to the other vets at OCVH that I have had contact with - all superb, smart, knowledgeable, caring!! I highly and heartily recommend OCVH!

Very nice competent staff. Do think prices a bit high compared to my dog’s Delaware vet.

We have small parrots, conures, and have been using OCVH for over 14 years now. The doctors are knowledgeable and really care about the health of their patients. The staff is pleasant and very cordial and they really like animals.

The people and the facility are top notch. We leave our Amazon parrot for extended period of time and the care they give our pet is the best. They interact with him and send us pictures to keep us posted. I have no reservations in recommending them for any pet requirements that might be needed.

When I moved I was so worried I would never find a Veterinary clinic I was as comfortable and confident with in my old home. My fears were put to rest when I first went to Ocean County Veterinary Clinic. I have brought my boys to see most of the vets there at this time and I have never been disappointed. I recommend OCV for all your animals needs :)

Used this vet many times. The Doctor and staff are great.

They are great. Saved the lives of a few of my pets. Started going to them back in 1984.

I have been going to OCVH for many years for all my dogs present and past. I can only think of one incident that occurred many years ago when the Vet I used for all my dogs was not in. My beagle was in extreme distress caused by a blocked bladder and was crying in pain. The vet that handled the case took all her time diagnosing him and since the dog was quite old and had many other problems and was not able to walk, I chose to have him euthanized but she suggested surgery to resolve the blockage. I still remember that day and the extreme coldness on the part of the vet and swore to never have her treat any other dog of mine. Out side of that I have always been very pleased with the way my pets have been treated. The one thing that bothered me was that I recently realized that the vet was still part of the staff.

Dr. Danowitz is a down-to-earth, intelligent, caring Veteranarian who is not fast to sell you a product or push meds into your pet. He thinks holistically, as well as, medicinally. My family and i have never felt so comfortable and confident in our Veteranarian, as we do with Dr. Danowitz.

Always able to get us an aplointment. All the vets and techs there are very good with both out girls. Even when I requested a document to be faxed recently they were on top of it and sent it immediately.

We absolutely love OCVH. We have been going there for years and have always been happy with our experience. Dr. Briggs is the best! He has so much knowledge and is always willing to educate us on the health of our dog. We are truly grateful for Dr. Briggs and OCVH.
