Oshawa Kijiji Avis 73

Ever since an agent "Hassan O" came on board, users started being monitored and treated like dirt. Hassan O only seems to care about pulling as many users to the platform as possible, regardless of what they are selling or buying. He completely killed the platform. Moreover - your chats are being read, your information is being collected, and the agents are being forced to provide a convoluted narrative to cover up for it all. Once a healthy platform is now a disaster. Greed for profit killed Kijiji.

I contacted Kijiji Canada for some tech related help. I did all what they were asking & the issue never being even looked at since Dec 25/25 because "... since this isn’t considered a major bug on the website, it likely won’t be treated as a high-priority fix."

I am thinking, when Kijiji Canada would not have something more major & more priority to deal with at ANY given time?

Why "minor issue" will get dragged on for nearly 2 months now if not being ignored totally?

I do not understand this silly logic I was given by Kijiji Canada contrary to the very basic first come, first serve basis...

Normally you should be able to click the small arrow at the top of the column to sort your inactive ads in the correct order. If that is not working, I would like to see what you are seeing on your screen.

You can find all kinds of illegal stuff on Kijiji. From drugs to medications to stolen items and pirated items and fakes. However, once you report the users and experiences, Kijiji staff will lash out on you and tell you to keep clicking "report" if you want those ads gone, and if you try and reason with them they will tell you to get lost.

Issue Summary – Kijiji Paid Advertisement Dispute

Paid $33.29 CAD (American Express) for a promoted ad under the Classic Cars category on Kijiji (Adevinta).

Was severly overcharged for the ad which Kijiji refused to address - but just dismissed me with rude responses.

The ad did not appear in the category it was paid for and was hidden behind an undisclosed “Wanted” filter, making it effectively invisible to normal users.

Could not bee seen in Classic Cars category ???

Despite paid promotion, the ad received negligible views (approx. 13 views over 24+ hours) in a highly popular catergory - Classic Cars

Filtering limitations and visibility restrictions were not disclosed prior to payment.

Customer ONLINE support was contacted six times over 24+ hours and failed to correct placement, visibility, or provide a refund.

Support responses were dismissive and placed responsibility on the customer despite documented evidence.

Billing records referenced an ad that did not match the screenshots provided, indicating a billing-to-ad mismatch AND WAS SEVERLEY OVERCHARGED FOR ???.

Due to non-delivery of the paid service, the ad was deleted and a formal American Express chargeback was initiated.

Full email chain, screenshots, and billing confirmations were submitted as evidence.

Dispute reason: services not rendered and misrepresentation of paid advertising.

Since Adivinta took over Ebay and Kijiji the site has gone downhill rates rise almost weekly - ads are now all paid for with 1 limit of free ads - page views are now almost none existant = it is a sinking ship with clowns at whelm . Do not and I mean do not waste your time there and support a European corporate greed corporation who does not care just wants to suck every dollar out of you!!

Kijiji does this intentionly to force you into paying for a top page ad @ $435.00 plus taxes for 1 month to get any exposure - they truly are scammers who do not care - JUST WANT MONEY.

SUPPORT IS NONE EXITANT - NO WAY TO PHONE CONTACT THEM - THE EMAIL SUPPORT NEVER REPLIES AND IF THEY DO IT IS A GENERIC WE WILL GET BACK TO YOU - LAUGHABLE

I cannot tell you how pleased I am that Kijiji offers “human” Customer Service without even having to go through a machine to get it. I had a problem posting one of my Kijiji ads and emailed to get help. Kijiji responded quickly and I got professional help that I could understand from Hassan. I highly recommend Kijiji as the best choice for buying and / or selling your wants and needs.

Not so long ago when you called a business your call would be answered by a “human”. That “human” would transfer your call to another “human” that would expeditiously fix your problem. That was called Customer Service. Regrettably Customer Service has now been replaced by DIY Customer Disservice. If you cannot maneuver the DIY Customer Disservice on your own you have to speak to a “human”.

Sometimes there is no “human” Customer Service of any kind available. You have to either deal with a machine or ask the “Community”. The “humans” have all been fired or never hired. When a business asks for your patronage does it not have an obligation to provide you with some acceptable level of Customer Service?

The top executives now make unjustified obscene amounts of money while the people that actually create the wealth struggle to get by. “Humans” are replaced by machines. You have to wait forever to speak to a “human”. Those “humans” are usually underpaid working in poor conditions.

Those “humans” often live in South America or Asia with English not being their first language. They are often poorly trained so that you may have to repeatedly wait forever trying to get help more than once. Those “humans” may have thick accents so that they are very difficult to understand. The phone connections may be very poor adding to the comprehension difficulty.

Customers are now treated like annoying garbage. Their time and inconvenience mean nothing. They have to wait forever to speak to an unqualified “human”. Customers are in part responsible for this treatment because they put up with it thinking that it is unavoidable.

There is the expression: “The good old days” when people were civil with respect and manners and your business was appreciated. We are of the generation that fondly remembers those times and long to see them return. Regrettably we are resigned that they never will. With the advent of AI the situation will get worse a lot worse.

When you buy something and get ripped off by a dishonest seller, there is no way to leave a review about that seller unless the seller himself asks you to do a review. Obviously dishonest sellers never do and Kijiji is no help in allowing reviews that would help guide their buying clientele properly. I would suggest they change their biased review policy and allow reviews by users who has a chat history on removed ads.

Kijiji disabled account without any warning inspite of being in contact with their team and their team telling that we wont face issues and to use their website after some hours and after some hours we get email saying all ads are removed and account is disabled, we never got any warning no idea what are they doing, also their agent now closes the chat as we try to talk with them to know more info, they just tell policy is violated and end the chat, really weird company and support, we thought earlier support was friendly but not sure what happened, we barely used their website 2 days and not sure what type of policies were violated

Kijiji has a terrible operation. Every time I try to post a job ad so I can hire an employee they remove my ad or make it inactive.

When I contact support they give me a generic response or say that I need to create a new account but then the same thing happens again.

I'm not even saying anything that comes close to something that could be interpreted as spam. This is insane. It must be nice to have a business that makes so much money you can actively block people from using your website and still make millions of dollars.

Their automatic review process doesn't work. They should either manually review ads or they should make an automatic system that doesn't reject legitimate ads. It's very frustrating. I need to hire an employee and I can't post an ad.

Note: This review is for the main Kijiji website but Trustpilot is forcing me to review the Oshawa part of the site for some reason.

I was posting on Kijiji and paying extra for top placement for some business ads I made. I guess this alerted their inside sales to call me to offer a Kijiji business account. A salesman called me and told me how I could save money by paying a monthly fee, giving me x amount of top add placements. He was good at overcoming any objections and I signed up.

After using the services for a few months I cancelled as I was not seeing the ROI as I thought I would. After cancelling, I continued to see bills coming my way. I called billing and they said this was an error. So I didn't think anything of it. Then the second month of bills since cancellation came in. It took multiple points of contact to get in touch with my sales rep. Finally he emailed back saying he said he would call. Which if you look at the attached image, those promises were empty. Finally after speaking to him, he said I agreed to paying for 60 days post cancellation. I asked him why he didn't tell me about this in the sales pitch. He said he did. Which he CERTAINLY did not.

Over $1000 down the pipe with no ROI or help with these guys.

Be cautious when signing up for their business accounts. There are financial traps that keep you tied financially and your account rep give 0 care to help you out which rendering your service or after. They just care about making the sale and locking you in.

See typical conversations with the sales rep. Broken promises that they will call you back with never ending excuses. Very poor client care.

So i posted a ad about playstation 5 and xbox series x letting people know to just wait and not buy from these people, my one friend got his ps5 yesterday and another friend got a xbox few days ago so just wait. Well my ad got removed by kijiji.

So people can post a ad on kijiji for xbox or ps5 for$1,000 - $1,5000 and ripping people off that is allowed, but letting people know about stock and not to buy from these people and that gets removed. Very disappointing in kijiji

Also the review rating on kijiji is complete BS, i had users give me one star because i said no to the offer, and the offer was $1,200 for my $3,000 gaming laptop that i had listed for $2,300 so year just wanted to put that out there, if you buy one kijiji just ignore the reviews because 99% of them are from people that didn't get their way so they gave that person a 1 star.

The new review system is flawed

I received a one star review from a seller that tried to sell me counterfeit Louis Vuitton wallet; claiming it was authentic until I paid for professional authenticator and found out is fake. Seller gave me one star for not going through.
Mind you all this was done on the phone without meetup.
Of course Kijiji refused to do anything and the seller continued selling his counterfeit items for the price of real. The End!

I am not sure about Kijiji anymore. You get punters who want to pay $5 for something you are selling for a good price and when you say no I have decided to keep the product as I think your offer unreasonable they write a poor review. That is essentially a review against my character. Who needs that. I will choose not to use Kijiji anymore. They want goods for nothing to re sell them. Best to just donate them to charity.

Been using Kijiji for probably 10+ years. Always handled selling items truthfully and very fairly. I had one person give me a 1-star review and now this is where my account will stay for the foreseeable future. It really is a poor system and people will abuse it to hurt others when something doesn't go 100 percent their way. Kijiji the review system needs an overhaul or ability to dispute a poor review. Thank you.

Seller shows up 1 hour late. Item not as described so I backed out. Two weeks later he gives me 1 star for unfair negotiation and I have no recourse. Terrible terrible review system. I am done with this service.

This website does it's job.
YET, items that are being sold in one place linked with another city 200km away for some reason. Random business ads are everywhere too.
I like the fact that I can advertise my apartment for free, but I don't like the fact that people call me to know where it is when it's properly listed just because kijiji randomly associate it with other cities.

Attention to the developers who work on the kijiji development. The system is 100% corrupt. You can’t tell me it’s working otherwise at this point. I had someone I talked to over a month ago that I’ve never met review me at 3.0/5. Our discussion was over a month ago. Now I can’t give them a review back? What kinda system is this? You have to know by now this is 100% garbage material. Fix it, don’t complain if you go out of business because your users won’t be putting up with this ridiculousness for much longer I’m sure. It’s bad enough there are a lot of no shows and unrealistic peeps we have to deal with. Fix this weird system will ya?

Their review system is a joke. People leave reviews when they didn’t even meet up to do business with you. I’ve been using Kijiji for 7 years and now because one person was upset I didn’t take their low ball offer, my account is rated 1-star. Thanks Kijiji

Flawed review system that they will not address.

Kijiji actually promotes SCAMMERS. Right now it’s all these people looking for puppies, scammers ask for a deposit to be etransfered to them. They will not accept PayPal or in person deposit. I actually contacted one, she mentioned they live on a street near to me. When I said I could walk over & pay the deposit they stopped replying & then said , sorry we sold them all.
I tried to post a warning but was never accepted, delayed or pending. By that time some people were scammed. They’re asking for $500 deposit.
Kijiji SHOULD BE REMOVED!!!

Met a girl in Davisville.to buy a bag. literally blackmailed into paying but refusing to compromise to meet up at a subway station. Made me go all the way to her condo complex. These type of sellers need to be banned, you don't make the person pay before meeting up. I understand convid-19 but subway station is more reasonable over condo complex. This girl literally forces you to make time to go meet here while she doesn't bother to leave. She needs to be banned from kjiji and shes using fake reviews to sell when she isn't all that pleasant a seller. Never buy from her.
