John at Platinum Car Sales is what you call a straight-up, no-nonsense guy. When we arrived, he greeted us, showed us to the vehicle, and gave me space to look it over without feeling watched—which shows he trusts his cars 100%. He goes above and beyond to make sure every vehicle is as perfect as possible. I decided to buy the car, and the paperwork was effortless since he handled everything for me. I drove my Ford Focus ST home, and it didn't miss a beat—drives brilliantly, Thankyou customer for Life here.

Interestingly, calls every bad review a fake and every person who leaves them a liar and yet in the same breath, brings up the 5star reviews as gospel! A review is a review!

I can’t be bothered wasting time or sentences on John so let me sum it up in singulars:

The guy shouldn’t be in business, has no people skills, no business sense and sells faulty cars with fake service records to honest, hardworking people. He relies on bullying tactics and threats to put people off taking it further and simply refuses to refund. He’d rather threaten to come to your house or offer you out round the back of the showroom!

The only thing platinum about this company is the name. And you can polish a turd up so it shines like platinum, still a turd though.

You have been warned! If you’re reading this before buying a car…. Don’t do it! If it’s after, good luck!!!

I recently purchased a Range Rover Evoque from Platinum Car Sales and couldn’t be happier with the whole experience.

John was fantastic from start to finish — friendly, helpful and really easy to deal with, with absolutely no pressure at any point. Morgan was also really helpful, and both made the whole process straightforward and hassle free.

I needed the car fairly quickly, and they went out of their way to accommodate me. They also arranged for me to bring the car back for its MOT and a full valet, which was really appreciated.

I’m extremely happy with the Evoque and the after sales service has been excellent. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend John, Morgan and the team at Platinum Car Sales to anyone looking for a friendly, honest and hassle free car buying experience.

great service, quick and thorough

We bought a Wildtrak from John and he couldn’t have been more helpful. From organising the finance to collection it was easy when I left it in John’s hands.
We drive up from Cornwall to collect and we were really happy with the truck.

I purchased a range rover sport, it took nearly 2 weeks to get delivered which I paid for being told different things blaming the transport company and at one point the dealership not knowing where the vehicle was.

Car came and within 48 hours I had lights come up on the dash-restricted performance in orange and in red.
I alerted the dealership which did answer my message but from day 1 they stall in repairing the car to avoid it under warranty.
The stereo system speakers were blown which I highlighted at first within 48 hours and the wing mirror glass had a fault which they stalled again saying land rover had a cyber attack and was waiting for systems to be up again! Ater many messages and calls, bo replacement no offer on ordering the glass which cost me £349 from land-rover over £300 for all new speakers as yoy couldn't listen to music nor use for phone.
Dealership stalled in repairing any issues-being rude to my local garage who then refused to work with PCS due to his foul unprofessional manner.
The car also has paint peel in a few places not seen in original pics.
Ive had to repair inlet manifold and lamda sensor resulting in the crank bearings also being a major issue and no offer of repair or compensation.
Oh because they block you via messenger via WhatsApp and fb. I was also called a child because I couldn't answer my phone due to working in the mental health and disabilities industry and phones going off is a big trigger for my clients.
Very unprofessional in all ways they stall to avoid repairing any issues under warranty fobbing you off left right and centre like the cowboy car sales people we see in programmes I would avoid spending any money here as they are frauds! Sell dodgy vehicles which for example my car the issues are costing between £4000-£10000
Remember i highlighted issues with in 48.
They are more than welcome to come and knock on my door with their pleasant attitudes and arrogance but will block you like the cowboy cowards they are.

Let's wait for their bs reply and dont believe a word they say.

And after my review getting messages calling me mentally retarded when I work with in the sector, telling me to get a proper job-guess ripping people off is a 'proper job"
He also tried to be homophobic and say for me to get raped by 'my bf' 😅for the record im not gay.
Tried to be threatening but I offered my address and he blocked me like the little man syndrome bxtch he is.
And bit a bit!
I would of expected a bit more professionalism from a car dealership whether you spend a grand or 100 grand.
So avoid at all costs!
They obviously dont like honest reviews!

And now they reply when I have receipts and a statement from the garage from December the 9th within 2 months and I did pay for it all who else would? I have it on my bank statements so id like you to get your facts right Johnathon.
Also if you remember you tried the cheap Chinese copy of the wing mirror glass which caused a fault on the dash and your words "land rover is having a cyber attack we will order the Genuine glass when its up and running" which you didnt do.
You are fraudsters conmen and a cowboy.
And using the mental health card is breaching the equalities act as well as breaching the consumers rights act 2015 which CAB trading standards and the motor Ombudsman is on the case!
Then you try giving it the Billy big balls like the sausage you are! But it dont work.
So still beware people theyve had over a week to reply they block you like children because they know they're in the wrong! I have lovely saved messages and all info in receipts and paperwork. Youre more than welcome to see it all! But you will hide behind your keyboard and phone you wet wipe 🤣🤣🤣🤣
They even lost my vehicle originally as their communication is as good as their bs they feed you!

Bought a lovely blue Honda civic from this company and they didn’t fault in any way. Perfect service and lovely people overall. Would 100% trust these people if I was to get another car. Lovely wide veriety of vehicles all in immaculate condition. 5 stars without a doubt in my mind.

Called about a white RR Evoque on website spoke to Jason (lovely guy). He didnt know where it was (workshop or at new site) but it was available. Arranged to call in later that day as my husband also needed a car anyway.
Met Jason, husband bought a car. Jason helped me do finance application for mine and said he would call when it was there. Mon morn call from John, the car was sold and Jason didnt know. Fair enough mistakes happen. John offered me another 2 yrs newer 2 grand more and less miles for £800 deposit. Saw it on website and i was happy. John said its off site so would call when its there. Tuesday John calls, he has the car but its making a noise so its going in workshop.Tues aft my husband calls, car still in workshop. Weds morn husband phones again (Jason) says they are short staffed so doubts it will be ready that day. Husband goes to garage that afternoon to pick up the one he bought. Husband video calls me from garage and says look what John did for you. He shows me a RR evoque with pink bows on it (totally different car from the one im buying same year, different reg and spec) and john is in background saying "I thought you were coming to pick it up". Eventually establish thats the wrong car and husband gives him my £800 for the right car which is still in workshop.
Next day finance call me. I need to pay a 2 grand deposit as £800 isnt enough. Finance say its due to car being overpriced.
I call john and this is the start of days of phone calls where he says things like "stick it on a credit card, have the black one instead"(already told him i hate black cars) . In the end I say I can go a bit higher if he can come down by £500. He says no he cant.
At this point im gutted but realise I cant afford any of his so I start looking elsewhere . I find a car somewhere else so ask for my deposit back. John says "I cant now because I have just spent 3 grand putting a new timing chain on the white one for you". On the ad it says its already had one fitted! I question this and john says thats a mistake its a different car. Anyway he insists he wont return the deposit as its me walking away from the sale. Firstly, it was all done over the phone so I get 14 days to cool off. Secondly, a deal was done for £800 not 2 grand. John says to call back next day to sort it.
Next day we call several times and speak to Jason and Morgan (lovely lad) but John never available. He calls me back that evening and Speaks to my husband. He says "man to man, i will give you £500 and give my boys the other £300". Husband says no, its her money she wants it back. John then goes off on one saying we must be really hard up if we will argue over £300, and how he wouldnt need to finance a car as he can pay cash. Eventually he says he will send us a cheque, when my husband asked why it couldnt be put straight back on my card he said "I can pay it however I want".
2 hours later John sends me whatsapp, as soon as i see its from him i passed phone to my husband as by this point im done. He changed his mind and will put it back on our card. Finally I have my money back and im done with the whole nightmare.
Sad part is, Jason and Morgan were great, husband bought a car with them no issue. Ive never known a business owner to speak to customers the way John does let alone refusing to return a deposit! I wish I had read all the other reviews before going there. Reading through them all I know they are true because we experienced it first hand.
Hold on to your money and go elsewhere!!!!!!

From the first phone call to driving off in my new car was seamless, easy, straight forward and overall incredible.

I dealt with John the owner of the business which he has wealth of knowledge and it wasn't sales tactics he was honest, truthful and very patient.

The cars on offer are brilliant, well looked after and very fairly priced there is no over inflation on the vehicles you pay for what you get.

Even with after sales care from John himself was fast informative and brilliant.

I cannot recommend John & the team more !! Keep up the good work and I will be back in the future for my next purchase.

I recently purchased a Kia sportage from this garage had a couple of problems at the start but couldn’t be more happier as the owner done the up most best to fix the minor issues had the car back with in a few days with all fixed not only did he give me a good reliable courtesy car while mine was being fixed was also I touch daily. Would highly recommend him and and future cars I will be purchasing in future will be heading to platinum cars first call. Friendly staff and a great owner was a pleasure doing business with.

Couldn’t have asked for better.

I needed a replacement van in a very short timescale with specific requirements for it.

Vehicle was sourced to the spec I wanted and ordered in on a Friday night, keys were in my hand after a thorough check by platinum cars, with time to spare before my family holiday.

Fantastic package put together for me at a really good price and kept in constant contact throughout.

Will be using again, recommend to everyone.
