We had such a wonderful stay at this lovely cottage. The location was absolutely beautiful and everything was perfect for a relaxing getaway. We really enjoyed our time here and made some lovely memories. The cottage was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. We’d definitely love to come back again. Thank you for such a lovely experience.

Our experience with Puffin Cottage Holidays was extremely disappointing from start to finish.

We drove approximately five hours to begin our holiday, only to arrive and find that the accommodation we had booked was not available. The owner was there carrying out repairs and planning to stay overnight, He said he had not been informed by Puffin Cottage Holidays that there had been any bookings. In our opinion, the property was not in a condition that was ready for guests, with work still taking place, and we did not consider it reasonable or acceptable to stay.

With no suitable accommodation available, we had no option but to turn around and drive the five hours home again, making it a 10-hour round trip for absolutely nothing.

Puffin Cottage Holidays refunded the cost of the holiday, but then refused to reimburse our £79.36 petrol costs, despite asking us to provide our fuel receipts for consideration. We were not asking for compensation for the wasted day, the disappointment, or the 10-hour round trip caused by their booking error. We were simply asking them to reimburse the direct fuel costs we incurred because of their mistake.

The company has since claimed that we were offered the option of waiting approximately 30 minutes for the apartment to be made ready. That is not how we remember the events. We do not accept that this was communicated to us at the time, and the condition of the property did not give us any confidence that it was ready to be occupied.

What disappointed us even more was the way our complaint was handled. When I explained that, if the matter could not be resolved, I would leave an honest review of our experience, I was met with the response, "Thank you for the threat." I found this dismissive, unprofessional and an astonishing way to respond to a genuine customer complaint from someone whose holiday had already been ruined.

Mistakes can happen, and we appreciate that no business is perfect. What matters is how those mistakes are dealt with. In our experience, Puffin Cottage Holidays failed to take responsibility for the financial loss their booking error caused us, despite refunding the holiday itself. A modest request for reimbursement of our petrol costs was refused, and our complaint was handled in a way that left us feeling ignored and undervalued as customers.

Based on our experience, we would not book through Puffin Cottage Holidays again and cannot recommend them to others. If you are considering booking with this company, I would strongly encourage you to read all of their reviews and decide for yourself whether this is the level of customer service you would be happy to receive if something goes wrong.

We stayed at Bay View Cottage in Saundersfoot end of June 26. It was simply exceptional. A fabulous find in a gorgeous location. The cottage was immaculate and attention to detail was exceptional. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We will be back !!

We had a fantastic time with puffin holidays the accommodation was fantastic had everything we needed and very comfortable. Great location and very clean.
More than expected great value for money

The booking process is simple and easy. All the booking documentation was really clear and super quick to arrive. We were contacted the day before to ask if there were any questions, Finding the apartment and instructions of how to get the keys was great. It was spotless when we went in with beautifully made beds, clean towels and some really thoughtful touches. There was everything I needed in there to cook whatever we wanted, Security deposit was returned within a week. I would definitely use Puffin Holidays again. They show that a small company can be just as efficient and caring as the larger companies.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Valley Retreat, it was just perfect for the five of us.

The property is extremely well appointed and set in a lovely quiet location with just a short walk (10 minutes for us and around 15 for my 80+ year old parents) down to Saundersfoot village and all the amenities.

We could not fault Puffin Holidays and really appreciated the 'PCH Rewards', which we made good use of - especially MamGu's (the Welsh cakes are lovely), and the Royal Oak (food and service excellent).

Great holiday and will definitely consider using Puffin Holidays again.

We spent most of our stay in and around Tenby / Penally blessed with sunny weather for our stay so never ventured out with the car as we didn't feel the need to explore having visited Pembrokeshire before. There is a little train station a minutes walk away on the Cardiff to Pembroke line which is a great cheap way to visit places if you want to explore. We would highly recommend the area and if you're bringing your dog we'd recommend taking advantage of the dog friendly beaches, especially before and after the summer season. Gorse cottage provides a lovely homely stay and the furnishings are of a high standard . There's plenty of room and great views from the rear of the property, with a little conservatory. Parking is a little tight and on a steep slope so beware if you have a large car but there's plenty of accessible spaces in the village if needed. Garden is a good size and great storage in the garage. Would recommend and return.

Absolutely amazing week in Saundersfoot, we were lucky with the weather and walked into town every day, the cottage was more then excellent, fantastic views from all the rooms facing the beach, the cottage itself was immaculately clean with everything we needed for our stay, apart from the limited parking space (which nothing could have been done to change) the cottage has possibly the best view of Saundersfoot and we took it in turns to sit in the bay window watching the tide rise and fall.

We had a lovely stay at Midnight in the Easter holidays. Booking was really easy and the team at Puffin holidays were friendly and helpful.

Lovely accommodation, clean and functional. Close to everything you could need in Tenby.

Excellent 6 of us stayed all accommodated no issues every thing you could ask for thank you for our amazing 4days stay

Puffin Cottage Holidays have some great dog friendly properties and there Customer service is the best in Tenby/Pembrokeshire.

We stayed in a bungalow in Saundersfoot and the whole property felt recently decorated and furnished. It was spacious, comfortable and in a quiet area and contains all the everyday things that make it easy to enjoy staying there. We stayed in December and were particularly impressed by the Christmas tree complete with twinkling lights in the living room.
Walking to the centre of Saundersfoot was easy and only took about ten minutes (although it takes a bit longer to get back as it's all uphill).
All aspects of the arrangements for arrival and departure and the information folder were excellent and much appreciated.

Wonderful service from start to finish. The company and staff were very helpful in trying to resolve any problems we had and the accommodation was just as described.
