SCAM. $0 balance, takes your personal info, India based
Look at all the reviews on here- why is this company still allowed to rip people off?? I received a gift card (as a GIFT, from someone else) and when I tried to register to make an online purchase it kept telling me invalid, then has an option for “if your card is not working…” and it makes you then enter your full name and address, which I did. That didn’t work either says I have to call the number on the back. This thing claims to be issued by a real bank but now I am wishing I did not enter my information and presume it is just going to be sold or used for more scams. Then bc times are tough and I wanted to know if I could use $50 for groceries I called the number on the back. It’s a call center in India. She made me provide my full name for “the verification process.” I asked why she needed my full name if I didn’t purchase it, my name wouldn’t be affiliated with it. She just kept repeating its part of the verification process. I say fine, give her my name, read the card number and barcode on the back and provide the state of purchase. She tells me THE BALANCE IS $0. You couldn’t have just told me there was $0 without gathering my personal information? I’ve heard of gift cards being sold with no money on them but together with the information they make you enter on the website and over the phone just to find out the balance screams SCAM. I’m mad that I gave them any information. And wasted my time with this bullshit. This is literally a scam and I will be reporting to the AG for my state. I encourage others to do the same because this is obviously a scam ripping people off, including the people that pay for the card and the idiots like me who provide their full information just to be told the balance is $0.
I purchased a $100 prepaid gift card…
I purchased a $100 prepaid gift card from Kroger that is linked to prepaidgiftbalance.com, and it has been a complete disappointment. The card will not work, and there is no clear support or resolution process. It’s unacceptable that these cards are being sold publicly when customers are left without access to the money they loaded onto them.
This feels misleading and unfair to consumers who trust well-known retailers to provide legitimate products. I strongly advise others to avoid this card until the company takes accountability and fixes these issues.
100% scam
100% scam. I have three different gift cards I've received over the past year...a Mastercard for $100 and two Visas for $50 each. All three reflect "zero balance because they weren't loaded) - which is a load of bulls***. Would consider small claims but I have no clue who/when I received these (typically from promotions, like Kroger of AT&T, etc.).
SCAM, SCAM, SCAM...
SCAM, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM... A Mastercard gift card given as a present did not work. I finally got around to using it earlier today. Result = nothing but error messages. I should have known that this was a scam when it routed me to speak with someone. Some Indian guy with an extremely thick accent mumbled requests for too many copies of information. Result = The card supposedly worth $200, is worthless. These "prepaidgiftbalancecards"/1.888.8539536 cards are BOGUS!!!!! Tell EVERYONE THAT YOU KNOW TO AVOID THEM!!!!!!! I am keeping this piece of plastic to show people what not to buy.
Absolute scam- they claimed my card…
Absolute scam- they claimed my card which was brand new and unopened was already registered and I would need to send my ID in FAX (in 2025 smh) for them to re-register and send me a new card and would not give me balance or any information. very shady, unhelpful and rude customer service. I would never buy a GC from these crooks and encourage others to look elsewhere unless you want to lose the money. Also, website conveniently doesnt work.
Someone should arrest these people.
My wife is on the phone right now and the website and the phone people are trying to get her to FAX (not upload) her drivers license and other info. We have not been able to use these cards from the beginning and now they say they are "compromised" and they need our personal info. We have $500 of these from a friend - time to get a lawyer now if my wife can't get this resolved.
i registered on line as i was told
i registered on line as i was told. they would not approve. i was told to call..... no way im not calling there scamy company.
This is the third time I received a new…
This is the third time I received a new gift card with the balance already depleted. This company is a total fraud. I called and they want to collect all of your personal information for their “report”. No thanks. I asked if I called US Banks fraud department could they resolve this issue. She gave some long drawn out reason why they cannot do it. So I looked closer at the fine print. It actually says “US Bank National Association”. Sounds pretty made up to me. Why are retailers even selling these to consumers? Thanks for stealing $200 from me over the last year. I am no longer allowing gift card use at our company. Terrible.
SCAMMERS “Never buy this gift card”
We only used 15$ of 200$ gift now that card is not working, we called customer service they asked to fax documents we we did for literally 12 times they keep saying the documents are not clear then they asked me mail the documents which we did but now they are saying they didn’t receive it even we have a tracking info that someone signed to pick it up. They keep giving new reasons. Waste of our time , money and energy
Total fraud!
Total fraud!! I paid for a gift card. And it's telling me, that I don't have a balance!!
Got hung up on three times
Got hung up on three times. Customer service representatives were extremely rude and gave me no help or answers. Lost $100 through them, so that’s awesome. Especially right before Christmas.
Tried to go online and also called the…
Tried to go online and also called the number on the card, and it tells me the card number isnt valid. It has $100 on it, was a gift. So they took my money and no card with this number in their database.
To be completely honest i received it…
To be completely honest i received it through my email as part of a settlement. I used the money to pay for this years 2024 halloween costume. I made to separate purchases one at walmart which i pick up today. With confirmed receipt of payment. The other through Amazon also with receipt of payment and confirmed delivery date from seller. I will say that the process to use it could be simplified. Its almost as if they make it difficult to never have to pay it out because it goes unclaimed. But it does/did work for me.
prepaidgiftbalance.com is a SCAM
I was given 2 gift cards from prepaidgiftbalance as a birthday gift. One with a $100 balance and the other with $25. What a scam. It is impossible to register either of them online or on the phone.
Anything but a gift
I thought I lost my card, so I reported it missing a few days ago. Thankfully I registered the card! The associate on the phone told me I would need to fax them proof of my ID along with a note saying I did not possess the physical card in order to receive another card. On top of that, you have to pay $5.95 to get a replacement. When I later found the found stuck to the back of a book in my bag, I tried to use it but found that the card had been deactivated. When I called back, the first associate demanded the entire number on the back of the barcode which is ludicrous because you can never trust call center people. When I tried to login online without luck, I called back and the second person only asked for the last 8 digits. So even though I found it the same day and attempted to use it, I still had to end up paying them money to replace the card because their system cannot reinstate a deactivated card. They probably still operate on Windows 95 in this office from the sounds of it. You'd think $6 might get you expedited shipping, but I will receive the card, minus the replacement funds, in 7-14 days. I was given a mailing address to deliver my complaint as well, figured I would start here first. I will be telling my employer not to utilize their services again because this certainly was anything but a gift.
Scammers!!!
Scammers!!!! I called to see why I had a $1 balance and the blood suckers said a $49 charge was made in California and my card was compromised (I live in Charlotte NC and I never used the card). He wanted my full name, social security number, address, phone number and picture ID. I told the guy to burn in hell for taking advantage of people.
Absolutely ridiculous customer service
Absolutely ridiculous customer service! Received a $100 gift card from someone, used the card one time. The 2nd time was declined! Still $87 remain on the card, that now says fraud alert, and card was deactivated! Like a fool I have sent copies of my Identification and the actual gift card twice through their website! Now, they have the nerve to tell me I did it wrong! It's their system! Now they want me to fax copies of the ID, and gift card, at 150%, and 200% size so that I'm not mistaken again, and customer service can read the copies!! This company has had my money for 5 months, and looks like they do this stuff quite often! Looks like Kroger/giftcardbalance.com found a loophole. They hold our money for months make the interest of it and if they decide to settle which it looks rare, they are making money by holding our money as long as possible! Think they'll give us interest for holding our money for 6 months??? Kroger is an embarrassment to the gift card business! I hope our lawsuit takes a hold, and all that interest plus more comes back to us Jack!
PLEASE DONT GET THIS CARD!
PLEASE DONT GET THIS CARD!! TOO MUCH OF A HUSTLE. NO HELP FRIM CUSTOMER SUPPORT
SCAM….
SCAM….. DO NOT BUY THESE OR SEND THEM ANY INFO…. I HOPE YOU ROT IN HELL YOU PIECES OF S#!T
