Purbeck Insurance Avis 

I received illegal spam from "James Potter - Business Development Manager" sent to an email address that is not a business address and has never been used by anyone.

Our client's experience with Purbeck has been second to none. James has been responsive, professional and adapted the insurance facility to meet our client's specific needs. This ultimately gave our client confidence to proceed with their next investment knowing their interests are protected.

Onboarding easy enough, as you'd expect, but having not made a claim or indeed, expecting to, I can't review Purbeck for anything that really matters, hence 3 stars.

Despite having removed and blocked them from my email address and 'unsubscribed' they are now spamming me from a different email address they are using. I have emailed and even called them to remove me, yet they still persist in emailing me products that are not even relevant to me and don't even have my right name. Now reported to the ombudsman.

They do what they promise. Very professional, very clear, very fair and very quick. Thanks

Thankful I had this policy in place as had to liquidate a business last year for which I had some personal guarantees for business creditors which were called in resulting in having to make a claim on the PG policy. Support and service provided by Purbeck was excellent throughout the whole process and Nick, Todd, Keir, Emily and the rest of the team have been brilliant. Massive weight taken off my shoulders and can’t recommend enough.

Make sure you read the policy wording *very* carefully before signing up for anything from Purbeck.

Paid £000s in premium over a few months only to have them not pay a penny out because we couldn't use their own administrators and as such "invalidated the entire policy". This was due to our secured creditor being able to appoint their own, which is absolutely standard practice and something Purbeck would've known with the type of debt facility we were using.

Note that the "panel" of administrators referred to in the policy document is a "panel" of one - Opus LLP.

Purbeck also refused to honour the payment of any legal fees but instead offered to 'introduce you to their lawyers', presumably so they could get another referral fee / commission as with their preferred administrators. This is AFT Assist, who are 'specialists in business debt reduction agreements'.

Based on what I've now come to understand from other reviews and our recent experience, what you're going to be sold is definitely not what you're going to get if you get into the unfortunate position of having to make a claim on this policy.

You'd do better to put the premium equivalent in a savings account and using it for your own legal representation if the need arises.

Purbeck provided specialist insurance at a competitive price for my company. At all times they acted promptly and professionally, and the transaction was smoothly undertaken. I have no hesitation recommending them as an excellent insurance broker.

Beware ! All of the 5 star reviews relate to the experiences of signing up or renewing policies. None relate to what happens if you make a claim ! Entirely different experience !!!!!!
My company had built up an 80% no claims on our policy and were paying almost £10K pa in premiums, but in the event of a claim we got less than 20% of our claim.
One star is too much for this but I couldn't give a minus 5 star review.

Having worked with Purbeck for a over a year now they are excellent in their approach, response and communication, aswell as their unrivalled product.

When referring a client, time is of the essence and reliance on that client being looked after is key. I have absolutely no hesitation when referring a client to Purbeck as my last case demonstrated.
