Snaresbrook Prep School is a small school for big futures. We are an independent school for children aged three-and-a-half to eleven where every child is seen, known and heard. We have three aims: to ensure each child reaches their full academic potential; to ensure they can do the right thing, at the right time, in the right way and for the right reasons; and, to ensure they leave us full of confidence and inspired to seek and seize all the opportunities secondary education has to offer. For over 80 years we have built a reputation for academic excellence and for personal pastoral care in the image of the school’s early Head, Mrs Mathison, who asked simply, ‘if this was my child what would I want for them?’ These aims were born out in our last inspection report with the inspection team acknowledging that ‘Pupils feel extremely well-prepared for the next stages in their education’ and with our pastoral care graded as excellent.

An excellent and friendly school
An excellent, friendly and cosy school. Both my children went to Snaresbrook Prep and had a wonderful experience.
Ms Jones is a dedicated and superb teacher who knows just how to support and challenge my daughter and get the best from her.

Friendly, nurturing and ambitious small school
A fabulous school which really caters for the needs and strengths of each individual child. A dedicated, nurturing teaching and staff team get the best out of each pupil, communication with parents/carers is excellent, and a full and stimulating range of extra curricular activities and music lessons is available. Our child could not be happier here.

Excellent school!
Both my children attended Snaresbrook Prep from nursery all the way to year 6. It’s a very well run school where the teachers are friendly and professional. My children’s development was aided by excellent pastoral care and it was a very happy place that they loved. The support we received with the 11+ preparation was excellent and I always felt heard by the head teacher and the staff. My overall opinion is overwhelmingly positive and would highly recommend Snaresbrook Prep.

Every child is known here
Small school that really knows the kids and brings out the best in them. All teachers know every child! The kids get to participate in everything (drama productions, sports teams, music concerts) not just the select few. Academically rigorous too - very happy with the secondary schools my kids got places in. If you want a small, friendly environment where your kids really become confident people, this is the one for you
