Orduña & Asociados abogados is unprofessional, unethical and often creates more problems.
I first contacted Carlos Orduña who is the owner of Orduña & Asociados in May 2024, to assist me with an urgent legal matter. At the start, he was very responsive and seemed very helpful. However, within just a few days it became clear that he was providing me with inconsistent information, and whatever was most suitable for him to tell me in any given moment. Carlos Orduña would consistently blame everyone else for delays or problems, including me - the court - the judge - the prosecutor; everyone except himself.
He requested that all of the fees were paid upfront and that I signed a contract in Spanish, which he translated to me (incorrectly) and then used against me when I started to question the quality of his services. Even going so far as to tell me that his services were 'complete' and that it was my fault the contract didn't include everything that we had verbally agreed.. Even though it was in Spanish, and explained by him to me.
On countless occasions Carlos Orduña has acted in a very unprofessional manner, and often throws tantrums like a child when his professional capability is questioned. Even when I requested copies of all the documents involved in the case, and suggested this was 'normal' for a lawyer to keep an organised archive of - he again, got very upset and told me "I'm not your employee" and refused to provide me with the copies.
When I requested the same again a few weeks later, he told me it would take nearly 3 weeks to prepare the archive, even though he would surely have all this information already prepared and collated - as that's literally the core responsibility of even a junior lawyer.
Most recently, in another tantrum, Carlos has told me that the only method of communication he will permit is via writing to his office, via his assistant - or that I can make a phone call to them between limited hours, and that from this we can schedule other meetings. This goes against the spirit and text of the contract between us, it is also unethical and clearly obstructive.
Upon realising this cannot be a one-off situation, I researched more about this person and found that he has previously had another law firm (which he's now renamed to "JK Abogados"). This law firm has 1.8 stars on Google Maps - you can search for "JK Abogados in Mexico City" using Google Maps to find the profile. In the reviews there are countless similar experiences, with incredibly unprofessional behaviour. Some people's reviews even suggest Carlos Orduña has been committing fraud, which is obviously very serious.
I will never work with this lawyer, or his law firm(s) ever again. I would also recommend any other person to carefully review the information available on the internet before proceeding with them.
