Lodge was very nice .Well set out and equipped however there where some maintenance issues which you wouldn't expect for a property in this price range ie broken hinge on shower door . Missing dish... Voir plus

Retallack perfect stay

Stayed at the Retallack resort in Puffin during the Easter holidays. The lodge itself was beautiful, very clean and nice little extra touches like cream tea left for us was really appreciated! The set up of two bedrooms upstairs and two downstairs suited us perfectly as two family’s staying together.
Also loved the enclosed deck area as children could play safely outside.
Only one minor issue with the washing machine which Amy sorted quickly for us. Will 100% be returning and will not hesitate to book through Queenwood holidays.

What a fantastic house

What a fantastic house! 12 of us have just spent Easter here including grandchildren and dogs. We’ve just had the best time. The pool and hot tub are brilliant. The garden is amazing. The house is spotlessly clean and so spacious. So peaceful at night as well. We will definitely return here !

Our Happy Place

My family have been holidaying at The Herons for over 10 years, we absolutely love it. We consider it our home from home, our happy place.

There will always be a special place in our hearts for The Herons, our children have grown up holidaying there.

We hope to holiday there for many more years to come, the year just wouldn’t be the same without a family stay at The Herons making precious memories.

We decided to stay in one of the…

We decided to stay in one of the beautiful properties (Skylark) last year at Retallack with Queenwood holidays to celebrate my 50th birthday and have just booked another stay for this September in Rockpool. Nothing was too much trouble and the setting is idyllic. Would highly recommend!! Can’t wait to come back!!

We thoroughly enjoyed the Skylark Lodge…

We thoroughly enjoyed the Skylark Lodge and the fantastic accommodation. It exceeded our expectations and we would love to come again and enjoy the view, comfort and tranquility. The location was excellent in terms of the site position as well as the proximity to the coast, with Padstow only 15 minutes away and other beautiful bays too, including Watergate Bay.

Fantastic holiday house

We had a wonderful stay at the house on Ratellack Resort during the Easter break. The Queenswood Holidays team were attentive and professional, providing everything we needed. The house itself was beautiful, clean and very well appointed. Everything was as described and the living areas were very spacious. The kitchen was well stocked with items required when cooking for large groups, including two ovens and fridges and plenty of large pots and pans (often lacking in large holiday lets). The hot tub was fantastic and someone popped by during the week to check the levels and clear the filters. All in all a fantastic stay!

Samphire lodge 30…

We stayed at the Samphire lodge number 30. Perfectly placed on the site opposite the lake and walking distance to all amenities. Had some small issues on arrival but was swiftly sorted after messaging Amy and the cleaning team arrived within 15mins. We have stayed at the resort before but this property was very well laid out, spacious and comfortable. Catered for a bigger family in every way. Plenty of room for toddler to run around! Amy kept in touch throughout the week. We had a rented hot tub which was set up on arrival and was ready to use the following morning. Outside space was a nice size to sit and entertain. Hot tub wasn’t private so if you are a little conscious you can be seen from the road. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our time. The house did what we needed it to and the site has plenty to do. Amy gave us all the info prior to us arriving and went smoothly checking in.

5* holiday in a beautiful lodge

We had a great time at Skylark Lodge. Amy's customer service was flawless. She dealt with issues quickly, her team too were all polite and friendly and did all they could to help us. The lodge itself was well appointed, everything worked well, and we had an amazing week and even wanted to stay on longer. Couldn't rate it more highly and will definitely be going back in the summer.

0* Customer Service

Reading through previous reviews, I can relate to a lot of what is being explained about the sheer lack of customer service. This is the first time I have ever gone out of my way to write a negative review but feel it is worth it to stop the same issues happening with others.

We arrived on site in Retallick reception who sent us down the road to our lodge and told we should have have everything confirmed with queenwood holidays already. I had no confirmation of a code to access the key to the lodge so found a number and called Amy. Amy was clearly suprised we had a booking and explained we are not booked into the lodge I had paid for but we are in a 'much better' lodge in which we could also pay a extra cost of £200 to use the heated pool. I accepted this was okay, got in to the lodge and must admit it was a lovely venue - cant fault the size/setup.

However, the hot tub has no temp gauge and it was not warming up. I called Amy who did not answer, after repeatedly calling I managed to get an answer and was told an engineer would be out shortly and that it just takes a few hours to warm up. I am assuming this is because it was not prepped as our arrival was not expected.

The hot tub was still not working the next morning, no contact from Amy so left in limbo. However, 11am the next morning a man arrived explaining he is no expert and effecively had no idea. Messed around a bit, tried to call Amy (no answer to which he explained he was not surprised by this) and explained we just had to wait for it to warm up. An engineer arrived later in the day and effectively said the same thing. To keep the story short, the hot tub finally heated up Sunday late morning which was our last day. It was explained this is because it was not given time to warm up. This was frustrating as we could see the lodge we had booked ad paid for, with a fully working hot tub and people in it.

I called Amy plenty of times over the weekend but was then completely ignored. Once back home, I lodged a complaint to receive a partial refund where we agreed a figure due to the hot tub not working. I was dealt with a lack of respect and mis information. 3 weeks later, no refund received, I had to call Amy 14 times in 3 days (got an answer to 1 call, when called from a withheld number) to finally get through. It was promised the refund would be received in 10 minutes and the accounts team were blamed.. it never arrived that day. After further ignored calls and message sent over explaining this was the worst customer services I have ever received, we finally received our refund which was not to the value I would expect but not worth the hassle of trying to chase Amy.

The venue is on a lovely site and if the hot tub was working, we would have had a perfect weekend. If the customer service was half decent, this could have been avoided. Genuinely the worst customer service I have ever received in my life and will definitely not be using again.

This is horrendously incorrect and I am not warranting this with a detailed response.
You were upgraded. We expect all our guests so this assumption that you weren’t expected is entirely incorrect.
The hot tub is the new legally required Hot Tun by HSC without the panel to ensure far safer bathing. The error on the hot tub that was unfortunate was rectified by our engineer.
You were not given a refund by booking.com because you were not due one but because I am very fair I gave you a partial refund and yet you still deliver my luxury 5 star house a 1 star review.

I do hope future guests read around this incredibly long review about a hot tub error that was resolved by the Saturday lunchtime when you arrived Friday afternoon.

A lovely lodge, definitely returning!

A lovely lodge situated between padstow and Newquay. It has all the facilities you could ask for. The beds were so comfy. Showers stayed hot and never had low pressure. After a long day of exploring, this lodge was a treat to come back to relax in. Chill out with a few games of pool and maybe go for a relaxing soak in the hot tub. Wished we stayed a few extra nights. Definitely coming back again. Thank you for the amazing stay!

Relaxing. The lodge is big and comfortable - a real home away from home. We had some initial issues with WiFi which the team fixed quickly with great communication! The facilities are also excellent - good shop and services on site. The bar and restaurant are very good - and exceeded expectations over and again!

Just returned from a wonderful stay in…

Just returned from a wonderful stay in Sandpipers with our kids - we all loved exploring North Cornwall and coming back for fun family time in the sauna and hot tub on our terrace ! Sandpipers was so well equipped, beds so comfy and 2 en-suite bathrooms was a real treat for us. The log burner was nice in the evening, we just took those light a logs from Amazon which worked well. We booked the kids onto the flow rider which they loved and they swam in the indoor pool every day. Only ate once in the lookout restaurant on site which was great to not have to cook and easy as it’s in walking distance and they used the play ground by it.
Amy was great and we will definitely come back.

Great at ignoring customers

Nice accommodation that is a little tired. Showers, windows etc all on last legs. Fridge was tiny, old and terrible although the listing talks about American style fridge freezers. Good resort with good facilities. Where they fell down most was customer service. They send plenty of emails about the amazing service and support available but if you actually reply and ask them anything you don’t get a reply. We paid for 7 days hot tub hire but only got to use it for 4 days due to excessive heating up time and then it being completely removed a day early with absolutely no notice of this being given. Sent a series of polite emails asking for them to give a partial refund to reflect the time we actually had the hot tub for, or even to simply acknowledge my messages but never got a reply. So in summary, recommend Retalllack Resort, but maybe book with one of the many other agents offering accommodation here, you might have a better chance of getting a reply to your emails. Wish I’d read the other trust pilot reviews first!

So amazing - could so easily be 10/10 but just falls short

We stayed at Fistral house - amazing place, huge it really is, bedrooms are big, and the living area - there are 2 x living rooms, one upstairs that we used for movies and the one downstairs a little smaller, but still a good size. The location next to the river is lovely to feed the ducks and the hot tub was used daily. Attention to detail on cleaning especially in the times that we live in, could be better. There was some mould in the patio doors, and there was no vacuum cleaner, which when staying for a week is challenging with children (we took our own). Communication seems to be a theme running through these reviews and we were no exception. What's App messages read but not responded to. Same with the booking app and also e mail. I so wanted to rate this excellent, because it really is a fabulous place, I just hope that the owners act on the feedback, it is a simple/minor change that would elevate this place to beyond the exceptional stay that it is. Don't let me put you off, it is wonderful, as is the park that it is in, with great facilities. We would go back in a heartbeat, and would just have to hope that we didn't need any help at any time.

The customer service is non existent

The customer service has been utterly disgraceful. I booked my holiday over a year ago, enticed by the promise of a concierge service. Yet, after three months of relentless emails, social media messages, and phone calls, I have yet to receive any response to my inquiries. With the holiday just weeks away, it seems cancellation is my only option, as I refuse to throw away more money. I'm already down £500!

Disappointed

When we arrived at the kingfisher lodge 104. The cleaners were still cleaning, so we were late getting in
The cleaners missed the laundry room. Stuff belonging to the previous guests still there.
This was rectified when I saw the cleaners outside and asked them to sort it.

I am spider phobic .so I checked behind the headboard. Its clear it hadn't been cleaned for a while. Even a pair of swimming goggles behind there

Tv downstairs didn't work for the entire holiday. It was reported twice. Two different guys came out to try to fix it. Both couldn't. Both said it needs replacing.
Previous guests have confirmed it wasn't working either.
It's possible to chat with other people who have left reviews on certain review sites. What I'm saying about the TV is true

Downstairs shower runs cold and won't get sufficiently hot. It's warm . Not hot.

Both of the extractor fans in the upstairs bathrooms don't work

The sofas are very uncomfortable and dirty

Not enough pots and pans to cook for 8 people

The dishwasher stinks
Decking needs cleaning .Green algae everywhere

No where near 5 star. I'd say 2 at best

Good bits
Quiet and peaceful.
Good amount of parking for 3 cars
Lovely outlook over water

Very disappointed. Run down.
We won't be back
