​I strongly recommend staying away from ServiceMaster and taking your business to Servpro instead. My experience with ServiceMaster was unprofessional and a complete waste of time and money.
I paid the $150 fee just to have someone come out and provide a quote.
After the visit, I was told early next week I would receive the quote. I emailed them twice looking for the quote. I received no response for over a week.
​When I finally called to follow up, I was told they were "very busy" and they would "see about getting to it." Another week passed with nothing. This lack of effort sent me searching for another company.
It wasn't until I sent an email formally requesting a refund of my $150 that they finally bothered to send the quote. They refused to refund my money, despite the unacceptable delay and lack of communication.
​To make matters worse, their quote was nearly double the price of the one I received from Servpro.
​Servpro, by comparison, was professional, helpful, and stayed on top of everything from the start. Save yourself the headache and the $150—go with Servpro.

Service Master Not Worth It

Service Master advertised air duct cleaning for $99 but charged $564.00.
Definitely not worth it!
My neighbor only pays $150 for two cleanings per year from Bay Heating and Cooling. I will definitely be calling them next time.

If I could give a -1 Star rating I would. This incident occurred a few years ago, but I only just discovered trust pilot, and I’m going to give all of the reviews that I feel deserve to be on trust pilot.

I Live in a rather large and quiet community where the street signs for speed limit from one end to the other clearly read 25 mph. It was a beautiful sunny day on July 9 when a Servicemaster restore van came speeding through our neighborhood.
YES, our dog shouldn’t have been near the road. I still pay for my actions to this day. My heart still aches.

My dog had broke loose from his lead, and was crossing back over from the neighbors, everyone saw the Van coming and the van saw us. The van ran over my puppy, and then slow down to a stop, looked back and saw what they had done, and then they floored it. That day I had to take my puppy to find out he was paralyzed from the waist down, and I had to put him down. Add insult to injury. It cost me $400 to do so. I paid in more ways than one for that day, but had Servicemaster stopped at all and offered any remorse, I wouldn’t be leaving this review. On top of that I reported them they denied the claim unless I had a picture for proof. The whole neighborhood witnessed it. My Direct neighbor is an elderly couple, and they are scarred to this day as well. They had video footage of it, and I could not bare look at it nor could they. Service Master Restore of Haywood County in NC. Shame on you. Shame on me.
This review is about how little respect and honor and integrity your company has and in turn deserves.

Don’t hire them.

They cut out a hole for the dryer vent…

They cut out a hole for the dryer vent in the wrong place. They didn’t put insulation up in the ceiling and covered it with sheet rock so we couldn’t see (except their guy messed up and left a gap big enough to slip a camera through to get pictures of the non insulated ceiling). They threw trash in our yard and kept our garage blocked off for over a month. They told my wife that they would have our water and HVAC ready in a week, to go back in. After a month, I bought some linoleum and finished that part myself so that we could get the water heater and indoor unit to the heat pump back in. They also said they would cover the ducts to keep insulation, drywall, screws etc., from falling in and they didn’t do that. They also said they would clean up underneath the house where they tore apart the floor from above. They didn’t do that, but only put more plastic down to cover it up. They took our cover off of the breaker panel before their four week haitus (to go work on another job, leaving ours in really bad shape with my wife expecting), until we finally fired them. And we now have hardware missing off of our receptacles and the washer drain is leaking so we will now have to tear out one of the few places they got halfway complete just to fix it and then do that part of the job all over again . This company is horrible! Btw, they also had another non- insurance job on the other end of the house that they said they would do certain things (tearing out walls) that they didn’t do but charged for. They told my wife they would do it, but didn’t write it in the contract so we paid them for doing a lot less than they actually did. After four weeks of them not showing up for work and my wife nine days (or less) from giving birth, now we have to navigate finding a new company, getting the estimates, waiting for insurance approval and getting this work done, before the baby arrives. I believe it will be impossible. This company should not be allowed to continue to do business when they don’t put insulation in a ceiling. That’s flat out fraud. And why would they steal the hardware from the receptacles?

Tore my sons room to hell

Tore my sons room to hell, (not damaged stuff now damaged, expensive stuff) left trim with nails pointed up all over my 12 year old sons floor under stuff they threw on top of. I had the pleasure of stepping on one of those nails. They left fans and dehumidifiers here to dry stuff out. We were not home today, but I guess they just let themselves into our house anyway to get their equipment. No call or heads up or anything. This is breaking and entering. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Water heater and flooring installation

Company said water heater and flooring would be installed Thursday. At 11am I had to call them to find out flooring person was not coming out, "sick". They had already removed my old water heater. After several calls and alot of screaming they installed my new water heater, then promised next day 8am flooring person would be out. They would disconnect water heater and plumber would stay on site to reconnect again. Poor customer service, promises not kept, lack of honest communication. I would never recommend this company because they do not do what they say they will. Poor communication between themselves was also evident. Stay away from Servicemaster.

Expensive and innefective

Unfortunately, my experience with ServiceMaster Restore in NH was disappointing. The results were ineffective, and their treatment of my kitchen cabinets was careless, resulting in damage. Despite their promises and assurances, the mitigation measures employed by the company proved to be ineffective in resolving the problem. The moisture and water accumulation persisted even after their intervention, leaving me frustrated and concerned about the long-term implications for my property. To make matters worse, their handling of my kitchen cabinets was careless. The technicians seemed to disregard the importance of delicate handling and caused damage to the cabinets during the installation of their equipment.
I am disappointed by the lack of professionalism and attention to detail demonstrated by ServiceMaster. I had expected a reputable and reliable service, but unfortunately, they failed to meet these expectations. I urge the company to consider the impact their actions have on their customers' satisfaction and the reputation of their business. In light of my experience, I regretfully cannot recommend ServiceMaster to others in need of water mitigation services. I hope that by sharing my feedback, improvements can be made to avoid similar issues in the future and ensure a more satisfactory experience for future customers

BEWARE: WOMEN, CHILDREN...
My house burned at 3:30 AM May, 2021.. miraculously my children, grandchildren, and I were able to escape. In complete emotional and physical exhaustion, I randomly called Service Masters of Wilmington the same morning..
They performed little to no professional help, I found one of the employees overdosed on my porch swing, and the other workers standing around SMOKING CIGARETTES! At that time I discontinued this service, leaving me with exorbitant expenses (75 K)"owed" them for >$25,000.00 of actual work. This doesn't include the fact that they totally splintered and removed my entire beautiful hardwood floors and Italian terracotta tiled kitchen floor. Mr. Bond's exorbitant and fraud-like charges were impossible to pay under the tragic financial and emotional distress placed on me by Service Masters. I have been unable to complete my home..thereby being sporadically homeless for1.5 years. These two components are what James Bond's business is based on. Especially for single mothers like myself.
They placed a lien on my house, which has prevented me to use this for any loan to pay them $75,000.00 for nothing. Also charging me interest and storage fees per 1.5 years and continuing..
They used the items of my dead Son, Mother and Father, all family photos, books, my artwork and paint supplies as leverage.
Attorney Wes Jones pursues for them this kind of law suit on innocent women and children , leaving them homeless and financially unable to proceed with life.There is no way to legally fight these type of monstrous "business?" people.
Call ServPro of NHC..they are honest and reputable.
PS.. I have never once been allowed to meet or speak with Mr. Bond, at my request to his "attorney".
UNBELIEVABLE..
I ended up having to pay James Bond upward of $100,000.00 including >1 year storage, with SM holding my things hostage, his attorney fees, and the incompletion of my house.. no funds to complete it.
I continue to live in my car, as motels and AirBB have also drained me financially, emotionally, and physically.
SHAME ON JAMES BOND and his attorney.

It is filthy in my office

It is filthy in my office. They insisted on a 30-day notice, but did not even bother to empty the garbage. No soap in the soap dispensers. Literal garbage and splatter all over! Horrible customer service.

Service Master is a joke they rip you…

Service Master is a joke they rip you off especially if you work for them they don't give you hours and they rip you off on your pay check I put my two weeks in work every day and Bernie in the Brownsville area is a very nice person but you don't mess with a person pay check, I repeat do not work for him.

Fraud!!!!

I wouldn’t even give them one star. What service master in Moose Jaw is doing is fraud. Beyond poor workmanship, they didn’t do half the work they were supposed to but claimed they did. I don’t even have baseboards or light fixtures. They even offered to pay me off for work that wasn’t complete.

Incompleted work and false/misleading review site

First off, their "official" review site is ConsumerAffairs.com which sounds official, but is not a government agency nor is it regulated by any. (Many states and even counties DO have a consumer protection bureau, usually called -- ready? -- Consumer Affairs. So even their public-facing "review" site is a sham. Ask yourself why there are no Google reviews. Now to specifics. There are several, but the bottom line is this one: They moved all the furniture out of the way to dry out a flood. Everything was crammed into one back room and a hallway. After 3-4 days of fans, they came to get the fans but then told me I was on my own to move all the furniture back. Besides being a d*ck move, it was contrary to what was promised up front. When I complained to the local HQ, I was told the teams were "too busy" to move the furniture back. Use ANYONE else.

If I could give them negative stars I…

If I could give them negative stars I would. After destroying my home, and making a complete mess (not to mention they took VERY expensive rugs to be cleaned) they left baseboards with nails. Cute holes EVERYWHERE. The didn’t move ANY furniture and had over 20 fans running at one time. I called and spoke w Mike who is extremely unprofessional, and thought it was hilarious when we said that they left our home in complete disarray. This incident happened in April, and my insurance has paid them yet they claim they have not been paid. He also tried to say that we flooded our own home with a water hose! Our insurance had a fraud adjuster contact us due to this LIE! He said “I didn’t say that to the insurance company.” But when we spoke w the fraud adjuster she told us he said he was there and saw this happen (he’s NEVER been to my home) thank god for cameras bc she closed the fraud case in less than 72hrs after seeing the footage and seeing there was only ONE employee at our home on the day he claims to have witnessed this. I called him bc as of today they still refuse to return my Persian rugs and when you call they give u the run around, and then laugh @ u, and hang up. I called back to let them know I was going to report them to the BBB and here, and her response was “that’s fine” and hung up on me. Do not hire this company completely unprofessional, rude, and will leave your home a complete mess. Our home still smelled of mildew and we had to have another company come out and they were shocked that they left our home in that condition, and didn’t move any furniture to dry the walls and baseboards. Now we have to have an air quality expert and another expert to come out and access our home. I’ve been dealing w this nightmare of a company since April 2022 and now it’s almost Aug with no resolutions (except being hung up on or laughed at) I have all the calls recorded and each call is a joke to them. THIS COMPANY IS GARBAGE!! BEWARE

Terrible company to work with

Terrible company to work with. They took months to schedule restoration work and I ended up having to go elsewhere. I used them for water mitigation and demolition at the advice of my insurance company. They couldn't resolve issues with my insurance company and charged for water mitigation that 4 other restoration companies said was unnecessary when I had to get quotes for restoration work. They charged a fortune for fans that other companies said was unnecessary. The cost of the fans was the only break I asked for in regards to their invoice. Yet they are steadfast in those charges. If you want upfront people to work with and reliability in getting things done, go elsewhere.

DON'T USE THEM!

HORRIBLE SERVICE! Bad communication, they lie and push you into purchasing materials that they want instead of what you want. They damaged my home while attempting to repair it. They installed flooring, but cut it all short so you can't keep it down with trim pieces. When bringing this up, I was told 'it's normal'.. no it's not normal to have your brand new flooring coming up because you did it wrong! They are dirty and will take your money. AVOID!!!

Poor communication, dragging their feet

We had water damage from the heavy snow this past winter, the insurance company connected us with Service Master. The lack of communication is worst than any company we have never dealt with. The trade people they brought in left their garbage behind and more damage than what they fixed, we need to have our kitchen sink, counter top and stove replaced after. It’s almost 4 months now, we are still waiting for them to come up with a date, our whole kitchen is still boxed up.
