My inguinal hernia op was carried out by Greg and his team two and a half weeks ago.
Everybody was friendly, helpful, kind and very reassuring, i was quite anxious. It all went extremely quickly, smoothly and i was very well looked after. The first few days were the most difficult but after that it became easier each day. After taking off the steri strips my scar is very clean and small with a ridge that im sure will disappear when i start to massage it. No hesitation in recommending them

Having been diagnosed with an inguinal hernia in mid-April 2026 my priority was to have an operation to fix it as soon as possible. After a disappointing experience with a local private hospital I found the Oxford Hernia Centre (OHC) website and made contact in mid-May 2026. From the beginning I felt confident that Greg and Mark would be the right people to work with. Greg was the ultimate professional fully briefing me on the process I would be going through. He took the time to explain why a personal medical issue was not a reason to stop me having hernia surgery which was utterly reassuring. Sympathetic, caring, experienced and determined were attributes that came across immediately with Greg. Paperwork was done quickly and efficiently and I soon had my operation booked waiting only 3 weeks to arrive at the OHC. The staff were outstanding in so many ways not least that they worked as a team, enjoyed their work with a smile and put the patient at ease from start to finish. Suffice to say the team made me feel relaxed and fully informed at all times. Thank you.

Bottom line - would I recommend OHC as the place where professionalism, care and reassurance, teamwork from reception to departure fully on display and a positive outlook at all times in abundance - 100% yes!

I can honestly say I was very nervous prior to my surgery. Dr Sadler and his team are very friendly and professional. The whole process from start to finish was very professionally carried out. Fast, smooth and reassuring experience. For a small umbilical hernia like mine I was told years earlier to live with it. This erodes your confidence and quality of life over time. Yes I was nervous but Greg and the team put me at ease and the whole process was done in 90 mins. Maybe too quick as it felt like a revolving door but that’s a minor gripe. I chose the Oxford Hernia Clinic for my hernia repair because it offered surgery without a general anaesthetic which hospitals closer to home did not. The surgeon, Mr. Sadler, and his anaesthetist, and the whole nursing and theatre staff, were superb, so friendly, sympathetic, efficient and professional. I felt completely safe in their hands. I left home in Shropshire at eight in the morning and was back by three thirty that afternoon. Four days later my recovery is underway and no signs of any complications.

I was very nervous when I first got there as I have never had surgery in my life before. The team instantly set me at ease. The sedation was sweet and the local anaesthetic means you can go home really quickly. I am only two days after surgery and almost pain free already! Truly amazing.
