I highly recommend OFX for safe, speedy money transfers. So far, I've had 7 years of excellent service from them. In particular, I experience ongoing exceptional customer service from Bernadene Leuw. I wasted money on 1 expensive bank transfer in 2019, then, thankfully I found OFX and I haven't looked back. Their professional and personable approach makes transferring money easy and stress free.

My relatives transferred money to me from Australia to the US. The exchange rate is not good. After the money was transferred to OFX, it was held up, and they requested the documents and took a long time to process the transaction, citing the need to verify the source of the funds.
Why didn't they request this verification clearly and transparently beforehand? Instead, they held the money after I had already transferred it to OFX. When I asked for a refund, they demanded a penalty. I am very disappointed.

We have been using OFX for over 10 years for international money transfers and highly recommend! Customer Service is friendly and eager to help with every step of the process which is simple and secure. I was pretty anxious the first time as quite large amounts but rest assured everything goes through smoothly!! Our most recent transaction from the US to Australia was completed within hours of placing the deal, wow!!!

I recently completed a new transfer and as always It was extremely smooth and speedy experience.
One minor criticism is that after looking on the site and seeing the current exchange rate I left it for a few days until I was ready and during this time, I received a call from OFX advising me to ring them before I did proceed to see what their best rate was at the time.
I called as I was advised to only be told that the only rate applicable was the one quoted on the website, so it turned out to be a pointless exercise.
I just completed my transfer online as normal and as I mentioned it was fast and efficient as I have come to expect.

Previously I’ve used OFX for bank to bank fund transfers between countries. This was my first time using OFX as a go-between to transfer funds to a specific account in Australia. Online explanations and instructions were clear, along with helpful notifications showing progress up until the funds were successfully received.

Dont Do It
I feel like the test monkey for this product. It is absolutely disgraceful that this "International" company has released what is obviously a subpar financial BETA product to its customers. I stupidly transferred money into the platform and now cannot get it out. Emails were sent to the customers that they are 24/7 but dont be fooled. If you are business customer then you must wait - wait til 9-5 Monday to Friday. Priority service is only for personal customers only apparently. These guys are pretending to be a bank by offering a swag of innovative business banking products which sound great. What you will get is a low tech solution, with bugs that their own staff cant work through, lose temporary access to your funds and lousy frustrating customer service. If you try and get it sorted outside of business hours then you have no hope at all. I seriously don't think that they have worked out that the international financial sector and international business isnt Sydney hours Monday to Friday. Extremely disappointing and an absolute time suck.
UPDATE 1: After working through the tech issues they still declined the transfer out of their account so now my funds are effectively being held hostage! Terrible!!!
UPDATE 2: After 10 telephone calls (yes 10) we managed to do the transfer. There was NOTHING required on my side to make the transaction go through it was 100% their own system issues and or their staff not knowing how to work through their own system or not putting the right staff on the phones (rostering).
Do not do it!
