Runnings Stores Avis 16

Early Oct. 2025.My Landlord ordered 80 Lbs. of Bird Food/seed. I was to pick it up for her. upon arriving I could find no Will-Call. A check out employee summoned someone from the back of the store. He showed up again 20 min. later. I requested he load it into my vehicle, when we got to the vehicle he wanted a signature. I had no pen and tersely asked my wife if she had one. She did not. The individual pushed the cart all the way back to the store re-appeared 10 min. later with a pen. I signed, we left. When I got home, my Land Lord informed me the POLICE had called and wanted to do a welfare check on my wife because a Runnings employee had logged a complaint. WTF? I contacted management at Runnings Corporate but never received a follow up. My Land Lord said she will no longer order from Runnings.

The store manager made me go through the interview process again and another background check
After the interview, he was passive-aggressive in calling me a liar and a bullshiter
After checking back with him two weeks later if he was going to hire me, he said he was still thinking about it, and called me a turd
fast-forward to this week
I was looking for hydraulic fluid for my wood splitter, and an associate came to offer assistance, he did and was ok. Then the manager stopped by with his smarmy smile and said to the associate, "I'm sorry" which I saw by the "knowing" look they did to each other, that the associate knew who I was, and there was background information shared by the store manager, and then he slapped my shoulder and treated me like I was his buddy.
This is not a person you should have as a manager.
From what I know, this store has had at least five personnel turnovers since 2021. He may make you money, but he is a horrible person.

While finalizing a purchase here and filling out some information on a laptop. One of the lovely employees here slapped my hand away. When i reported it to the manager he did not care and told me not to come in the store again. Excellent job Runnings! I can see why this place is so empty all the time. Go to Dunham's or Walmart this place does not treat customers with respect.

Every time I go into the Pekin store. Angie at the gun counter is extremely rude and disrespectful. I have got to the point I am not buying from them anymore. I will spend my money somewhere else.

Went into store to get informationon a Summit tractor and waited 17 minites before someone who was supposed to know about the tractors came up.
Asked for the price and other info and availability and they could npt answer my questions at all. Left my phone & email and they never emailed or called me about anything.
Cant buy when employees dont care and store doesnt care either...no wonder the Summit brand is not seen around central new york

Gibson city Illinois manager needs customer relations briefing... I paid 5 bucks per water bottle deposit on top of price of water. I brought them all back requesting my deposit be returned. He said the company has changed hands since then and that he has no way to return my deposit. I guess they just keep your money

The Rochester, Indiana store has managers who enable sexual harassment, sexism, racism, dangerous behavior, and mistreatment of fellow employees, while firing those who don't agree with this, and firing them under false pretenses.
Nepotism is what this particular store thrives on, with relatives and close friends of management getting preferable treatment.
They have no one to blame but themselves for the fact that their reviews are so low.

no delivery of large items such as a lawn tractor.won't go there any more.useless

Purchased a lawnmower at 49th & Western location. They went above & beyond by letting us use their tools to take off our pickup topper so we could take mower home.

I purchased a New Mossberg 500 Turkey gun that once I had it home found it had a used aftermarket choke in it. Contacted the store and was told that's how they come from the factory. Really?

I had called on a Wednesday to see if I could go and purchase cattle panel (100) of them the following day . I explained that I would not have a trailer until that Saturday and I wanted to take advantage of the 10% off sale that was happening that Wednesday/ Thursday . I was told no problem they would be able to work something out so I could do a pick up on Saturday but take full advantage of the sale . The panels also just went on sale . On my way over (the drive is 40 miles one way ) I decided that I would get 200 panels also a round pen . Big purchase!!! Also knowing that all item probably wouldn’t be in stock . Upon my arrival I was told they weren’t a buy and hold store and that they couldn’t hold the panels for two days ??? Seriously I thought ! As I said I wanted to purchase more panels also the round pen. I ended up leaving and looked into a locally owned farm store that I didn’t even know existed . Beaver creek farm supply store family owned and had everything I was looking for .They also gave a percentage off on top of being a little cheaper in price . Runnings I will never use your store again and I will spread the word everywhere I can !!! Sincerely Janis , Runnings you lost a huge sale in my book !! The store was in Malone , Ny

I went to the Runnings store in Pekin, Illinois today, it's the grand opening. I went through the line and I forgot to use my 10$ coupon. So I went over to customer service to refund an item and use my coupon. The cashier had to call the manager up and he said normally I would just tell you to bad and was very rude. I will not be going back in that store.

Not impressed at all with this company. I've been stop and in once in a while since the beginning and it's not good.

I am Very unhappy with this company. After calling the Rochester Indiana store to confirm that they had a certain product (SKU70091214) I was told that yes, they had 7 in stock. After explaining that the Rochester store was an hour drive each way I asked if they could visually confirm. The girl would not go physically check to see if the product was in. I was told that it said in stock, so it was there. I drove the hour each way, only to find they they did NOT have the product in stock! So, I wasted 2 hours and came home empty handed. I called the corporate number on Feb. 27 and told them of my issue. The lady said they should have VISUALLY verified that the product was in stock, and that she would call that store and get back with me. And THAT was the last I heard from her. They have lazy employees that could care less about the customer. From the girl in the store, to the lady at corporate! I have a local store. But I will never spend another dime with these people. We have Ruralking and TSC in our town. They will get my money from this point on. RUNNINGS could care less about their customers.

A screw hole on my snow blower was stripped. In September I took it in to get the hole enlarged, re-thread the screw hole and to insert a larger screw. They started it using the electric starter when I picked it up. The blower worked just fine. When I used the electric starter on the blower for the 1st time this winter both starter screws fell out because they re-used the old screws with some loctite instead of fixing the stripped hole. They arranged to bring it back to fix the stripped screw hole but now say the fly wheel is shot and there are no parts to be found. Well, the fly wheel wasn't shot when I picked it up the 1st go around but they claimed it was. I'm out over $140 for parts and labor and my electric starter doesn't work. How is that for service?
