Deceit, Dishonesty, Disgrace
The single most deceitful, disgraceful, dishonest, and ignoble interaction I've had in 23 years of organizing a fishing charter in Los Cabos. I am indeed a customer with the receipt to prove it. An encounter so profoundly despicable it's cast a dark shadow over my faith in human kind. I received a full refund! It was immediate. Yet I would rather have been robbed as now this money feels tainted by the filthly greed of the owner and operator JAIME. He's a coward and liar. Folks, do you know that unmistakable tremble in a man's voice as he is caught red handed? Well, Jaime sang the liar's tremble like Pavorati! I certainly was robbed of hours upon hours of painstaking research and communication as the trip we were supposed to depart on was a Christmas gift for my father in law. Who took off work on a weekday and who was SO VERY excited about the trip. I have NOTHING for him now except to break the news.
The details are complicated but the story is simple, Jaime got a better offer, got greedy and gave my reservation to the highest bidder. A lesson in greed 101. I suspect readers may not be interested in the specifics but I sure will write them so potential customers and locals may get to know his character. I'll do my very best to describe what happened concisely and truthfully. After which, ask yourself, even if Jaime and his crew happened to be the best fishermen in Cabo, would you want to do business with a person so devoid of character and conscience?
Jaime deliberately cancelled my trip, knowing it was the single most important event of my holiday. I cannot know the exact reason he cancelled, I do KNOW as a matter of fact that he lied. His first lie was on the fishbooker app (where I will be sending a detailed report including screenshots of our communications) he cited "extenuating circumstances" as the reason for canceling my trip. The second lie is that he "double booked."
Jaime, when I do move here in August of 2024, I'll be sure to send you photos of the receipts from my charters so that you can look at the nickels and dimes you traded for tens of thousands. If you're any good which you're reviews seem to indicate that your employees catch fish for clients, know this, your actions will ultimately cause financial harm to your employees. For I will publish on every forum that exists for reviews the way I was treated. I am so sick with disappointment, I'm going to lock the doors, shut the shades and start sharing far and wide what you did. Rally your troops because I won't cease until I see the blood red letters "permanently closed" on your Google page. Do I have it all wrong!? Would you be so kind as to send me the double booking receipts?
Ladies and gentlemen, do you know that Jaime so graciously offered to make up for this "accident?" He generously offered for the same price another panga, smaller than the boat I paid for, that they use for bookings when there's an "overflow." Do you know when he cancelled my trip he never offered the courtesy of a call? Not an email or a text message? When a colleague of mine fluent in Spanish called, he had readied a series of bumbling excuses. Maybe Jaime told the truth, he double booked, but he knew he could offload the gringo to his overflow quasi partners.
I feel like packing up and going home but I have work to do. I have Trip Advisor, Yelp, Fish booker, Reddit and other avenues to share my experience. I told you Jaime what this trip meant to me, I wrote you extensively about how important it was and you just cancelled it? Wow man! Wow!
May you get what you give all your days!
