Shuttercraft - Bedford Avis 

I recently fitted large sash UPVC windows - great but after looking around my neighbourhood (to see what everyone else had done) I settled upon some shutters as being the most attractive. Also TBH as a guy I loved the idea of not buying curtains :). Ben measured up and we had to agree how the fitting would work - because I was still working on the windows. When Ben returned to fit the shutters it went really smoothly and only a few minor adjustments were needed. The end result is really great and I'm glad I went for the shutters option!

Extremely happy with my experience with Shuttercraft Bedford. Ben was excellent from start to finish!

Shortly after we moved house we organised for him to come and show us the various shutters and venetian blinds that he had available. I was adamant I wanted Shuttercraft because of their quality. And indeed, the shutters were beautiful quality and it was nice and easy to choose the width/colour/and also a split tilt function (sorry I don't know its official name). Basically each shutter has two areas that you can tilt independent of each other and it allows you to block out 'street' and keep letting light in at the top. It's great!

The venetian blinds also came with a range of colours and as I did not want white for those it took me a bit longer to choose. Ben was so patient whilst we went through them about ten times trying to choose. He then went through the whole house completing his measurements and putting up some temporary blinds for us (a big selling point!). Those blinds were pretty decent, an they lasted well enough until the permanent blinds and shutters were ready. We were very grateful to have those and also to not have to be the ones who put them up! :)

At no point did I feel any pressure from Ben, he was relaxed, experienced and kind. We paid a deposit a few days later and he was open about the wait time - about ten weeks, which given we had the temporary blinds was of no bother.

The order ended up being quicker than I was expecting, which was great. Ben and another gentleman called Mike came and installed all the shutters and blinds in one day. The shutters and blinds look amazing, very beautifully fitted - they're perfect. The shutters look like they are part of the structure of the house! With the way Ben has measured them they all line up really nicely with the splits on the windows, which I'm relieved about as I have seen other installers get that wrong and then it looks really weird. I appreciate the attention to detail like that.

The venetian blinds have no cord, you just push them up or pull them down into position. There's a small bar to tilt them. They are beautiful, and actually the colour we went for is much more beautiful than I thought it would be (and as I chose it, I did think it would be at least pretty nice!).

In our master bedroom we did go for the addition of black out blinds as well as the venetian blinds. They are seamlessly installed and again, the fixings look like they are part of the very structure of the house. Really very impressed and looking forward to trying them out!

No mess has been left at all.

Highly recommend this service, they were quick to respond, highly professional, competitive in price and went above and beyond to help create a blind for my very awkward skylight window. So much so Hillary’s (who are supposed to be the UKs specialist) told me they couldn’t create anything for my skylight (and overpriced the rest of my property) whereas Shuttercraft made the effort to come up with an idea that worked! Great customer service from start to finish. Friendly and knowledgable sales staff that didn't mess around with pricing like a lot of other companies. Skilled fitter and the owner went above and beyond post fitting by dropping in some samples of our shutters so we could take to colour match for decorating the rest of the room. Highly recommended.
