Have also had terrible trouble logging in over several weeks -- very worrisome as I've many entries, going back a number of years; plenty of useful info, if could access it. I have had both paid and unpaid versions, was pleased with the site's function for a long time, am now thinking that lacking possibility of support or recapturing data means I should go back to pen and paper journaling.

Until today I had nothing but praise for Penzu but I now I am really considering whether I will use it again seeing that I have now lost 50 Percent of a memoir I was writing about my time at Primary school, usually these sorts of errors can be easily remedied by a "restore previous version" which is just about standard on every other word processing site known to man but on Penzu you have to pay for it which is totally outrageous seeing that the fault was not of my doing!. I have never got upset about loosing a piece of work before but as everything was perfect down to the descriptions of the school's assemblies I want to have some compensation for this (namely the option of returning to the draft I wrote yesterday instead of today's one which is missing a whole of page of work from the last two or three days!), seeing that Microsoft word allows you to return to previous documents I will be transferring all of my Penzu entries onto it post haste!. thanks a million for messing up my day, causing massive emotional harm to me and preventing me from finishing what would've been an interesting memoir!.

I had not used the app in some time, I don't remember the password that I had set up or it is no longer linked to my bio settings. I did the 'forgot password' link and it said that it sent me an email. needless to say no email received on my end. Otherwise the product was good and I liked it.

Having problems trying to log in and forgot my password,,, NO ONE TO get ahold of on line to help me clear the situation and I have at least 100 different writings over the past 4 years ,,,, Does this mean everything iv done has been FOR NOTHINGGGGGG ?????? ! Limits for text and no notifications about that, they just delete half of your text and you will find out that when you open entry next time.
Tried to save what I had there for 7 years - only paid version has an export option. I paid, pushed on export, it stuck! I refresh the page, and can’t get it from any device. Later I managed to log in but it’s impossible to export my data. Still waiting for response from support.

Penzu indicates that the notes with the name I need to look for are not found, while I tried to type the file names as accurate as possible. Actually, there are notes with the names I remember and need, but I don't know why Penzu said that those notes are not found.

Hi I signed up to use your diary in mid September
After a day or two. I decided the diary I was not for me and I unsubscribed. After a few days I had a daily email asking me advice on how to use the diary this then ii had email from them showing Ismessage I had sent to my local council re a tree problem. In the form of an email . I DID NOT USE THE DIARY. . they must have hacked my email account. Please Stop.

I've been using for about 8 years I think. The export and locking features are great. I've lost entries a few times, but I think that was network-caused.

I'm a long term user of PENZU and am delighted with it. It does the things i want well. Record notes daily, high level of security., download records for posterity and backup. It has improved over the years, particular how the download of data works. Giving it a 4 as a few small things would make it perfect such as better searching of the mobile version. Can only use one keyword. having said that searching works well on the desktop.

Penzu is great to get things off my chest and write about my day and have notes about things without people knowing.

I enjoyed the free version for a few years, but wanted to separate my writings into different journals, so i got the pro.

It started ok, then it stopped syncing between my devices. I can’t access entries on my phone that were made on my laptop, even additions to existing entries available on my phone aren’t recognized.

I have yet to be able to find a live person to help. The only help page is links telling you how to deal with specific issues.

I’m currently looking for another journal, and will be moving my entries when my subscription is up, unless i can get this solved.

I have used Penzu for over 10 years now and I don't think I'd like it, going without it.

Writing things down absolutely helps me to sort my head out, without that 'hangover feeling' you get when you talk to even close friends. No thank you.

I think 'on-needs bases' journaling is elegant and effective tool of self - management, that stood a test of time. This contemporary update of it, the space economy and the luxury of privacy, I'm really grateful to the developers. I never had problems logging in or any other technicality, runs like clockwork.

Most hackers are probably out there doing hacking that's more engaging than humble Penzu, but the whole PASSWORD thing DOES need to be taken seriously, I don't think there's that place where you enter it twice initially ( or there wasn't ) , so DO engage your general intelligence ( instead of pointlessly venting in your reviews, for example ) , or else you likely be locked out at some point.

I was writing an assignment for school and was almost finished when it completely deleted the assignment. I have no backup and have to completely rewrite it. I have tried everything i can think of, but the only thing I can do is upgrade to penzu pro to view my deleted journals.

For the last 2 days I cannot get into Penzu. I get a message saying that my email and password do not work. Please enter it again. I finally had to get new password to get in yesterday and today I tried to do the same thing today but it will not send me a password reset so I cannot get in at all. T
The "so-called" support team has no contact person to call, message, send e-mail, etc. What kind of company does not actually provide support other than list questions and answers.

The app has been ok till today, even with a big problem: it is supposed to be providing privacy ("free online diary and personal journal focused on privacy") but doesn't really do that. Multiple times I entered my account without the website asking me my TWO passwords: it simply forgot! I tried to fix this improving the settings but no, it just sucks. So consider everything you write (at least in the free subscription) open to be read by anyone...
Things got worse today, when I had the urge to use a text I wrote but I was welcomed by the message: "An error occurred while signing you in. Please check your email and password then try again". Wow. Checking on the internet I found out it happens once in a while or even more (and other issues that sound very worrying). So I guess this is an app for people who write, but don't care about their work: they could lose it, temporary lose access of it, and anyone slightly interested in having a look at it can have it in a bunch of seconds.

Not very good at all, I signed up and wrote one page, and then I could not sign in again after I signed out.
There is no support as it is the free version.
I do NOT recommend this business at all!

Doesn't even upload pictures correctly. Bad customer service.

It has been fine until in the last week when entering the title on the heading, it normally records it on the far left for easy reference.
Now it records the title properly but only the first letter of it on the far left.On the far right it keeps saying "saving" and it never confirms it is saved.
If they do not sort it I am out.

Paid For For Five Wasted Years Subscription. I paid fir a Five year deal and have never been able to access it use the system. Every time I go to sign in, I'm told the password I've entered is wrong. So, I fill in my email details and click the link. An email arrives and I click the link within to choose a new password and confirm it. Return to the sign in screen and am told my new password is wrong. I've even tried copying and pasting the exact information and it still does not work. There's no ojevto help or contact. I did
really like this company' but not any more. Yhey are just a money sucking, cold-hearted uncaring bunch of snakes. Please don't use them.

I used this for years and it was great. The last year. It did not save a single journal entry. I wrote and it showed saved but when I went back to review it didn't exist. It only saved half of the first sentence in most instances. And there is no way to speak to support without a pro account. I do not recommend.
