Phreeli Avis 

Phreeli's customer service is exceptionally helpful out of any CS team I've interacted with. I have a niche hardware/software combination on my phone and they have spent plenty of time doing research and working with me to figure out how to solve unusual problems. The service itself works incredibly well and initial issues and friction have been smoothed over rapidly. Highly recommended!

I have been a customer for about 8 months now. The service has been excellent, and much cheaper than even other secondary carriers I've used, while offering the same or even better features. I had some minor issues with international data while roaming, but otherwise it's been awesome. Switching from my old carrier was pretty easy. I love the commitment to privacy. I had to use customer service early on to resolve an issue with e911 location registration and being sent multiple SIMs, but customer service was very responsive and was able to solve all my problems. So far, it's the best mobile carrier I've used.

After overpaying for a tier 1 carrier for years, but being too lazy to switch, I finally had to switch when I travelled overseas and couldn't use the internet. (Date on review is date of switch.) I heard about Phreeli and liked their commitment to privacy, so I decided to try it out. I signed up with no personal information, got the eSIM, and ported my old number. I got the flex plan for the included high-speed international roaming. The only problem I had was no internet access on the first day, called customer service, and they said it was a known issue they had been looking into that could occur when signing up for the flex plan, then they fixed it right away.

A few months after the switch, I travelled to Europe and was able to verify that I get the full speed international roaming. I've been happy with the service since; never experienced any throttling like I did on the tier 1. I'd recommend if you are an occasional traveler or privacy conscious (or both!)

Excellent experience with signing up, several months of use with no issue, and excellent customer service. Highly recommend this carrier if private prepaid is what you're looking for!

I submitted a form asking about clarification on pricing and about 3 weeks later I received an email reply which said that the rep didn't understand it either and would get back to me. That was about 3 months ago! I'd love be to have a service such as theirs but they don't have their act together.
I used to gave Volta Wireless/Freedom phone service but they went out of business without telling anyone.

So far constant problems that are not fixed in a manner or speed consistent with modern cellular providers of any size. I guess if this is going to be a second line it wouldn't be a big deal, but just telling people to keep waiting is crazy when it is their "daily driver" cell service.

Weeks went by with vague excuses and no assurance that the lack of paid service for weeks without activating a phone number would be made right in any way. Do not waste your money or time.

When I ordered somehow I was double billed. I figured I would just leave it and let it roll over. Problem is that it's been over 3 weeks and still not received the SIM card. Emails take days to get a response and tell me just to keep waiting and that it must be a bug with the portal (showing that it has NOT been shipped). I feel like I've been scammed.

I joined this service because the privacy they offer appealed to me, but my experience setting up the service was a headache. At the center of the headache is their porting web form. It doesn't work. For those who don't know, porting is the process of transferring a phone number from one carrier to another. For a day, I was stuck in an uncomfortable limbo, without my number, without the ability to use my old carrier, and also unable to use Phreeli.

I first filled out the porting form with information from my previous carrier by clicking the "Transfer Your Number" button on the website. After filling out the form, I was taken to a webpage that said the form was accepted and I could check there for status updates. However, when I refreshed the page, the "Transfer Your Number" was back. I tried again several times, to no avail.

I would have liked to call customer support, but instead of having a number I can call, I have to _schedule_ a call _several days_ in advance (after my previous phone contract ends, so I would have no way to take the call). Instead, I sent an email regarding the porting issue.

A day later, I got an email from my former carrier informing me of a successful port-out, but Phreeli still just shows the prompt to "Transfer Your Number." Clicking the button prompts me to fill out the same web form that I already have several times. I sent a follow-up email (still having not received an initial reply).

Eventually, a customer service representative responded and told me to fill out the form _one more time_ with dummy data. After doing so, I got a QR code, which activated my eSIM with the correct number.
