Phoenix Motorcycle Training - Wigan Avis 

I chose Phoenix from several local options due to their excellent initial communication. The ladies I spoke with were professional, helpful, and made me feel welcome. In contrast, I found other companies in the area to be more expensive and overly aggressive in their approach.

My experience with Phoenix was outstanding, starting with John, who was a true gentleman and made transitioning to a larger bike enjoyable and stress-free. My main instructor, Nick, was exceptional. He made me feel at ease while teaching me at a high level, demonstrating dedication and expertise.

With Nick's training, I passed my Module 1 and Module 2 tests first time, despite having minimal prior experience. I attribute my success to Nick's exceptional teaching ability.

My only concern was not being able to spend an hour at the centre training for my Module 1 test centre course. This was done in another area replicating the centre .Unfortunately, this may have contributed to an unpleasant experience with a rude and very unprofessional examiner at Atherton Manchester test centre. However, this does not reflect on Phoenix, and I was satisfied with the training I received.

I highly recommend Phoenix Motorcycle Training for their professionalism, expertise, and supportive environment. I particularly appreciate the attention and care shown by John and Nick, which made my learning experience positive and successful.

They do everything correct and give you the most possible help they can

Had a top day instructor was great shown us everything we needed to know to operate the bikes and use them safely on the road will be definitely going back after Xmas to do big bike licence thanks again to nick the instructor who had a grate day with definitely recommending to anyone going in for bike or cbt training

Nick and John were amazing at your Wigan branch! They listened to me and gave practical feedback and helped me pass within 7 days. I would not have passed without their help. Thank you very much. I would very much recommend them!

I attended Pheonix a few months ago for my initial tester session to see how they thought my abilities faired and how much training I would require. I felt the estimate given was fair but due to my own nature I asked if I could go on the cautious side.

All lessons were very well enjoyed and I felt that both instructors took their time to examine how best to instruct and train me, giving guidance in various ways I till finding the most effective method, making me feel like the package was tailors to my needs.

After being sick for my first MOD 1 and two failed MOD 2s down to myself making silly errors as well as myself struggling with test nerves, Nick and JB made great strides to give myself small additional training, such as varying the routes to and from test centres, to allow myself to practice and feel more at ease.

Finally passing on my 3rd attempt and feeling rather proud, I really savoured the ride home with JB to the Three Sisters site, hopefully in passing I have repaid the effort they have put into my training and I hope to visit themselves soon to thank them once again in person once my Honda arrives next month.

TL:DR - Two of the finest gents I have ever had the pleasure to encounter, who both ride a Transalp!

I really enjoyed the DAS course at Phoenix Motorcycle Training in Wigan. The instructor was patient, supportive, and gave excellent advice throughout. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get their motorcycle licence.

A really great company and very professional and superb training

Had a text message the night before stating ‘you must arrive by 7:45am otherwise you will not be on the course and will not get your money back’
Which was followed with the instructor turning up at 9:15, to then eat breakfast. After this we then continued to be waiting till around 9:30 which is when we were given the required safety gear. Throughout the practice of the figure of 8’s and learning manovers the instructor on various occasions kept saying to certain people that you must get the hang of this before 1pm or we will not be going out on the road.
6:20pm I finished the course.
What was supposed to be an exciting day to decide whether I go for my bike licence was ruined.
Oh and on a side note there is NO signs as to where the centre is. All 3 of us was wondering round a racetrack to find where the centre was.

I had an incredible experience learning to ride a motorcycle at this school. The entire team was amazing, but I want to give a special shout-out to my instructors, Nick and John. They were both incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and supportive throughout the whole learning process.
Nick has a great way of explaining things clearly and calmly, which really helped me feel confident on the bike. John's energy and enthusiasm made every lesson enjoyable and motivating. Together, they created a perfect learning environment — professional, friendly, and focused on safety.
The lessons were well-structured, with plenty of hands-on practice, and the motorcycles and gear were all in excellent condition. I genuinely looked forward to every session and felt more confident after each one.
Thanks to Nick and John, I passed my motorcycle test on the first try and feel fully ready to ride on my own. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended to anyone looking to learn or improve their riding skills!

Good instructors, nice and welcoming

I would like to thank Nick and Mark at Phoenix Wigan for getting me started on my motorcycle journey.

I initially discovered Phoenix through the free 30 minute try ride sessions in August at North West Honda. From this point forward and with their encouragement I was hooked on the idea of riding.

I booked an initial 1h try ride with Nick in which I learnt so much in such a short time. I went away with such confidence that later that day I had ordered my bike from Honda!

The CBT training was thorough with a very high emphasis on safety. Everything was explained clearly. Whilst I was not quite ready to complete the on road section the first time around, some more interim training to get me more comfortable on the geared bike went well. Shout out to the Leamington Spa branch for fitting me in for two additional hours of tuition when Wigan was booked up. Well worth the drive.

Second CBT was again delivered brilliantly by both Nick and Mark. They were so reassuring whilst also focusing on any important weaknesses to overcome. Knowing that I would be collecting and riding home my new bike the following day, they made a special effort to ensure I had the experience as well as knowledge. The extended period on the road was very much appreciated.

The following day I rode my new been home without any problems and within the week I had been out on a road trip around the Forest of Bowland with a more experienced rider. He was impressed with the level of skill and knowledge I had gained.

However I will be taking some post CBT tuition with Phoenix before progressing to my full license training with them in the near future.

I would also like to compliment the customer service team for their time and patience fitting me in for my sessions around my complicated work rotas

The instructor was very helpful and patient and he made it fun to learn new things about road safety and motorcycles

Having spend time and money using a different motorbike training company and getting nowhere fast, I thought I'd try phoenix (Wigan). I learned more in a 30 minute assessment session with Nick than I had in hours and hours of previous lessons.
I signed up for a 5 day course which included mod 1 and mod 2 tests.
Both trainers, Nick and John are great teachers. They understand how to meet the needs of their students.

Had a really good day doing my CBT at seven sisters in Wigan yesterday really good trainer Nick very helpful.

Just passed my mod 2 today with Pheonix…my instructors nick and John throughout the whole process have been amazing especially nick who took me through the majority of my training giving me great advice, learning and especially keeping me calm and confident on my test days…can’t fault these guys one bit.

Big thank you to JB, an experienced and knowledgeable instructor. Instruction and communication very clear, whilst at the same time delivered in a down to earth manner.
I look forward to returning in the future to further my training.

5 stars amazing day lots of 1 to 1 training Nick is an amazing instructor works around your pace and is a great laugh keeps you fully relaxed. Taught my friend to ride got me into riding.

If your serious about learning to ride a motorbike your first step is to pass your CBT, if you have no experience in riding a motorbike your next step should be Phoenix Motorcycle Training Ashton-in-Makerfield.
Nick the instructor has a great personality that will help relax you, and is extremely passionate about teaching you the right way to ride and to stay safe.
