SL Paving came to do our front driveway. They were professional and did a fabulous job. Their project manager was great to deal with and gave us lots of advice and tips to make choosing easier. They cleaned up beautifully too! Highly recommend them, and will be using them again in the future.
Unfortunately I would not recommend SL Paving Ltd, who recently worked on a block paved driveway for me, which incorporated a simple circle design. I would like to make other people aware of their poor quality and attention to detail on laying the block paving. Within days of completion the sand had quickly dissipated with rainfall revealing clearly the sub-standard workmanship shown here from my pictures (if I am able to post) enclosed around the circle. I am sure you would agree that this is not acceptable work. The pavers have not been laid correctly for a circle format as recommended by BS Standards, the gaps are too large and uneven, and the quality of cuts terrible, and I am most upset to have spent my hard earned money on such poor quality, and will now have to pay more in order to put it right. I have had 2 other reputable contractors come and look at the circle paving to give me a second opinion, and they have both agreed that the paving is sub-standard.
I have contacted SL Paving Ltd to raise my concerns in order to give them the opportunity on multiple occasions to put things right, but they have refused to do so, or willing to negotiate. They would only be willing to re-sand, but this does not address the poor cuts and unacceptable gapping between blocks which all need replacing. I feel this is very disappointing and extremely unprofessional.
Furthermore, I would have to question their integrity as I feel they are misleading the public, as they have done so with me. I appointed this company due to seeing their apparent 5 star reviews, guarantee and being an approved member of Checkatrade which they were stating on their website and promtotional adverts. I have since been informed by Checkatrade that they are not, and have not been a member since 2024. Therefore, in my opinion, I feel this is misleading to potential customers. However I must add that thankfully after my contact with Checkatrade they have now removed the logo.
I am posting this review just so other potential customers can be made aware of my experience and make an informed decision before going ahead with this company, and potentially being left disappointed with the end result.
