I love being part of this group
I love being part of this group - meeting and learning from top trainers. Being able to visit Equiprep - which has to be the top horse holiday spot, is a unique privilege. Knowing that my tiny contribution is guaranteeing my horse will be looked after for life is priceless.
Owners Group is a fun way to get involved with racehorses.
Owners Group is an excellent way to get involved with racehorse ownership for a very modest outlay. The share price is all you will pay, no hidden extras, and no commitment to continue at the end of the Syndicate period. Regular updates on your horse/s via videos and a magazine. A chance to visit racing yards and race meetings as an Owner via ballot. Great fun following your horse/s and meeting other Owners. Don’t expect to make a fortune, just do it for the fun and excitement. So glad I got involved, never imagined I would be able to!
Owners Group are a great racing syndicate.
Owners Group are a great racing syndicate. It gives people the chance to have a share in racehorses at a low cost. They really care for the horses, and the trainers are the best in the country. The horses have the chance to enjoy a good holiday at Equiprep once the season is over, and spend their time grazing and playing with their friends in the paddocks. They also are great at retraining and rehoming the horses who retire from racing, which is so lovely. I highly recommend this syndicate to anyone wanting to experience racehorse ownership.
Getting involved with Owners Group is a dream come true..…
Getting involved with Owners Group is special to me, as an ordinary guy with only a limited amount to spend. The chance to own a share or shares in a race horse and watch it run is a real thrill. following them through the highs and the lows, being patient when they suffer injury and setbacks. one of my horses springs to mind. Pentland Hills. I love it!
Love Owners Group
Love Owners Group. Professionally run. Loads of information, videos, photos, magazine etc. Have made a lot of my dreams come true.
If you’re a fan of racing, you’ll love this.
I have followed racing for sixty years but only recently decided to join a syndicate. What made it possible and appealing was the fact that I could get a share for such a small amount (relative to the overall cost of ownership). It has taken my understanding, appreciation and enjoyment to a new level. Owners’ Group is well run and very transparent about costs. The communication is excellent, with frequent emails, videos and a monthly magazine. Your online account has detailed information about your “stable”, including past videos and reports. Only half way through my first year I have been on one stable visit and am booked in for another.
Just like betting, you should only lay out what you can afford to lose - cheerfully. You are buying into an experience. And whether your horse ever wins or not, you are there to enjoy the experience of following its fortunes. If you can afford it, it is a good idea to buy one share in each of several horses to give yourself more chance of experiencing highs as well as lows. It is true that occasionally a horse can have problems with injury that keep it out for a long time. It’s hard luck, but that’s racing. I have a few already. Only some of them have run for me so far this year, but they’ve given me a number of runs and several wins. And I still have the others to come. Great fun!
Great time with all my Owners Group Horses.
I have only been with Owners Group for just over 21 months. I have had a great time with all my Owners Group horses. My family wife, step daughter, sister and brother in law have bought me horses for my birthdays and Christmas. I have added to their purchases.
Owners Group keep you up dated with e-mail reports, where and when your horses will run with an opportunity to enter a ballot for an owners badge to go to the race course to see your horse run.
So like I said I've had a great time with my Owners Group horses.
I love Owners Group
Being a shareholder with the Owners Group is an extremely enjoyable experience.
There are regular email updates and videos, a fantastic monthly magazine, plus a very good website and app. You also have the opportunity to apply for stable visits and an owners badge if your horse runs (always providing you are successful in the ballot).
But, by far the best thing about Owners Group, to my mind, is the medical care they give their horses and, especially, should a horse not work out as a racehorse, or need to be retired they keep them (retraining some in the meantime) until they can find the perfect new home for them.
An informative and entertaining experience with highs and lows
I have had shares in about a third of the OG horses since it started. I have NH and Flat horses, and breeding stock, as I enjoy the full bloodstock spectrum. I enjoy the monthly magazine and the more regular on-line/electronic feedback, including the videos. As I live in Yorkshire, many of the horses are too far away for stable visits, but I enjoy the ones I attend locally (overnight stays etc are not really feasible for me). Although I have followed racing for over 50 years, I have learned a great deal about racing from OG - especially about the need for time and patience, and that many horses (however well bred!) are just not cut out for a career as a racehorse. I am impressed by OG's support for and care of all of their horses, including those that (for whatever reason) just don't make the grade. I think Equi-Prep is the "Jewel in the OG Crown", and makes OG special. I find the views and expectations of some people (e.g. in the magazine or on various unofficial FB sites) exasperating - surely they can't really expect "their" horse to win every time it runs, even if it is trained by Paul Nicholls! OG's responses and management of expectations are excellent! Feedback from trainers can be a bit inconsistent at times, but I think this is probably inevitable. Sometimes one just has to laugh at people's complaints about trainers, jockeys and how their horse performed (or indeed didn't perform)! As a long-time member of the Elite Racing Club, I am concerned that OG members seems to receive more attention and better support (e.g. faster and more detailed communication), and some people (clients, not staff) in OG do not seem to appreciate that without ERC (via Marsha) there would be no Equi-Prep (and without Equi-Prep, OG would not be able to function nearly as efficiently and effectively as it does). Overall, I thoroughly enjoy my OG experience, which is informative and entertaining. It is also excellent value for money. Thank you.
I think OG do an excellent job!
I think OG do an excellent job!
Great contact and feedback all the time.
Actually more than I would have expected for the money!
Looking forward to my upcoming visit to Equiprep.
Thank you, PG
A thoroughly professional organisation…
A thoroughly professional organisation who look after the Owner's interests by keeping them up to date with weekly reports, race entries and videos. The quality of the latter is excellent and the monthly magazine content
and production gets better and better.
owners group horse ownership
owners group are a professional ownership group which brings lots of racing, fun and horse welfare to the forefront of everything they do.
they ensure all who invest are updated regularly, with videos, weekly reports, racing reports stable visits etc. they explain all the various horse issues so you can understand how your horse is progressing or why something may be causing a problem. my husband brought me my first share as a present as I love horses and I was so impressed by the reports that I know have a few different horse shares due to the reasonable price.
excellent animal welfare, excellent for Updating, very affordable and no expectation to keep shares long term if
Excellent way to be involved with horseracing
Excellent way to be involved with horseracing. Great range of horses and trainers to choose from, opportunities to visit and regular updates including videos. Very professional organisation.
A syndicate that puts horse welfare first.
A horse racing syndicate that puts horse welfare first. They keep me up-to-date with weekly horse reports and occasional videos. All the fun of racehorse ownership for a very small outlay with stable visits and the chance to apply for an owner's badge to see my horses running. The quality of the horses is superb with so many winners and those who don't make the grade are carefully retrained for a life outside of racing. The horses are also given downtime, away from the bustle of the racing yard, and turned out in the fields of their facility in Wiltshire where they are given the best of care.
Saw an advert for Owners Group in a…
Saw an advert for Owners Group in a newspaper offering shares in Stage Star, my husband likes watching racing on tv & had a birthday coming up so brought him a share in STAGE STAR. The information & share certificate was addressed to him & arrived a few days before his birthday (we were going to be away on his birthday & I open all mail) I put it in case for holiday & let him read if on his birthday. He has been happy with his share & since then both he & I have brought shares in several other horses, he currently has about 25 & I have about 20. It's a share in a horse for as little as £1 a week, you get a chance to go on stable visits (we were successful once recently but he did not feel well so had to cancel) you also get the chance to apply for a free badge as an owner when your horse runs. We have applied at our local track only but so far not been successful in getting a badge. We enjoy the fun of it & you also get a share of the prize money, so if a horse has 4000 owners & wins a £40000 race that's about £10 winnings each share holder. Would recommend to anyone who likes horse racing & have gave information to a neighbour & brother in law too. One of my neighbours is elderly but always does a bet daily, he has a list of some of our horses & always backs them if he sees them running.
Would recommend to people who love race horses
If you love horses and understand how they perform then this is well worth it. For less than £60 You can be the proud owner of a Cheltenham festival winner. Yes horses get injured and need time out of training but they still need feed and vets and time to recover. If you don’t under stand this part of horse racing then don’t join and start moaning Horses aren’t machines They can’t win every race they can’t race 40 times a year and they can’t stay in full training year after year. I’ve had winners and ones that haven’t raced due to injury. All the t&cs are easy to understand. These are living animals not machines. The joy of seeing a horse run that you have a tiny bit of is so exciting. I have 2 people I renew shares for every year for their birthdays. They have also enjoyed following them Would like a bit more info ever so often on the horses and more notice of owners visits etc as we have to book a couple of days off as the trainers yard is almost 7 hrs away so need to book hotels as well. More horses in Scotland would be good to. Highly recommend owners group & elite racing club to anyone who loves horses and racing.
Affordable Racehorse Ownership
I've had horses with ownersgroup since they started. It's an affordable way to get into racehorse ownership. What I like is that it's no extra cost if the horse gets injured and they work hard to get new homes for the horses when they are retired. I would advise people to not get multiple shares in one horse but get one share in a number of horses to spread the risk. It is a gamble with horses because they don't always make it to the track, but with a little luck you can end up with a Group one winner like Stage Star or Pentland Hills. They also sometimes have breeding syndicates available and it's interesting to see how the foals will get on. Ownersgroup are very transparent about the costs and you do actually own a small bit of the horse which is not the case with some syndicates.
My Horse Shares
Never had any problems from when I purchased my first share three years ago and now have shares in seven horses, get regular email updates and a printed monthly magazine not to mention the enjoyment when one runs and even better when they win.
Dare to Dream..
I first heard of Owners Group in my weekly equestrian magazine Horse and Hound offering shares in a lovely iron grey gelding.
What a wonderful journey I have had following his racing career and that prompted me to buy a share or two in other horses that were purchased by Owners Group. Their care and futures of these equines is second to none. The one abiding theme is the wonderful care and welfare is all encompassing up to when they finish racing, either through injury, rehabilitation, and retirement. All are found exemplary homes. I will continue to support Owners Group. Incidentally, I still have my shares in that wonderful iron grey who is now white but technically is a grey.. 5*
Owners group is brilliant and inclusive…
Owners group is brilliant and inclusive way of racing fans getting into ownership at a level that is affordable to many.
The only way I feel to improve the experience would be to make the breeding syndicates more inclusive eg votes on choice of stallion.
