Never got my dress

Places an order 24th April.
Got a confirmation email that the order is made.
Today is the 19th may. Still don’t have the dress. Because I never got the email that the parcel was posted.
Costumer service ignores my emails and send me “sorry the parcel is lost”….
Really bad costumer service, slow and doesn’t answer my questions. I annulled the order and never gonna order from here again.

Initially hesitant, but extremely pleased.

I was initially hesitant to buy from Shimmi because of the reviews on Trustpilot, but I can say that their customer service is brilliant.

The dress arrived, it was high quality and gorgeous, but unfortunately, did not sit right with my frame. I had to return the dress, and the return and refund was processed efficiently with no issues whatsoever. I did ask their customer service assistant how long it would take, and they were extremely polite and the return itself was processed much quicker than the time I was given.

I look forward to their new releases, and I would definitely recommend Shimmi to anyone looking for stunning, modest and elegant occasion wear.

I wish i could rate them less than one…

I wish i could rate them less than one star. I ordered a dress on May 29th and it was shipped on the 30th supposedly. DHL never received the shipment. I emailed them 4-5 times and DM-ed them on both instagram and tiktok with no response. The wedding i was attending was 4 days away (June 15) and they decided to cancel my order because it wasn’t in stock anymore. The customer service is terrible. It was my first and last time trying this place. I hope this helps someone because it was absolutely frustrating dealing with them.

Sent me a damaged dress and then accused me of being fraudulent when I raised a dispute with my bank threatening to call the police!!!!!

I received a dress that was damaged, but a small amount. For £255 I didn't appreciate the fact that the dress was damaged, so contacted them the day I received this for a replacement but due to slow response this couldn't be arranged in time for my event. Decided to accept the dress and wore it for my event, but the damage increased. The stitching on the beading was loose/not closed up somewhere so lost a significant amount of beads on the day. As any normal person I was unhappy with this so got in touch with the company and was honest that I had worn it but was entitled to a replacement/refund/partial refund. After lack of response (again don't know why this company is so poor with after sales!) I decided to raise a DISPUTE with my bank where I informed them that I received a defective good, however had worn it. My bank assured me that I was within my rights to raise a dispute. I then recieved an email from Somia at Shimmi Dresses stating the below. Please bare in mind that I notified Shimmi Dresses that I was raising a dispute.

'Hi Maryam

We have been notified you have opened a chargeback despite receiving your dresses. Please could you explain reasons for this chargeback so we could resolve this. You have the right to return these dresses so we could process your refund.

If we do not hear back, we will be disputing this showing evidence of fraud and theft and will raise this with the police. We will also be removing you as a customer due to the unfair approach you have taken to receive your money back.

Can't believe this is how they talk to customers and there is a long way for them to go in professionalism and business standards. Unfortunately they have crossed the wrong consumer.

Do not buy!!

Do not buy!!! I bought I £250 dress which was of very poor quality. The beads and fur had fallen off in the package before I even got to wear the dress. And after all that, they refused a refund. Save your money

High Quality

I have three dresses from Shimmi and all of them are absolutely stunning, fit well and received so many compliments. They are extremely high quality, the most recent one I bought I was surprised at how heavy it felt because of all the beautiful beading. Dispatch times have always been really quick too, my favourite shop when buying dresses for events! Thank you😊

Buyer beware !!!

Buyer beware !!!! I have been waiting for a refund for an order that I never received for over a month now. Lost in the mail and was told by Royal Mail the company should make a claim. Now the company say it is the buyers responsibility if the package is not delivered. The worst customer service received.

I have raised a complaint with citizens advice and will be taking this to the ombudsman next.

Be careful with this company

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service - first time ordering a dress for a wedding, wanted to exchange for a smaller size and told *no* because it was a sale item. Sizing chart not accurate despite following it. I was excited to finally find modest dress options for us Muslim girls, but this company cares more about getting rid of their sale items than satisfied customers. Definitely never shopping here again, nearly £200 down the drain. Can’t even alter due to the material. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Do not buy anything from this website

Do not buy anything from this website. They are scammers. Purchased a dress for £220. The dress is so cheaply made, sequins are plastic and fall off, the material is not quality AT ALL! Requested the address for return as dissatisfied with the item and they stating they can’t refund, as sale item, and part of their return policy. Yet I’m well within my right to return and have a full refund for the awful item and and service received. They are breaking the law by doing this as consumer rights apply for sale items too, therefore should be no reason to not return. Having to take the steps to ombissman and trading standards for my money back. Absolutely ridiculous and so wrong! Clearly money grabbing company that needs shutting down!!!
