I cannot speak highly enough viz my dealings with OFX. Between Sean O’Connell ( Sydney) and Amy Slyes (UK/ ROI), I have experienced fast communication and reliability. Peace of mind is everything . My last major transaction went through without a hitch and I expect my next set of transfers to do the same.

I use OFX very regularly to transfer money that funds my retirement in Europe. I can't fault the service. It's quick and very reliable which is what I require.

The worst possible experience

We wanted to make two separate transactions, from two different accounts (one an AUD account, the other an NZD account - both with the same bank) to purchase a vehicle in the UK.
The first transaction went well. However , the second , minor transaction (approx NZD 5000), was stalled for 6 days. During this time I contacted OFX 4 times,. They always said the transfer was pending. Then when I phoned again on Day 4, they suddenly needed additional information which we promptly provided as best we could. Notably, OFX never bothered to contact us about the delay nor to ask for further info. In the end, they said couldn't guarantee that the transfer would be made within our fast shrinking payment timeframe.. By that time the money had been sitting in the OFX account for 5 days.
This delay was extraordinarily inconvenient and put us in a contractually awkward position with our UK counterpart.
And just to clarify: this is not a gripe about compliance, this is entirely about a complete lack of customer communication.

We've asked for our funds to be returned. Needless to say, we will never again deal with OFX and cannot recommend this provider to anyone who requires certainty of timeliness.

The total absence of communication on their part was beyond abysmal and is frankly inexcusable.

When asking refund because monry…

When asking refund because money transfer being canceled its so hard to refund until 1 month still not refund yet! Dont recommend using ofx danger ⚠️ not receving the money back

Thank you Cheng, I have checked your account and can see that the recipient bank were unable to release funds until the recipient went into branch, as this was not possible you requested a recall, recall timeframes are dependant on the bank and can take up to 20 business days. Shocking service, misleading email messages. Incredibly slow in transferring funds.
Do not use them!

Best service I have ever had

I have just experienced the most exemplary service from OFX and in particular from Sonja Tappin, a member of their Customer Service team. Sonja went above and beyond in helping me with a series of recent international transfers. She explained the process thoroughly, was clear in her explanations and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Over all my past dealings with OFX I can truly say that Sonja was the best Customer Service person I have ever dealt with. I hope I am lucky enough to deal with her again in the future.

Reassuring personalised experience

When you’re transferring large sums of money digitally around the world, it’s super helpful and reassuring to have a human take you through the process and checks for you. Lily always has time for a note or a call and she is the reason I continue to use OFX.

Delay

I had a bit of trouble getting the money transfer to OFX confirmed. They couldn't find my reference number even though I had put it in with BPay. Finally successful but it took days and that isn't good when you need to get the money transferred quickly.
I've used them several times now and had no problems in the past.
