I would give 0 stars if possible. Initial card limit was $1200. I made my payments on time, got limit doubled. I paid the card off in full on 2/17. On Mar 7, my credit limit was reduced to $500 without any notice. I just called to ask what happened to my limit and was told "oh, your credit score changed so it was decreased." No, it hasn't. But ok whatever. Then he says "you'll be eligible for increases again." I worked hard to make my payments and pay it off and you all took the limit down by $1900. WTH?!?
Not worth the Headache
Easy to get but company insists that it's tied to your bank account for payments.
If you change banks and accidentally put wrong numbers in the will close down card for 10 day approx till payment is made or caught up. Even when card is paid up the often tag card for fraud usually at most in opportune times such trying to get fuel or groceries. (I have only used mine in emergencies) Feel that their system sucks and it takes days for them to get card active again.Yes, it did help build credit but moving to a hassle free lower interest card.
Stay away from this Credit Card
am a new Prosper Credit Card holder and had an extremely negative experience from the start.
I used the card once for a $14 purchase at Target. Shortly afterward, Prosper charged a $39 annual fee. I immediately contacted customer service to request a waiver and was told it would not be removed.
I then explicitly asked to close the account and stated I would pay the remaining balance. I submitted a $20 payment, which was more than the original charge. Despite this, Prosper continued to assess late fees and interest, even though the issue was caused by their refusal to resolve the billing dispute.
My balance has now ballooned to $88 for a $14 purchase.
I requested to speak with a supervisor and received no response. Customer service was unhelpful and dismissive, and the situation escalated entirely due to Prosper’s failure to properly close the account and correct their own billing.
This feels predatory and misleading, especially toward new cardholders. If you are considering this card, be aware that small charges can quickly turn into large balances due to fees, and resolving disputes appears unnecessarily difficult.
Do not accept this card
I thought I was making a good decision to accept this card.. They initially gave me a $1800 credit line.. I used it sparingly throughout the year and ALWAYS paid on time.. I go to use it last year for school clothes for my children but I checked the app before buying, my limit dropped from $1800 to $500.. I didn't use the card that day.. Then 3 months later, it goes up randomly to $1600... I use it this month to pay a bill, then I get a notice that my limit dropped once again, this time to $600.. They can do whatever they want, even if youre a customer with outstanding credit and usage.. Luckily I didn't use the card enough to make me go over the limit when they decided to randomly decrease my limit... If I could close this account I would today.. Unfortunately I need to pay my balance of $380 first and then Im DONE with their business and bs tactics... My credit history is excellent, payments always on time, 33% usage on all cards.. They have no reason to just randomly take away what THEY offered...
I am so disgusted with this credit…
I am so disgusted with this credit card. I have never missed a payment and some months pay even more yet they have started reducing my credit limit. I called and the non English speaking woman told me that I would need to call the credit bureaus. My credit score has continually risen for the last 6 months yet they are blaming my credit score for the reduction of my credit limit. If closing the account had no bearing on my credit score I would close it in a minute. Think twice!!
I had $2600 credit limit and a $2620…
I had $2600 credit limit and a $2620 balance. I paid $1700. They dropped my credit limit to $1100 after the payment. Now i have $100 in available credit and they just pocketed my payment. This is two weeks before Christmas. I've never had a late payment. Oh and I still have a $900 balance with nothing to show for.
ZERO stars if I could.
ZERO stars if I could.
I entered a hardship payment arrangement where reduced monthly payments were supposed to be handled automatically via autopay. On the first due date, autopay was inexplicably off, so I manually paid the agreed amount and turned autopay on to prevent issues.
This morning, my bank account showed two identical charges for the hardship payment plus an extra unauthorized $60. Customer service—outsourced overseas—gave me a nonsensical excuse that autopay triggered both the arrangement amount and the balance due. That explanation is absurd, especially since I’ve used MANUAL PAY WITH AUTOPAY TURNED ON before without ever being double‑charged.
Their only “solution” was to submit a vague ticket, leaving me to dispute the charges with my bank. The hardship agreement never required autopay to be off, and their contradictory handling proves their systems are broken, their customer service is useless, and their practices border on deceptive.
Avoid this company at all costs.
Horrible company
Horrible company. They will harass you to no end with physical mail, raising your credit limit one week and decreasing it a week later. They will ‘encourage’ you to pay your ‘delinquent’ balance when you have never once been delinquent. They will refuse to investigate fraudulent charges but will advise they have documentation to prove you made the charge. However, when you request copies of this documentation, they will refuse to send it because, actually, there is no documentation. Unbelievable how this company continues to operate when they should be shut down and fined. Not to mention the data breach the company won’t even speak of!
YOU DO NOT NEED THIS CARD! Ever. Stay away from this company.
Stay away!
Stay away!! Nothing but trouble is you find you’ve been the victim of a fraud.
I had a fraudulent transaction for tickets and they refused my dispute at first then decided it was not in my favor. The real fraud is THIS company calling themselves a company.
PRE-APPROVED DECLINED
They sent me pre-approved offer, my CR almost 700 and they declined CC application. Lunatics, you are in blacklist for life.
I accepted this offer to have a back up…
I accepted this offer to have a back up card just in case. I have had it about two years, used it sporadically, made all payments on time and in fact always pay 2-3 times more than the minimum.
Received a letter today cutting my credit limit in half because they didn’t like my score went down.
My bureaus are all frozen so how can they see it?
Closed the account.
Don’t be lured in. They will damage your credit more by these arbitrary stunts.
Terrible company
Terrible company. I have tried using the card multiple times and every time it is declined. I carry a zero balance because I can never actually use the card and they just charge me an annual fee because of it. Additionally I just received a “cybersecurity” incident email saying my social security number was compromised. Do yourself a favor and open a BrightWay card instead.
I called them up to dispute a charge…
I called them up to dispute a charge on my card and they told me to call the customer up.. What a joke.
Received this card about 2 years ago…
Received this card about 2 years ago and everything was great...limit of $1600.00, used it, paid it down, used it, paid it off, over the course of the first year or so. With no warning at all, and was NEVER notified from them that they had lowered my limit to $900.00 until 2 weeks later...even though I was already notified from Experian on the next day that Prosper had lowered it. When they did that my credit score dropped a ton for 2 reasons...1 - the lower credit limit (expected), but 2 - the balance to limit ratio also goes up and they ding you for that, so it's really a double whammy for your credit score. They have now done this to me twice in the last year or so...mind you - never late, paid early, paid more. and now my limit is down to $700.00. at the rate they're going, in another year or so I'm waiting for them to just cancel the card. Their customer service is overseas and they can't help you in anyway, you can't talk to anyone in America. They tell you that your credit score is lower than it was when opened the account...not true at all. Credit scores go up and down almost daily (maybe one or two points), but in this case every time they lower my limit that's when my score drops, they're the ones causing it to lower and then the ding you again because of their actions. And in they're letters and emails they claim to be (LOOKING OUT FOR YOUR BEST CREDIT INTEREST) when it's them messing up your credit in the first place. Read reviews...they do this action A LOT over and over and over again. When this card is paid off (AND REAL SOON) I'm closing this account and mailing their card back to them in pieces. Do yourself a HUGE!!!!!!!favor, STAY AWAY FROM THESE FOLKS.
I need a loan
Trash Company
I was a customer for three years since 2022. I always paid at least the minimum every month on autopay. 7/22 min payment of $30 went through. 7/23 i came into some money and paid $670 to pay off the card. I then closed the account since it was one of my last cards left that had an annual fee. The balance on the account was confirmed zero and account closed. 7/25 i receive an alert that a statement is available and i owe $17.18 which is just interest. I call to dispute this. They said the payoff was made the day after the 7/22 due date (even though the statement closed 7/25 when the balance was zero). I escalated the issue and they put in a work order. I didn't hear back so i called today 8/5/2025. They basically said there was nothing they could do and i would have to pay the money. It's absurd that i paid off the balance PRIOR to the statement closing date, but i still have to pay interest! What is the point of a statement closing date if that date isn't relevant for calculating interest?! Customer of 3 years with hundreds if not thousands paid to them in interest from me alone and they can't be bothered for $17.18. Ridiculous. Don't sign up for Prosper credit cards / Coastal Community Bank. Find someone else. They don't care about you in the slightest and outsource their customer service (to India or thereabouts)
Summer vacation ruined
I recently received an increase, immediately after my card was compromised, like an inside job being the city/state the transactions took place in coincidentally took place near the shipping center the notice of increase came from. After that situation was resolved I made a larger payment so I could use my card to pay for the hotel for our family vacation. The next day my whole payment was used and credit line reduced so that all that i added would no longer be available. We had to cancel our family vacation because I trusted Prosper to use as the credit card for our hotel stay. As soon as it's paid off, I'm closing. Soooo if you do decide to use Prosper do not depend on the credit to be available when you really need it. I regret putting our vacation money on this card. It has ruined our family's summer.
Up until this month
Up until this month, loved them
Changed checking accounts, everything good on app end but all payments declined. They had BOTH checking accounts, did not delete OLD account, took payments from old acct even though app indicated new account was used. It wasn't sO now they are charging late fees etc. THEY ARE INCAPABLE OF GETTING YOUR PAYMENT ACCOUNT CORRECT. GOOD BYE CREDIT SCORE. THEY JUST TANKED MINE.
I have used this card
I have used this card. I pay my payments on time 100%! I received an increase. Which was nice. However, I just had surgery and I’m still in recovery and I was running late On my payment and all I wanted was a two day extension on my payment. Two days! And they denied it! I just really do not understand this after 100% payment history!
This is the worst company ever
This is the worst company ever ! Do not do business with them .Every month there's an issue with making my payment! This doesn't happen with any other card ! This card is nothing but a headache ! They need to be investigated and put out of business !
