A hard drive on an old black box…

A hard drive on an old black box failed, Sky sent out a replacement but smaller black box, after near two hours on the ph with Sky they said it was faulty, they sent out a new white box, after 30 mins on the ph trying to connect it with their help failing I asked for a tech guy to come out. Every Sky person I have spoken to speaks heavily accented English and refers to a Q and A sheet they have, they were no help at all. Eventually after trial and error I got the white box going myself, cancelled the tech guy. Posted back the faulty black boxes.

Now Sky are convinced I have a new multi room, I have exchanged multiple emails with Sky all to different people, I cannot get the message thru, it is like a bad comedy. This has all been caused by the fact they no longer sent out tech people to sort such matters out.

Got the new sky box on a free offer…

Got the new sky box on a free offer last week. disadvantages: Can't do live pause and turn the tv off and come back to it like the old mysky+ as it turns the box off when you turn the tv off. Can't change the banner time out like you can on mysky+. Can't do program reminders. so if you want to watch something that is coming up on another channel. Advantage: 4k viewing, 1TB hard drive. More disadvantages for me than advantages, so it's going back and i'm getting the old mysky+ back

Just Rubbish

Just installed new sky box after talking to support for 45 min,,still not there,the remote is not user friendly,cant delete channels I dont want in the system,absolutely useless ,,so installed old one and will send new one back

Just received the new white box.
It is very slow to scroll and often freezers. I am also very disappointed that the TV guide does not have a pop up that gives an automatic detailed description on what the program is about, like on the previous box,
I can't believe there is no option to setup a favourites list of channels, so you have to slowly scroll down numerous channels in the guide (I will never be interested in) to see the ones I want to.

New Sky Box and service is terrible

Just "upgraded" to the new white sky box but my mother is finding the UI a bit small. Contacted Sky via Chat Online to ask if there was any way to increase the size and was told, "No." The previous Sky Box was fine to read. Knowing this, I asked the person to hold for a bit while I spoke to my mother (I wanted to ask if she wanted to switch back) and came back to find the chat was closed 2 minutes after I left.
When speaking via phone their English is poor and hard to understand.
If there was a competing service would totally switch. Dumping Sky due to it's lack of Accessibility and nightmarish staff is something we're considering.

DISGRACEFUL, APPAULING SERVICE

I have never reviewed anything in my life, but after my experience trying to close my fathers sky account after he passed away I cannot keep quiet. Customer service, no such thing! Representatives seem genuine on the phone but no follow up, no contact, no accountability NOTHING. I will be going out of my way to make sure every single platform knows how appalling their service is and to not sign up nor think about passing away while holding an account. We have still not heard from anyone to close his account and it has now been 8 weeks, an absolute joke of a company!

I've only had Sky on the minimal package for many many years and the one time I enquired with Sky to upgrade my box, the service I experienced, genuinely ruined my day and I'm not easily annoyed. I used the live chat and it was horrendous. I was dropped on the Live chat by 4 FRICKING PEOPLE. Not 1 person advising why the chat was closed. I wasn't even given the courtesy to call in if they felt that I was a bot. The actual service is one thing but customer service is a huge thing to me and Sky lacks this 1000%. Not sure why they offer a service that cant actually be fulfilled.

Long term sky subscriber here which was ok. They sent an offer for Sky broadband which I accepted.

Problems began immediately - WORST PROBLEMS SOLVING CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM EVER

If I could rate Sky zero stars I would. The whole experience is shocking and if I had a choice I would stop paying for it immediately. Unfortunately they have all the sport that I'm interested in and it seems as though they know we don't have any other options so continue with their utterly awful service.

Don't get Sky the service is rubbish

I have been a long term customer of Sky TV for 28 years. Over that time I would have made plenty of complaints but once Sky moved their help to the Philippines the service went to crap. And now it's the worst service of any business I've ever come across. Would never recommend Sky again or to anyone else. I will just bad mouth them full stop.

Don't whatever you do get the new Skybox

I had an error X322 come up on my black Skybox so I phoned Sky and they said they would replace with a new (White) Skybox and we wont charge you $200. How lovely I thought until the new Skybox arrived, initially the startup was great, all I did was plug in, put my Wi-Fi code it and it was up and running.
Great I thought, then the issues started, the screen froze, I phoned Sky and a really helpful lady got me up and running but doing a Hard Reset. Next day the same thing happened, and the next and the next.
I contacted Sky by email on Friday explaining this, but as of today, no contact.
I would say that this new Skybox is a piece of crap, its likely it has been put into the market with no trials.
GET THIS NEW SKYBOX AT YOUR OWEN PERRIL!!!!!

Tried to get information via Chat then…

Tried to get information via Chat then a Customer Service Person and then tried again with another Customer Service Person (they are based in the Phillipines and English Comprehension was very poor) I told the last person that I felt sorry for them because I believe it most likely is a lack of training.
The customer service was so bad, one of the worst I've ever experienced, that's why I am writing a review. Hopefully they can give better training for English Comprehension. Simple questions like, do u have any deals u could offer me, I couldn't get a simple answer. Thoroughly disappointing

Awful

Awful! Have persevered with this new piece of garbage they call the new Sky Box and despite all the updates it consistently requires rebooting (4 times today) Just avoid the Sky Box if you’re considering upgrading (downgrade more like it) Sky NZ have you no shame?

Do NOT upgrade to new white sky box. I’ve persevered for 6 weeks but have given up and have downgraded to old box. Really regretting getting new box. It won’t remote record, too easy to delete new unwatched recordings, when turning sky box on it will turn TV off, VERY hard to navigate, rewind doesn’t work and the list goes on!!!!!

New sky box is useless

The new sky box is the biggest piece of crap I have ever tried to use. The remote for the box is even worst. Who the hell supplies a unit that out of the blue it does an upgrade right in the middle of a program then does an auto restart. Absolute heap of crap. So I rang sky and got my old box back. The. I waited 30 mins to get an answer from sky to set the box up because the installation for the old box stalled. I don’t think I have ever worked with such a terrible company. I would give no stars if I could. If they offer you a free new skybox…..DONT DO IT

The new Sky box is not fit for purpose

I am mainly on Sky due to the sport . I got the new Sky box after the Sky CEO reassured customers that issues with the new Sky box had been resolved back in August of 2023. What a lie that was !!!! The new Sky box simply does not work . I am now on my third box as that is all Sky
customer service can offer , saying it is a faulty box , which it is not !!! The box is not fit for purpose !!! To get the box to work I have to restart it two or three times a day . It works as slow as the old dial up internet used to work in the 1990's !!!! Sadly nothing seems to have been done by Sky to modify or address these problems . Every time i contact customer service I am fobbed off with excuses. Customers should get their Sky payments heavily reduced until they can get a service that reflects the 21 century .

Absolutely rubbish!!! This company has disregarded an offer they gave me and have since charged me full price for a service I did not agree too! I have sent over 4 emails for them to get contact with me and not one single customer support person had contacted back or offered to help. They have been nothing but financial predators, putting nz people into financial hardship with prices not agreed too or discussed because they are to lazy to listen and look! The new call centre have no respect to listen to their clients and or help with the problem. They have passed me to multiple people saying they can’t help with this matter. Some one from head office needs to contact me asap! Instead of listening and rectifying their clients concerns, they continue to over charge. They have tried to offer me a deal to keep me paying from now on and smooth things over even though I have copy’s of emails they have sent me previously and now they say they can’t find it on their system and I did not contact them? The phone calls are also recorded so they can go back to verify this information but they pretty much tell you the customer your a liar. This is disgusting!
Do not sign up with sky tv!
