Recent Order Experience

a) A 90 pound order was placed on Friday 19th February. The delivery date was not until 23rd Feb although the website mentions next day delivery for orders of this size.
b) On Monday, 22nd Feb, I was advised that one item wasn't available and money would be refunded. Not great experience to hear this, 3 days after the order
c) The delivery partner kept on revising delivery times and tracking wasn't available. The first window was 1118 hrs to 1318 hrs and I left work to collect the order. However, the time keeps on revising and the order is now scheduled for 0448PM.

Overall, Shaalis has great selection and quality of product but the uncertainties are not a great experience. I would prefer to drive to one of the Indian stores nearby and collect from there.

We do apologise for the kind of experience you had with us. As per our delivery policy any order placed after 12pm on Thursdays will be dispatched only on the following Monday because the delivery companies will not be operating on Saturdays and Sundays. To your post code the delivery is usually next working day so as to keep the vegetables fresh you order was shipped on 23rdl. We apologise again for the delivery time that was miscommunicated by the delivery company. Usually all the deliveries will be made between 9am and 5pm by the delivery company depending upon their availability.
If some of the items are not available or if the quality of a certain products is not good then we will notify our customers and only if the customer is not satisfied with the replacement product we will raise the refund for the product alone. In your case the quality of the fruit was not good, that was the reason the refund has been raised.
We hope to serve you in the near future and all of your experience with us will be turned into Complete satisfaction.

Fresh fish and vegetables

I have been looking for fresh fish online as I could not travel to buy the specific Indian fishes we eat. I m glad to find king fish.’, shark, prawns and anchovies at a reasonable rate. The vegetables ordered were also fresh. The delivery was quick and neatly packed.

The vegetables were very fresh and good quality. Delivery experience was excellent. The two things that go against Shaalis are the price - everything is overpriced, and a lot of fruits and veg are out if stock. What I could have bought for 25-30, I paid 41.00 at Shaalis for.

Discrepancy in quantity of product

I am first time customer for this site .I have ordered vegetables and chicken .The quantity mentioned on site was 1 kg but when it arrived it’s was only 600 grams When I asked for refund I have not got any answer back .Requesting to get my refund back for the item quantity which was missing

We are extremely sorry for the experience. Usually the weight of fresh chicken/meat or fish is the live weight of the product that is before cutting and cleaning. In your case we usually weigh the chicken as whole and during the cleaning process the skin and parts of the leg, wings and neck will be cleaned out. This was the reason for the difference in weight. If there was any request form a customer not to cut and clean the fresh meat/chicken or fish the weight will be around 900gms to 1kgs and we will be sending as the whole. In your order we can see that you ordered for baby chicken and that will be gross weight of approx 800g and after clean and cut comes still less quantity as net weight.

Overcharged

I received almost only priced marked items which sold more expensive than the price marked price. Even if they have mentioned that on their website that they will increase the amount of price marked items it is not fair to double the price. I felt overcharged.

Item missing and no refund

An item missing from my order. They didn’t tell me until I asked. I asked for refund for that item. They asked for my bank detail for the refund. I gave them. But one week past they still haven’t refund me and ignore my messages and email.

Really bad experience

The reason for the delay in the delivery is because of Brexit conversion the parcel that we sent out to you had been held up by the customs services and due to the covid situation the parcel has not yet cleared and we also didn't get any reply from the customs services and in the mean time there was no information provided to us about the customs check on parcels set over to Northern Ireland. Because of such delay we couldn't let you wait so we have raised the refund for your order. The most sad thing apart being not able to find the whereabout of the parcel is that we were not able to provide you the goods and supplies that you needed in the pandemic situation. We do apologize for the inconvenience.
