I would love to be able to give a…

I would love to be able to give a review on an actual sitter but unfortunately I can't. I have made a booking twice now and nobody has filled it. The last booking sat there for weeks. Apparently most are filled within 48 hours so it begs the question why some aren't responded to at all. There are plenty of sitters in my area based on the info you can see. My son has additional needs. I can only assume that is why nobody has accepted my booking which is pretty sad.

We can sometimes find it slightly more difficult to fill shorter daytime bookings in certain areas, and feel that this is likely to be the reason why a sitter was not secured. We have many children on our register with additional needs, as well as sitters who have experience supporting them, and we do not usually struggle to fill bookings for this reason. Unreliable

Disappointing experience when I tried to use them a second time, they couldn't get me a sitter even though I gave more than a month's notice 🙃 😔. I had to unsubscribe.

Great

Asked for a sitter with less than 24h notice. They immediately found one and she contacted me straight away.

Smooth process, easy way to pay, even got 30£ discount as a new customer!

The sitter was great as well, really sweet with my 6 months old :)

I registered with Sitter.co.uk, but my expectations weren’t met

I registered with Sitter.co.uk because someone recommended the service and I saw positive reviews online suggesting that sitters were readily available and that the platform operated broadly. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing.

When I arrived in the UK, the address shown on Sitter.co.uk was different from the one I originally booked, which caused immediate confusion and inconvenience. When I tried to cancel due to this inconsistency, I was charged £5, which felt unfair given that the service had already failed to meet expectations.

What disappointed me most was that during a very busy period in December and January, when childcare is in high demand, I was unable to secure a sitter through Sitter.co.uk at all. This was especially frustrating because the reviews and website suggested that sitters were widely available across the UK.

It feels misleading for the service to describe itself as reliable and global when, despite being willing and ready to pay, I could not find any childcare support for my children. This left me stressed and disappointed, wondering whether the issue was sitter availability, platform coordination, or inaccurate listing details.

Overall, the experience did not match the expectations set by the company’s online presence and reviews. I hope this feedback helps improve transparency, accuracy of listings, and the availability of reliable childcare, particularly during peak travel and childcare periods.

Hello Ngozi. We are sorry to hear that your experience with our service has not met your expectations. We can see that there are two addresses on your account and these would have been added by you, through the app, when placing bookings, as we do not have the facility to perform either of these actions. Although we can often fill a booking at short notice, there are some areas where this may be more difficult and we can see that your bookings were placed with short notice, less than 24 hours prior to the start time on each occasion. Whilst we will always try our best to help fulfil your childcare needs, we can never guarantee this. Sitters is a UK based company, and our advertising does not suggest that we offer global childcare.

The booking cancellation confirmation is a generic email that does mention a £5 cancellation fee for a booking where a sitter has been confirmed. The fee only applies once you have had your first completed booking and we can confirm that no payment has been taken, as should be evidenced on your bank statement. Thank you for the feedback, and we apologise for the confusion. This will be reviewed with a view to making it clearer.

Very bad billing situation - can't cancel the subscription :(

We had met some really lovely sitters via this service, but when they went to a mobile-app only model (which stopped me from being able to make a booking), I emailed them to cancel. Sadly, they have not responded and I've not been able to cancel my account. As a busy parent it's been a huge hassle. Now, it's been over a year and no one responds to my emails and they continue to bill my credit card despite regular emails to their help centre to stop billing me and cancel my account. I've had to go via my credit card company to stop them billing me. I've moved to Koru Kids for baby sitters and to find out nanny, which has been great so far and is far more accessible.

Fast, easy and great experience

Fast, easy and great babysitters with great experience. Platform easy to use and great features like offering to your top 3 chosen sitters before their other registered ones in a great way to still fill the booking. Easier than messaging lots of different sitters individually and trying to balance all the chats.
