Rudimental Drummers Avis 

This pad lives up to its reputation. It has a great feel and is beautifly finished. I started out in the 1960's playing in pipe band and in dance bands, so i have used a variety of pads in my time. So far, this one gets my vote. On a personal note, now at age 84, I suffer from an illness called "essential tremor" especially in my left hand. I hope working on some old paradiddle exercises will help and that my great-grandson might might catch the bug...That is the drumming bug!

The buying experience from the US was tremendous. Rene and team were outstanding in their communication and everything was delivered in the time frame as expected. The RD pad is beautiful and a great addition to my practice pad fleet! It remains always best up and ready to go!

I ordered my custom Chop Pad in October last year. Daan and Rene both communicated with me quite promptly and accommodated some adjustments to my order while it was in process. Overall, they were just really outstanding people to work with on what is really a beautifully crafted instrument.

Now, I may have impulse bought my Chop Pad in the dead of night after getting back into practicing on an Evans Real Feel for the first time in some years. One thing that really sold me on Rudimental Drummer's was Daan's comparison video in which he fairly demonstrates the pros and cons of the Real Feel versus his Chop Pad. His product is quite a lot more expensive than the Real Feel and, in applications requiring the lowest volume possible, the Real Feel just might be the better option for many. However, I left watching that video understanding that I was investing in something beautiful to be treasured as opposed to the Real Feel which we all know is meant to become tattered and ragged. A tattered Real Feel is a beautiful sight.

Regarding my pad itself, I really enjoyed creating a custom piece within the slick tool offered on Rudimental Drummer's website. I chose a black head and gold rim on a stained blue base. My pad was a bit louder than I'd anticipated it to be and I've come to credit that with my selection of a coated head. I feel an uncoated head may have been quieter but ultimately, the Evans Sound Off pad that Rudimental Drummer's will sell you with your order (or that you pull out of your closet) creates the most quiet practice experience in relation to the responsiveness of the head I've ever experienced.

My purchase of a Chop Pad from Rudimental Drummers really helped energize my pursuit of music after having taken a break. If you are looking to invest in a work of art and support two individuals who seek to build a community around their brand then you should absolutely purchase a pad from them. If you're not able to purchase a pad from them at this time, I'm sure Daan and Rene would happily recommend the Real Feel and invite you to join their community all the same. It was a pleasure to work with Rudimental Drummers as well as to write this review.

Ordered a 14 inch practice pad. The company kept in touch all the way through placing the order, its manufacture and delivery.
The drum pad arrived in great condition and needed only to have the drum head tightened a bit.
