Efficient and Friendly Service

I have had a storage unit in Shurgard Norbury for many years and have been happy in the knowledge that my possessions were secure there.
On several occasions I needed help from the staff, who were always friendly and courteous.

We got there in the end! Thank you to the manager at Norbury!

Niamh at HQ was really really helpful and sorted out a lock-up at Norbury branch. Unfortunately someone took over on the day and quoted me the wrong price, with costs of the lock and key which I already have due to using sugar previously, he and then cancelled my reservation. Told me to go to Norbury and speak to a manager on site. I told them I didn’t want to waste my time, as I didn’t think a branch could sort but he was adamant that they would be able to sort, he was rude and shouted at me. I’m not impressed with him, but I had already booked removals so had no choice but to go along to the branch, I asked him not to have cancelled my reservation, but he insisted I had to go to the branch cut along story short the Manager at Norbury was amazing even though she wasn’t meant to help me due to me booking online, she went above and beyond to sort out the mess that Head Office had created she was swift polite with empathy dealing with my situation, thank you so much for your time support and professionalism! The premises is clean and tidy and staff are very helpful, today I saw the area manager, I believe?! He was lovely to very bubbly and enthusiastic. Thank you for sorting as I’m extremely stressed due to moving a 3 bed house on my own atm until removals. X

Great service once again from Sue .

Great service once again from Sue .
Came back in to buy boxes for a friends house move , sue helped me out once again and got tape too with their offer which was a bonus .
Friendly staff , informative , nothings too much trouble .
A real asset to the company
Will be back 😊

Awful

Had my belongings stored here for years and paid a small fortune over that time, including insurance costs. I put up with the numerous times the lifts weren't working, the two times I was trapped as the gates to the facility wouldn't open and there were no staff on site, the general poor maintenance, and eventually being forced to download a useless app (complete with location tracking) just to have access to my own unit! But what I refuse to keep quiet about is the fact that they allowed the facility and my belongings to become infested with rodents and now will only accept the most minimal responsibility. I may not of incurred a huge financial loss, but I'm now having to get everything kept in there professionally cleaned in order to remove the bacteria likely left behind. Not to mention I feel ill at the thought of rodents all over my things. I appreciate the individual facility may not wish to bear responsibility, but the company as a whole should. Absolute zero in the way of remorse or redress, no regard for years of customer loyalty either. I'm disgusted. Have since transferred to Safestore and could not be happier with the contrast - clean facility and helpful staff, avoid Shurgard at all costs, because it will cost you!

In response to their comment, I contacted them by phone on the two occasions I was trapped, was told I'd get a callback to follow up, never did. As to the vermin, I've emailed about 4 times asking for the part of the contract where I consent to infestation to be highlighted, no response, and an offer of £69 compensation when they've had tens of of thousands out of me is an insult.

Rodent investation

Rodent investation which they are aware about didn’t warn me so all my items I stored for 10 months are now thrown away due to having mouse droppings urine and even chew marks. There was even a dead mouse found under the bags of clothes they had chewed through.

So far I haven’t had a great…

So far I haven’t had a great experience. I had no guided tour upon arrival and inter alia, nothing was explained me including the charge one can incur for staying onsite the storage space, outside of business hours. A very discourteous lady simply picked up the phone, failed to announce herself and rather aggressively launched into a rant about the charge that has been incurred. Without any questions now £50 has been deducted from a card I gave no authorisation to use… Not a happy customer!

Super-Sue!

Sue, at Norbury Shurgard was very helpful yesterday. I was having access issues and Sue kindly assisted me and after some brief troubleshooting got to the bottom of the problem. Kind, polite and supportive was the tone of assistance, which was much appreciated: from a busy man that ..sometimes.. forgets to do the same when I'm a bit stressed [blind spot in progress]. ANYWAY.. Sue? ..many thanks to you!! 👋😇✨️

I have been attended by Georgia, she was fantastic! good understanding, explanation of everything, very helpful.
My experience was good, easy and fast.
Not sure about other staff but she was really good.

I have never used storage before in my life. So far my experience has been good because of the lady ( can’t remember her name) who work at Purley branch. She called me and explained a lot of things i wasn’t aware of. Things could improve by having access longer and a direct maybe connection to member of staff through a telecom system.
