Oxbridge Summer Scholars Avis 

My daughter had great time at OSS. She came back with bunch of great memories and new found motivation to get into Oxbridge.

Oxbridge Summer Scholars is an intensive, fun, and meaningful experience for those wishing to get a taste of life at Oxford or Cambridge University. The tutors are amazing, the social scene from the students is multinational and super diverse, and the accommodation, facilities, and activities planning is also not bad. However, especially for Stream A (engineering and sciences), I would highly recommend going when you're at least 16, preferably 17 or 18, because the content covered is quite high-level. The other streams seem appropriate for any age range, as the topics covered have a lower prior amount of knowledge required. I would highly recommend this programme to anyone who loves intense academic rigorousness, balanced with ample social and extra-cirricular time. My one drawback is that you're not going to have too much time to do sports or activities you would normally do outside of the programme. Having said all that, these 2 weeks were truly some of the best weeks of my life, so I would highly recommend this programme to anyone considering it.

I attened a summer programme at Hughes Hall, Cambridge and honestly it could have been the best two weeks of my life.

I did stream B (medicine) and the experience was so incredibly valuable. The tutors are incredible, providing a wide range of expertise from multiple different backgrounds. For me it provided a insight into what field I would like to go into and helped me realise there are more options than pure science and pure medicine. So if thats why you want to go it will help you.

Beyond the academics, trips and nightly activities were always fun and facilitated by amazing, kind supervisors. In fact supervisors like Katie, Joseph and Alina are what made the experience so comfortable and fun. Some of the extracurriculars were kareoke, quiz night, and even a trip to Oxford.

However, my favourite part are the friends I made there. I met the best people and now have friends for life. I met four girls from around the world who I will love forever and will be seeing again next year. If you're worried you won't make friends, don't be.

Ultimately, if your considering going - just do it. I promise you wont regret it.

A Valuable Cambridge Summer Experience

As a parent, I believe this summer programme gave my daughter a valuable opportunity to experience a different education system and academic culture.
One of her biggest takeaways was discovering that different education systems vary not only in teaching methods, but also in course content and assessment standards. It broadened her perspective and encouraged her to think about learning in new ways.
Overall, the teaching quality was good. The lecturers were knowledgeable and encouraged students to participate in discussions. One class even led to a lively debate between my daughter and a lecturer because they held different viewpoints. Although they did not completely agree with each other, I appreciated that students were encouraged to think critically, express their opinions respectfully, and engage in open academic discussion. To me, this is an important part of higher education.
The academic atmosphere in Cambridge was truly inspiring. Studying in such a historic university city allowed students to experience an environment that cannot be replicated in a traditional classroom.
The programme also provided a safe and well-managed learning and accommodation environment, which gave us confidence as parents. Knowing that our child was well cared for allowed us to focus on supporting her learning experience from afar.
Another highlight was the opportunity to interact with students from different countries. Through these friendships and conversations, my daughter gained a better understanding of different cultures and perspectives, making the experience valuable both academically and personally.
There are, however, a few areas that could be improved. The catering could offer a greater variety of food to better accommodate students from different cultural backgrounds and dietary preferences.
I would also suggest arranging visits inside some of Cambridge’s historic colleges, such as King’s College and Trinity College, particularly for the older students. During our programme, students also visited Oxford, but the visit was limited to viewing the university from the outside. Having the opportunity to enter one or two colleges in either Cambridge or Oxford would make the academic and cultural experience even more memorable.
Overall, this was a meaningful and rewarding experience for my daughter. She returned home with a broader perspective, greater confidence, and a deeper appreciation of academic life in one of the world’s most renowned university cities.
My advice to future parents is to encourage your children to participate actively, ask questions, and keep an open mind. The greatest value of this programme lies not only in the lessons, but also in the different ideas, cultures, and perspectives they experience along the way.

Oxbridge Summer completely changed my life! Those incredible two weeks of classes and social gatherings made me sure of what I wanted to pursue in the future and I realized that was the academic life I needed. Not only that, but I also had the chance to meet wonderful people from all over the world. Totally recommend!

Hannah had an exceptional experience at the Oxford Summer School and returned home inspired, motivated and with a renewed sense of purpose. The programme struck an excellent balance between academic challenge, cultural exploration and an authentic taste of university life.

The opportunity to experience the history, culture and atmosphere of the cities alongside engaging academic sessions made the programme both enriching and memorable. Just as importantly, there was plenty of time for students to build friendships, develop independence and enjoy the social aspects of the experience.

The staff were outstanding throughout. They provided exceptional pastoral care while maintaining high academic expectations, ensuring every student felt supported, encouraged and confident to make the most of every opportunity. Hannah felt safe, valued and challenged in equal measure.

The experience has had a lasting impact. Hannah has returned with greater confidence, a clearer focus on her future aspirations and a genuine excitement for learning. We couldn't have asked for a better introduction to university life and would highly recommend the Oxford Summer School to any student considering it.

My experience was amazing, I did the medical sciences stream and have gained a lot of insight about my subject. Furthermore, it was very fun and I made a lot of new friends. The student supervisors were very nice and I loved talking with them.

My son participated in the summer school program with focus on Engineering. He came back full of motivation to study at Oxbridge that he continues to study despite having summer holidays. I appreciate the effort to make that experience possible. Only sorry that he did not participate one year earlier.

I believe the program is well rounded both in academics and social aspects. It is a privilege to have lessons with college professors or experts in the area you chose to learn. Additionally, you get the opportunity of meeting friends from different places and making friendships that will last.

As a Law and PPE senior student at Oxbridge, the program was wonderful and a fantastic way to hear from experts on the most pressing challenges of politics, law, and philosophy for today. The supervisors and staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, the social activities in the evenings highly enjoyable, and the people I have met I will remain in touch with for a long time. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here at Oxbridge.

OSS has allowed me to gain insight into pathways that I couldn't get anywhere else, with dedicated lecturers from each degree they teach/study. Additionally, OSS brings in global perspectives - meeting others akin to you although from different backgrounds and culture - and allows you to grow as a person.

I attended the OSS programme for Law and International Relations. The lessons were well-developed, in-depth and up-to-date incisions into political realities of today, and the tutors were all very welcoming of different perspectives. It was the perfect balance of engaging and rigorous thinking. I also enjoyed meeting and talking to people of different nationalities and seeing how their experiences contributed to their perspectives. The supervisors were very kind and caring as well— thank you Ayami, Alina, Wendy, Elishammah for all your support! Would recommend for anyone looking to experience learning in a diverse and welcoming environment.

My experience at OSS was truly unforgettable. I was part of Stream A (STEM), where I had the opportunity to explore fascinating topics in Artificial Intelligence, Physics and Mathematics. Every lecture challenged me to think critically and inspired me to learn even more. The teachers and mentors were incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely passionate about their subjects and always willing to answer questions. They were also exceptionally kind, supportive, and engaged in helping every student succeed. Beyond the academics, I met amazing people from different countries, making this an enriching experience that I will always remember and highly recommend!!

I attended the Oxford Engineering & Physics programme this past December, and it genuinely exceeded what I'd hoped for going in.

Living inside an Oxford college, eating in the dining hall, walking to tutorials through the same courtyards generations of students have used made the experience feel real, not staged. The tutorials themselves were the academic highlight: sessions were small, the graduate tutors clearly cared, and the discussion-led format pushed me to actually think rather than just absorb material.

Outside of class, the excursions to Oxford's museums were something I keep thinking about months later. The History of Science Museum was the standout, getting to see orreries from the 1700s up close was one of the best parts of the whole trip. The craftsmanship on instruments that old is staggering, and as someone interested in astronomy and engineering, it was the kind of thing you simply can't get from a textbook.

The staff were responsive and well-organised throughout, and the whole programme felt thoughtfully put together from start to finish. If you're a high school student wondering whether it's worth it; for me, the answer was clearly yes. Highly recommended.

My son attended OSS during the summer and what strikes me most, as his mother, is that he still brings it up constantly - the friendships, the tutors, the college life. It was clearly more than just a programme to him. It became a memory he will carry forever, and one that shaped the way he sees his future. We are deeply grateful!

I sent my daughter to the December OSS program and she returned more confident, curious, and focused than ever! The academic standard and staff care far exceeded our expectations, I couldn't recommend OSS more highly.

Amazing opportunity with great support from staff in every aspect. A wide variety of experienced tutors provided an amazing university-like learning environment. Well organised activities to interact with peers and an overall safe environment. Could have had more group activities outside of the college.

I attended Oxbridge Summer Scholars in December of 2025, and it was such a once in a lifetime opportunity for me, both educationally and socially.

My stream course of Law, PPE, and Philosophy challenged me in ways my regular high school curriculum has never before. Its contents actually made me rethink my future career choices and how I observe the overall legal system as a whole, whilst also diving into the new territory of Philosophy. The tutors we had were amazing; kind, understanding, patient, but also pushed us.

Social wise, OSS allowed me to interact with students from all over the world, learning all their cultures and languages that I likely wouldn’t have otherwise! I met so many amazing people at this program and still keep in touch with many of them to this day, and calling them some of my best friends.

Overall, if you’re thinking of joining OSS, absolutely do it. My only feedback is that I wish it was longer, time went by way to fast and I miss it more then words can describe.

This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that provided great opportunities to learn from renowned members of their respective fields. would highly recommend.

It was such a great experience that I really enjoy, I will totally recommend it to anyone who wishes to expand their horizons.
