SCAM

SCAM! Took my money, no delivery of product, no communication to to emails and calls.

They have disabled other review sites from taking negative reviews and also disconnected their phone number.

AVOID at ALL COSTS!!! Luckily my bank was able to reverse the payment quickly.

I’m a seller from the US and I sent…

I’m a seller from the US and I sent bottles to scotch galore to sell… the first couple transactions went well. Then after I had sent a bunch of bottles this company basically stole them from me. Approx £8k worth of bottles they didn’t pay me for. Because I’m in the states I really don’t have any recourse.. Stephen was rude and threatening. He doesn’t care about his customers.I can’t believe this company is still in business..

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY

I had a bottle of whisky listed for sale on the Scotch Galore website at a price I'd agreed, £160 Including their Fee (I wanted a quick sale) it with them since June 2022 (Whyte & Mackay 21 Year old is on sale for up to £300 on other sites)

They emailed me in August 2023 to say they were entering the auction world & to reply if I'd like to have my item included, which I did. There was no auction date given & nothing was mentioned about how to set a reserve price, etc. It was a very generic, informational email.

A few months later, I noticed my bottle was gone from their site.
I then emailed to ask if they had sold my bottle & I had no response.
Up until this point, I had no complaints with Stephen or his company.

I tried phoning & left several messages, again no reply or contact. After months & only with the threat of contacting the police to report a theft, did the owner email me. After many weeks of emails asking to be told the price, I was told they sold it for £50 & that I had to pay shipping & insurance & that I would only receive £35, once I had removed my online reviews.

I am not the only one this has happened to, judging by the reviews left by many other disgruntled customers. Their information is also available on Companies House.

I had had enough of back & forth with this firm, that I reported all of this to the Citizen Advice Bureau, who in turn logged this with Trading Standards.
I removed my online reviews & finally received a whopping £38.

There are plenty more trustworthy whisky auction sites out there.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AT ANY COST.

Resolution suggestion for this bad business

For those like me who have experienced such bad business dealings from Stephen/Scotch Galore, please know you can contact Civil Claims Court at 0300 123 7050. I’ve been working with them to get my issue (already reviewed, below) resolved. They’ve been so helpful!! Call when they open at 8:30 or be prepared for a long hold time. The process is involved but they walk you through it and are so helpful! Mine is in works still but I expect a positive outcome. **And yes, they have moved addresses but you can find the new one on Companies House.

Ripped off

Never sent bottle, blames UK post for breaking it, I paid extra for insurance and won't honour it. Been waiting for almost 1 year and he has no proof he ever sent the bottle. Stephen is a liar and cheat who will take your money but send nothing

Scotch Galore…

Alright initially but asked to remove whiskies as seemingly looking for too much for them . You could keep them on site but would have to drop price or put up for auction but the reason I used was you could set your own price. Curious if anybody else asked to collect and remove whiskies they initially had on site.

I wouldn’t call them trustworthy

I wouldn’t call them trustworthy, if you are selling with them, keep on top as your bottles might disappear or get damaged, instead of apologies you might get Stephen arrogant attitude. Regrettably one of the worst customer service ever received.

I am very disappointed

I am very disappointed
5 out of the 6 bottled of Whisky that were Perchance were acceptable, but one was not.
DAMAGE TO THE WOODEN CASE, LOOKED TO ME THE DAMAGE IN TRANSIT.

So tired to make a claim, which was meer with very disappointing response.
With Scotch Galore making presumption, instead of getting the true facts.

Scotch Galore are not the only one to fall in this case, UPS also at fault as the damage happened in transit.

Also I received an email from UPS saying it had arrived, but had not, 4 extra day before it came and knowone was in to sign for the parcel, so was just left on my porch. At a cost of nearly £2000 it should be signed for or at least delivered to a person.

Back to Scotch Galore, when in contact with them via email, said I was not covered to make a claim due to the T&Cs
THEN ADDED" on a personal note i think i can be fixed with a little glue"
This did not fill me with confidence of the aesthetically of any other potential perchance, if they are happy to botch stuff together with a bit of Glue.

well this will have to go down as a poor choice of company by me to perchance collectable whisky from.

WILL NOT USE AGAIN.
